이동통신 단말기를 활용한 유, 무선 현장체험학습 지원시스템 설계 및 구현

Abstract

현장체험학습은 견학, 인터뷰, 조사, 관찰 등 실제적인 활동을 통한 학습 방법으로, 학습자들에게 창의성과 자율성, 협동성을 길러주데 매우 효과적이다. 이에 따라 교육현장에서의 수업활동에서 현장체험학습이 매우 활발하게 전개되고 있다. 현장체험학습 활동은 주로 소집단 형태로 이루어지며, 현장에서 활동한 내용과 현장 사진, 현장 메모, 인터뷰 자료와 같은 자료를 정리 분석/검토/토의하여 보고서로 작성하도록 되어 있다. 이와 같은 자료 획득에는 카메라, 녹음기, 필기도구 등이 주로 이용되고 있으나 이를 디지털 자료화하는 데는 많은 변환작업이 필요하여, 자료의 정리와 정리된 자료의 공유가 쉽지 않은 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 대부분의 사람들이 휴대하는 이동통신 단말기를 현장 체험학습의 수행도구로 사용하여 손쉽게 자료를 획득하여 정리하며, 정리된 자료를 즉시 공유할 수 있도록 하는 현장체험학습 지원시스템인 W2FLSS(Wireless/Wired Field-experience Learning Support System)을 설계하고 구현하였다. 개발된 시스템은 편리한 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하며, 이미지, 텍스트로 된 자료를 관리하므로 관찰, 조사, 현장 견학 등의 현장 체험학습에 유용하게 활용될 수 있다. ;Field-experience is an opportunity of learning through actual activities such as field trips, interviews, investigation, and observations. It is considered to be very effective to enhance learners' originality, autonomy, and partnership. Accordingly, field-experiences have been widely adopted in an educational environment. Field-experience activities are usually conducted by a small group of students, and the participating students are required to turn in an analysis report with the data obtained from the field-experience such as photographs, field spot memos, and interview materials. And the most commonly used devices for collecting data are cameras, recorders, pencil and paper. However, the data obtained through such devices are not easily analyzed and shared. In this paper, we propose W2FLSS (Wireless/Wired Field-experience Learning Support System) as a learning support system for field-experiences. It uses widely populated cellular phones for data collection, reviews, and sharing. W2FLSS provides us with user-friendly interfaces, and manages text data as well as images. Thus, W2FLSS can be used for field experiences whose main activities include observations, investigation, and field-trip reviews, and sharing.
