고등학교 이산수학의 목표와 내용의 적정성에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 제 7차 교육과정에 새로운 선택과목으로 도입된 이산수학 과목의 교육목표가 타당한지를 살펴보고, 이를 구현함에 있어서 교과서에 이산수학의 목표와 가치가 잘 반영되었는지를 분석하여 내용 선정의 적정성을 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 위의 연구 목적을 위하여 수학과의 개정방향과 목표를 고찰하여 이산수학 과목의 목표를 검토 · 분석하였으며, 교과서 내용 선정의 적정성을 검토하기 위해 먼저 문헌연구를 통해 문제해결 전략을 설정하고, 교과서 문제의 유형 및 전략적 분류를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 이산수학의 교육 목표는 이산수학의 특성이 반영되지 않은 채 수학적 지식의 활용을 통한 실제 문제 상황의 해결이라는 단순한 수학 교육 목표의 재진술 차원에서 설정되어 있다. 따라서 이산수학의 목표는 과목의 특성을 반영하여 구체적인 내용으로 재설정되어야 하며, 특히 흥미와 태도 측면의 목표가 추가되어져야 한다고 본다. 교과서 문제의 유형 및 문제해결 전략적 분류의 실시 결과 대부분이 실생활 소재를 활용한 문제였으며, 다양한 문제해결 전략을 요구하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 교과서의 내용은 실생활의 문제를 해결하는 능력을 향상한다는 이산수학의 목표가 잘 반영되어 졌다고 볼 수 있다. 이렇게 실생활에서 쉽게 접하는 문제 상황을 교과 내용으로 도입하고, 이러한 문제를 해결하는 과정을 통해 학생들에게 수학의 실용적 가치를 깨닫게 하고, 수학에 대한 긍정적인 태도를 기르게 함으로써 이산수학의 교육적 의미를 실현시킬 수 있을 것이다.;The study aims to examine whether the goal of the curriculum of discrete mathematics which has been introduced as a new elective course to the 7th curriculum is proper, and to realize it, investigate the adequacy of the selection of its contents by analyzing whether the purpose and value of the subject is well reflected in textbooks. To achieve its purposes, it examined and analyzed the aim of discrete mathematics curriculum by considering the revision direction and object of mathematics, and established the strategy to resolve any problems by means of literature first and then classified questions included in textbooks according to their types and strategies, to examine the appropriateness of the selection of textbook contents. As a result, the aim of the curriculum was set in a way of restatement of the simple object of mathematics education as "thematical knowledge", instead of mirroring the characteristics of discrete mathematics. Thus subject's purpose should be rebuilt with the concrete contents, reflecting its features, and especially it needs to be added in the aspect of interest and attitude. From the results of the classification according to the types of textbook questions and the strategies to solve the problems, most of the questions were taken from real life, requiring a wide range of strategies to solve them. Hence the contents of textbooks proved that the purpose of discrete mathematics to improve the ability to resolve real-life problems was, on the whole, well reflected. In consequence, the educational significance of discrete mathematics is likely to be realized by introducing the problematic situation, easy to be confronted in real life, to the content of textbooks; and by making students develop positive attitude toward mathematics, as well as learning its practical value through the process to solve problems.
