藝術敎育의 問題點과 改善方案

Abstract

藝術은 인격의 표현이므로 예술학교가 지향해야 할 바람직한 자세는 학과나 기능에 치우침이 없는 全人的 藝術人 育成을 목표로 하는 것이다. 그러나, 현실적으로는 이러한 목표를 도달하는 것이 어려운 실정이다. 왜냐하면, 一流大學에 많이 합격시키는 것이 '좋은 학교'로 인식되고 있어 학교에서는 이러한 기대에 부응하기 위한 입시위주의 교육, 곧 입시를 위한 기능인 내지는 수험생 양성 위주로 교육을 해왔기 때문이다. 이러한 현실 하에서 예술교육의 문제점을 분석하고 그 개선 방안을 모색할 목적으로 본 논문을 시도하였다. 먼저, 본 연구의 이론적 배경으로 예술교육의 개념, 필요성, 연계성 및 지향점을 고찰하였다. 예술교육의 이상은 훌륭한 인격에 바탕을 두고 예술과 교양에 자질을 갖춘 참다운 예술인을 육성하는 것이다. 따라서, 예술교육은 '온건한 인격에 바탕을 두고 예술과 요양에 자질을 갖춘 참다운 예술인을 육성하는 전인교육'의 차원에서 필요하며, 또한 창조성 계발의 촉진과 인간성 회복의 효과적 방법으로서도 필요하다. 예술교육은 각종 예술이 연계성을 가지고 지도될 때 그 교육적 효과가 증대되는 것이며, 예술교육이 궁극적으로 지향할 바는 기능에만 치우친 예술교육이 아닌 온전한 인격을 구유한 예술인 양성에 있다. 본 연구는 예술학교 교사와 학생 및 학부모와의 개별 면담을 통해서 얻은 자료와 전문가들이 기고한 글에 나타난 자료를 분석하여 藝術敎育을 저해하는 문제점을 추출하고, 그 개선 방안을 모색하였다. 이것을 다섯 가지로 요약하여 제시하면 다음과 같다. 1. 교육과정면 : 예술계 고교 교육과정 마련, 전인적 예술교육에 입각한 교육 목표 수립, 전문교과의 비율 높이기, 전문 교과목의 세분화 및 이수 단위 수 명기. 2. 평가면 : 평가 횟수 및 연주 시간 늘이기, 심사위원 엄선, 평가순서 추첨 및 비공개 연주. 3. 실기 레슨면 : 교내·외로 흩어진 개별지도의 교내 지도의 제도화, 실기고사 위주의 레슨 지양, 기본기 지도 철저. 4. 입시·제도면 : 대상 학생 판별 및 선발 제도 확립, 예술계 고교, 대학 입시 방법의 제도적 개선, 예능계 학교, 학과 증설, 관계 교육법 개정. 5. 시설면 : 실기 연습실 및 특수 교실 증설. 악기 보관 및 관리 철저, 기존 시설의 효과적인 활용, 기숙사 건립. 6. 기타 : 대학 과정의 학교 설립, 해외 저명 예술 학교와의 자매 결연 및 학생 교직원 교류. 이러한 문제점들의 改善方案은 당해 학교 및 학생, 학부모들의 노력으로 부분적인 해결을 볼 수도 있을 것이다. 그러나, 근본적으로는 국가 정책면, 특히 입시 제도가 개선될 때 많은 문제점이 해소되어 온전한 인격을 갖춘 예술인 육성을 기대할 수 있을 것이다.;Art is the representation of the internal personalities of human beings, To reflect this definition, an arts school education is to be directed toward the cultivation of true artists, armed with sound philosophy, character, and personality. Most high schools put their primary efforts into sending their students to a few of the most prestigeous colleges, which results in the abnormal function of education. In other words, most secondary educational institutions have degenerated into commercial markets, selling only the knowledge which is necessary to go to so-called first class colleges, and the students are turning into human robots or computers in an effort to enter those colleges. In this thesis, an analysis of these problems and suggestions for their corrections are detailed. The idea of arts education is to cultivate true artists armed with good character and personality. Accordingly, whole arts education can be defined as "The education and cultivation of true, artists with character and personality", which should be the ultimate goal as well as the ideal of an arts school. Based on materials from individual interviews with teachers, students, and parents of arts schools, and on studies from specialists in the field f music, the obstacles to whole arts education and their solutions are detailed. The summarized suggestions are as follows: 1. Curriculum: To establish high school arts curriculum and educational goals for arts schools. To emphasize the importance of arts subjects. To subdivide arts subjects and state their credits on the official transcripts. 2. Evaluation: To give students more opportunities to have their artistic talent evaluated. To decide by lot the order of playing at examination time. Judges should not be able to see the students while they are playing. 3. Music lessons: Music lessons should only be given at school; More emphasis should be made on the building-up of musical foundation rather than on the test score itself. 4. Entrance Examination System: to establish a definite system in the selection of students. The improvement of the state-run entrance examinations for high school and colleges. To increase the number of arts schools and music department in college. To revise related educational laws. 5. Facilities: To increase the number of practice rooms and rooms for other purposes. More effective handling of the musical instruments. More effective use of existing facilities including the construction of more dormitories. 6. Others: To establish professional conservatories (college level). To make a sister-school relationship with outstanding arts schools from abroad and to have cultural exchange programs among students and faculties in korea and abroad. Many obstacles stated in this thesis can be solved with harmonious cooperation among school, students, parents, and society. However, without the support from the government through policy-making decisions, and especially without the improvement of the present entrance examination system, many other problems can not be successfully solved.
