BSCS敎科書에 대한 分析的 硏究

Abstract

1957년 미국의 "Mid-century revolution of science education"의 일환으로 Biological Science Curriculum Study(BSCS)를 조직하고 생물교육의 현대화작업에 착수하여 BSCS 생물 교과서 3개판(황판, 청판, 및 녹판)이 1963년 출판되었고 1968년에는 재판이 그리고 1973년에는 제삼판이 나왔다. BSCS 삼판을 중심으로 초, 재판과 조사 비교하고 3개판을 상호 비교하며 또한 우리나라 생물 교과서와도 종합 비교한 결과는 아래와 같다. 1. 황판은 주제가 유전적 연속성이고 수준은 세포인데 제삼판에서는 주제에서 구조와 기능이, 수준에서는 개체군, 군집, 생물권이 보강 되었으며 전통적인 것에 제일 가까운 것이라고 보았다. 2. 청판은 주체가 진화이고 수준은 분자인데 제삼판에서는 주제에서 구조와 기능이, 수준에서는 군집이 보강되고 화학면을 중시하였다. 3. 녹판은 주제가 생물과 환경이고, 수준은 생물권이 중심인데 제 삼판에서는 주제에서 구조와 기능면이, 수준에서는 군집이 보강되며 생태면에 치중했다. 4. 국내 교과서는 주제로서 구조와 기능에 중점을 두고 수준은 개체에 중점을 두고 있으며 단원의 배열도 무방하나 전통 생물학적 범주내에 있다고 본다. 5. BSCS의 황, 청 및 녹판 다같이 초판보다는 재판이 재판보다는 삼판이 그들의 각각 약한 점을 보강하고 있는데 그 주제와 수준 내용면으로 보아 우리나라 생물 교육과정 개선에 황판 제삼판이 가장 참고가 될 것으로 생각된다.;As part of the "midcentury revolution of science of education," the Biological Science Curriculum Study(BSCS) was organized in 1957 to modernize biology education in the United States. This effort had resulted in the publishment in 1963 of three versions of the textbook of biology, i.e., the Yellow, Blue and Green Versions, to be followed by their second editions in 1968 and the third editions in 1973. Using the third BSCS editions as the basis, a comparative study of the three versions and the three editions of each version as well as the biology textbooks used in Korea have been made. As a result, the following findings have been obtained : 1. Whereas the Yellow Version treats the themes of genetic continuity and the levels of cellular, structure and function is added to the themes in the third editions and population, community and world biome to its levels. Thus, it is considered to be closest to the conventional textbook. 2. The themes of the Blue Version covers evolution and the levels, molecular. But in the third edition, structure and function is reinforced in the themes and community in the levels. 3. The Green Versions has as its themes, organism and environment and its levels are centered on world biome while the third edition reinforces structure and function in its themes and community in the levels, stressing ecological side. 4. Textbooks used in Korea concentrate on structure and function in the themes and individual in the levels. The arrangement of units is considered appropriate and they will come under the category of the conventional textbook. 5. As the editions of the Yellow, Blue and Green Versions advance, i.e., from the first to third editions, the weaknesses of the textbook are gradually reinforced. In terms of its themes and levels, the third edition of the Yellow Versions presents a best reference in improving the biology curriculum in Korea.
