유아의 기질과 성별에 따른 유아의 사회적 적응

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 기질과 유아의 성별에 따라 또래의 사회적 적응정도가 변화되는지를 알아보고 유아의 기질과 유아의 성별 및 사회적 적응과의 관계를 살펴보고자 한다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위한 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 유아의 기질에 따라 초기 사회적 적응은 어떠한가? 2. 유아의 성별에 따라 초기 사회적 적응은 어떠한가? 3. 유아의 기질에 따라 사회적 적응정도는 변화가 있는가? 4. 유아의 성별에 따라 사회적 적응정도는 변화가 있는가? 5, 유아의 기질과 유아의 성별 및 사회적 적응과의 관계는 어떠한가? 연구의 대상은 서울시에 위치한 S유치원에 다니는 만5세 유아 66명을 대상으로 하였다. 유아의 기질은 Thomas & Chess(1977)의 유아기질 검사도구를 사용하여 측정하였다. 또래에 대한 사회적 적응은 Parker-Cohen & Bell(1988)의 또래반응과 사회적 적응에 관한 질문지를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 유아의 기질에 따른 초기의 사회적 적응과 유아의 성별에 따른 초기의 사회적 적응을 알아보기 위해서 t검증을 실시하였다. 유아의 기질에 따른 사회적 적응정도에 변화가 있는지를 살펴보기 위해서는 각 기질 집단별로 t검증을 하였다. 그리고 유아의 성별에 따른 사회적 적응정도에 변화가 있는지를 살펴보기 위해서는 성별에 따라 t검증을 하였다. 마지막으로 유아의 기질과 성별에 따라 사회적 적응정도가 어떠한지를 살펴보고자 삼원변량분석을 하였다. 본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 유아의 기질에 따른 초기의 사회적 적응은 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 2. 유아의 성별에 따른 초기의 사회적 적응은 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 3. 순한 기질의 유아는 사회적 적응정도의 변화에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 그러나 까다로운 기질의 유아는 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 4. 유아의 성별에 따른 사회적 적응정도의 변화는 남아와 여아 모두 초기 사회적 적응과 이후의 사회적 적응에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 5. 유아의 기질과 유아의 성별에 따른 사회적 적응의 관계에서는 유아의 사회적 적응은 초기의 사회적 적응과 이후의 사회적 적응을 살펴본 시기에서만 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 유아의 기질에 따른 사회적 적응에서도 성별과 사회적 적응간에 상호작용의 효과도 없는 것으로 나타났다.;The Purpose of this study is sto find out that a child's temperament and gender affect its social adjustment towards peers and there is any relationship in its temperament, gender and social adjustment towards peers. The questions raised for this study are as follows : 1. Is a child's initial social adjustment to peer related to its temperament? 2. Is a child's initial social adjustment to peer related to its gender? 3. Is a child's social adjustment with peers affected by its temperament? 4. Is a child's social adjustment with peers affected by its gender? 5. Is there any relationship in a child's social adjustment and its temperament & gender? The subject of this study is 66 children, who were 5 years old in "S" kindergarten located at Seoul. The instrument used to assess temperament in this study is the Parent Temperament Questionnaire developed by Thomas & Chess(1977). The instrument used to assess social adjustment in this study is The Peer Responsiveness and Social Adjustment Scale developed by Parker-Cohen & Bell(1988). This scale was to assess the amount of peer interaction that a child engaged in and the child's general level of adjustment in the kindergarten setting. The results of the study are as follows : 1. Neither the child's temperament nor its gender indicated significance in child's initial social adjustment to peers. 2. Easy temperament group appeared the significant difference in child's social adjustment to peer but difficult group did not. 3. Each of its gender groups appeared the significant difference in child's social adjustment to peer. 4. There was not significant between a child's social adjustment with peers and its temperament & gender.
