음악교육에 있어서 시청각 매체의 활용 실태에 관한 연구

Abstract

음악은 인간이 살고 있는 어느 곳, 어느 시대에나 존재해 왔다. 인간은 다소 형태의 차이는 있지만 공통적으로 음악을 소유해왔다. 그러므로 음악교육은 어느 계층에 국한되어서는 안 되며 모든 인간에게 공평하게 이루어져야 한다. 즉, 음악교육은 모든 인간의 미적 잠재력을 개발하는데 그 목적이 있다. 그러나 우리의 언어적이고 집단적인 수업 방식으로는 이러한 목적을 달성하기가 어렵다. 여기에서 우리는 수업의 효과를 높이기 위해 시청각 매체를 활용하게 된다. 본 연구는 시청각 매체들이 얼마나 학습현장에서 활용되고 있으며 또한 교사와 학생들의 인식이 어떠한지 그 실태를 조사하고 분석함으로써 시청각 교육의 중요성을 재인식하고 그 개선 방향을 제시하고자 한다. 이것을 위해서 본 연구자는 먼저 문헌 고찰을 통해 음악교육의 의의와 음악 교육에 있어서 시청각 매체의 필요성, 현대 음악 교육공학의 동향을 서술하고 시청각 교육의 의의와 역사적 배경, 그리고 녹음기, 전축, Video Tape Recorder(이하 VTR로 지칭), Over Head Projector(이하 OHP로 지칭), Slide, Computer의 특성을 고찰하였다. 또한 여러 통계자료를 통해 매체의 보유현황을 조사하고 설문지를 제작하여 음악 수업에 있어서 매체 활용 실태를 조사하였다. 조사대상은 서울 시내 초, 중, 고등학교 72개교의 교사 200명과 학생 10,912명이었다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 1) 매체 활용 실태 시청각 매체가 음악 수업에 미치는 효과와 매체 활용의 필요성에 대한 교사의 인식은 매우 긍정적으로 나타났다. 그러나 매체 활용면에 있어서는 약간 저조했으며 주로 활용하고 있는 시간과 매체가 너무 한정적이었다. 즉 음악 감상시간에 주로 활용되었으며 녹음기가 가장 많이 쓰이는 매체인 것으로 나타났다. 2) 시청각 시설 현황 보유하고 있는 시청각 매체의 성능과 질은 대체로 좋은 편이지만 보유량은 절대적으로 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 더우기 학습자료의 보유량은 매체의 보유량보다도 부족한 형편이었고 학교의 재정적 지원은 매우 부족한 실정이었다. 한편 음악교육에 대한 행정가의 관심은 국민학교에서 가장 낮게 나타났다. 3) 시청각 교육을 위한 교사 연수 교육 실태 교사의 매체 조작 능력과 자료 제작 능력은 저조하게 나타났다. 특히 매체조작능력에 관한 조사에서는 Slide(53%)와 OHP(57%)가 가장 저조하게 나타났으며 시청각 자료 제작 능력에 관한 조사에서는 Slide, OHP, VTR이 모두 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 한편 시청각 교육을 위한 연수 교육 역시 거의 받지 못한 형편이었다. 개선 방안으로는 학교의 지원과 교사 자신의 태도 변화가 중요한 위치를 차지했다. 4) 학생에 관한 조사 학생들 역시 시청각 교육의 효과와 필요성에 대한 인식은 굉장히 긍정적이었다. 특히 학생들이 가장 좋아하는 매체는 VTR이었고 학생들이 가장 싫어하는 매체는 녹음기로 나타났다. 지금까지의 연구 내용을 토대로 음악교육에 있어서 시청각 매체 활용에 관하여 제언하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악 교사의 태도가 변화되어야 한다. 둘째, 학교의 절대적인 지원이 필요하다. 세째, 교사의 사전 교육과 연수 교육이 필요하다. 네째, 음악 수업에서 주로 활용되는 매체는 학생들의 요구를 수용할 수 있어야 한다. 다섯째, 시청각 교육을 위한 전문인의 양성이 필요하다.;Anytime and anywhere, music has been along with human beings. As people are bone with their own personalities, so diversities of music are unavoidable. Therefore music education should not be limited, but be given to any class of people. In other words, the purpose of music education is to develop each personality's aesthetic potentiality. But if we depend only on verbal education to instruct so many people, we'll be at a loss astray in the way of instruction. For that reason, we are to be in use of the audio - visual media to get the better effect of instruction. This research is designed to point out haw frequently the audio - visual media are using in education field, and to survey and analyze the attitude of teachers and students toward the audio - visual media. Therefore, the researcher will put a great emphasis on audio - visual education to suggest the way which we should take for the improvement of music education. For this purpose, the researcher studied by the document record approach, the significance of music education, the necessity of audio - visual media in music education, and the tendency of modern music education technology. Also the researcher studied, the significance of audio - visual education, history of audio - visual education and each characteristics of cassette record player, audio, video, OHP, slide and computer. With the statistical data, the researcher surveyed the actual size of present audio - visual media and researched on the present using condition of audio - visual media. This research was conducted to 200 teachers and 10,912 students of 72 schools located in Seoul. The conclusions drawn from this study are as follows. 1) The current use of audio - visual media Most education agree on audio - visual media's contribution to music education and realize the necessity of audio - visual media. But in fact they seldom use the audio - visual media, if ever, teaching time and educational media limited. 2) The actual condition of audio - visual education The function and quality of audio - visual media in .any schools are mostly in good condition. But their quantities are very insufficient. Educational program materials are insufficient. too. 3) The current audio - visual education training program for teachers Teachers' abilities to operate the audio - visual media and to produce audio - visual materials are very poor in many aspects. They did not have the opportunity to take in audio - visual education training program. With the support of the school and with the teacher's positive change to audio - visual education, the music education will be much improved than ever. 4) The survey on the students' attitude The students realize the great effect of the audio - visual education and claim for it badly. Their favorite media is video, while the infavorite is cassette record player.
