“장르 넘나들기”를 통한 텔레비전 프로그램 교육 방안 연구

Abstract

매체 교육의 정당성에 대한 논의는 이미 국어 교육학계에서 통용되는 이야기가 되었다. 매체의 정의부터 그 교육 범주에 이르기까지 이미 어느 정도 진전된 논의가 이어지고 있다. 그러한 분위기에 걸맞게 7차 교육과정에서도 매체에 대한 교육 내용이 대거 수록되었으며, 2005년 발표된 교육과정개정안(시안)은 드라마 스토리보드 만들기와 영상 제작하기 등의 내용까지 명시하고 있다. 그러나 이러한 교육 내용은 대부분 매체에 대한 피상적인 인상 비평의 경향으로 흘러가고 있다. 결국 현 상황에서는 매체 교육의 개념이나 정당성에 대한 논의 못지않게 매체교육의 전문성과 효율성에 대한 제고가 시급한 상황이며, 이를 위해서는 매체에 대한 구체적이고 세밀한 접근이 필요하다고 생각한다. 이에 본 연구는 매체교육이 국어교육의 안에서 제대로 실현될 수 있도록 구체적인 내용과 교수학습방안을 모색하는데 그 근본적인 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 영상매체 중 텔레비전 매체를 중심으로 그 교육내용을 추출해보고 그것의 구체적인 교육방안을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 텔레비전 매체의 성격에 대해 밝히고, 그 매체 안에서 각각의 장르들이 어떤 패턴을 가지고 생산되고 소비되는지를 밝히고자 한다. 먼저 텔레비전 장르에 대한 기존의 연구들을 검토하고 이러한 연구 내용이 국어과 교육과정 안에 자리 잡을 수 있는 방안에 대해 고찰해보기로 한다. 이렇게 마련된 텔레비전의 프로그램에 대한 교육 내용을 토대로 그것에 대한 교육 방안을 함께 제안하는 방식으로 내용을 전개해 나가고자 한다. 우선 국어교육에서 매체교육의 위상에 대한 고찰을 시작으로 하여, 현행 국어과 교육과정 안에서 매체 교육의 실황을 살펴보고 그 의의와 한계를 점검하고자 한다. 또한 2005년 발표된 국어과교육과정개정안(시안)에서의 매체교육에 대한 내용을 분석하여 앞으로 국어과에서 매체가 어떤 식으로 다루어질 것인지에 대해 예상해 본다. 이러한 현 시점에 대한 연구를 토대로 매체교육의 나아갈 방향에 대해 구체화 시켜보고자 한다. 이어 매체 교육과 텔레비전 매체 교육의 관계 설정을 통해 논의의 국면을 텔레비전으로 축소하고 텔레비전 매체의 특성과 교육 내용 추출을 위해 장르적 접근을 시도하고자 한다. 텔레비전 매체 교육에 대한 장르적 접근은 기존의 국어교육학계에서 논의된 바가 거의 없다고 해도 무방할 것이다. 기존의 연구들은 텔레비전 프로그램이나 텍스트를 각각의 유형으로 설정하여 연구해왔다. 따라서 본 연구자는 텔레비전 매체 분석에 대한 방송학관련 자료를 토대로 장르를 분석하고 그것이 국어교육에 시사하는 점에 대해 밝히고자 한다. 이어서 이러한 텔레비전 프로그램의 장르적 특성을 국어교육 안에서 교수하는 방식으로 ‘장르 넘나들기’의 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 장르 바꾸기, 장르 변환, 혹은 장르 변용과 유사한 개념이지만 이를 체계화하여 하나의 교수학습모형으로서의 ‘장르 넘나들기’라는 개념으로 체계화하고자 한다. 장르에 대해 기본적인 이해를 통해 텔레비전 프로그램 장르의 지식적 이해를 도모하고, 그 후 각각의 프로그램을 그것이 속한 장르적 속성에 맞추어 분석하고, 그러한 분석을 통해 새로운 프로그램 창작의 기틀을 마련한다. 이렇게 다양한 프로그램 장르를 학습하고, 각각의 장르를 다른 장르로 변환하여 재창조함으로써 기존의 지식을 새로운 창조의 기틀로 사용할 수는 기회를 마련하도록 하는 것이 ‘장르 넘나들기’모형이 추구하는 기본 목적이라고 할 수 있다. 텔레비전의 프로그램들을 장르적 관점으로 구분하고 그것을 통해 각각의 장르의 속성을 살펴보는 것은 앞으로 국어과 교육과정 안에서 교육 내용을 추출하여 위계적으로 편성하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이며, 그 텔레비전 매체의 각 장르에 대한 교육방안으로서의 ‘장르 넘나들기’는 국어과 학습의 실제적인 상황에서 효과적인 교수학습모형으로 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다.;The justification of media education was already discussed at the Korean language education world. Not only definition of the media but also educational category was discussed to a certain degree. In accordance with the atmosphere, the 7th curriculum included a lot of media related education, and the revision (a draft) of the 7th curriculum that was announced in 2005 included making of drama story board as well as image production. Most of the educational contents, however, criticized superficial impression on the media. Currently, in addition to the concept and discussion of media education, media education was urgently demanded to elevate specialty and effectiveness, for which the media should be examined in concrete and detailed way. The purpose of the study was to examine contents and teaching-learning methods to carry out the Korean language education program by the media education. The study found out educational contents based on television media of image media to suggest educational methods. The study examined characteristics of television media to investigate production and consumption of each genre in the media. At first, the study investigated existing researches of television genre to examine the way how to include contents of the study in the Korean language curriculum. The study suggested educational methods based on educational contents on television programs. At first, the study examined status of media education of the Korean language education to investigate actual conditions of media education of the Korean language curriculum and to check meaning and limits. And, the study investigated contents of media education of the revision (a draft) of the Korean language curriculum that was released in 2005 to forecast how the media should deal with the Korean language subject in the future. The study took shape of directions of media education based on current researches. The study established relations between media education and television media education to reduce discussion subject to television and to find out characteristics and educational contents of television media by genre. The television media education by genre was not discussed mostly at existing Korean language education world. Existing researches set up each type of television programs and texts to investigate them. Therefore, the author investigated genre based on mass communication science related material to disclose suggestion to the Korean language education. And, the study suggested 'crossover' in the way to teach genre characteristics of the television programs in the Korean language education. The crossover was similar to changes, conversion and modification of the genre to make system and to produce concept of 'crossover' as a teaching-learning model. Basic understanding on the genre could help understand television program genre to investigate each program in accordance with genre characteristics and to prepare for bases of new program creation. The purpose of 'crossover' model was to learn a variety of program genres and to convert each genre into different one for reproduction and to supply an opportunity making use of existing knowledge as base of new creation. Television programs could be classified from point of view of the genre to examine characteristics of each genre to find out educational contents of the Korean language curriculum and to organize them hierarchically: And, 'crossover' of television media that was educational method of each genre could play role of effective teaching and learning model at actual situation of the Korean language learning.
