아동문학 작품에 나타난 주인공의 행동특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 아동문학 작품에 나타난 주인공의 행동 특성에 대한 아동들의 반응을 조사하는데 그 목적을 두었으며, 이를 위한 연구문제를 다음과 같이 설정하였다. 첫째, 아동문학작품에 나타난 주인공의 일반적 행동 특성은 어떠한가? 둘째, 아동문학작품에 나타난 주인공의 개인적 행동 특성은 어떠한가? 셋째, 아동문학작품에 나타난 주인공의 사회적 행동 특성은 어떠한가? 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 이론적으로 아동문학작품의 특성과 의미를 살펴 보았으며 아동문학작품의 대상으로 남자 주인공 작품 3편(톰소여의 모험, 소공자, 집없는 아이)와 여자 주인공 작품 3편(알프스의 소녀, 앤, 작은 아씨들)등 모두 6편의 작품을 선정하여 분석하였다. 이러한 작품에 나타난 주인공이 지니는 행동 특성 가운데 56개 항목을 설정하여 질문지를 만들었으며 이 질문지를 통해 나타난 반응은 백분율(%)로 먼저 전체적인 경향을 분석하고 이러한 경향을 남 · 여 별로 비교하였다. 질문지(Ⅱ)의 각 항목은 주인공의 개인적 행동 특성 29개 항목과 사회적 행동 특성 27개 항목 등 모두 56개 항목으로 구성되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동문학 작품에 나오는 주인공의 일반적 행동 특성 가운데 정직, 책임, 양심과 친절, 단정, 명랑 및 존대말과 바른 자세 등의 특성이 높게 평가되고 있다. 남학생은 3개의 작품 즉 '톰소여의 모험 ', '집없는 아이 '와 '소공자'에서 주인공의 행동 특성 중 용기, 책임, 정직과 인내, 의지, 우정 등의 행동 특성을 높게 평가하고 있으며, 여학생은 3개의 작품 즉 '앤 ' , '작은 아씨들' , '알프스의 소녀 '에서 주인공의 행동 특성 중 명랑, 근면, 친절, 양심, 예절, 효도, 적응 등의 행동 특성을 높게 평가하고 있다. 따라서 아동기에 있어 정직과 책임, 양심과 친절 단정과 명랑 및 존대말과 바른 자세 등의 행동 특성이 강하게 나타나고 이러한 행동 특성은 아동의 바람직한 행동 특성에 긍정적으로 작용하고 있다. 둘째, 아동문학 작품의 주인공에 대한 개인적 행동 특성은 자신감, 주체성, 건실성, 정서, 인내심 등의 항목에, 사회적 행동 특성은 책임감, 협동심, 예절, 이해성, 공공심의 항목에서 강하게 인식되고 있다. 따라서 아동기의 바람직한 개인적 행동 특성과 사회적 행동특성의 형성을 위해 아동문학작품을 통한 의도적이고 균형있는 지도가 필요하다. 세째, 아동문학 작품에 나오는 이상적인 주인공의 행동 특성으로 '톰소여의 모험'에서는 모험심과 용기, '집없는 아이'에서는 검소와 정직, '소공자'에서는 정직, 양심, 단정등의 행동 특성이, '알프스의 소녀 '에서는 근면과 봉사, 바른 자세, '앤 '에서는 양심, 명랑, 감사, '작은 아씨들'에서는 근면한 행동과 특성이 강조되고 있다. 따라서 아동기에 필요한 바람직한 행동 특성으로 적당한 모험심과 용기, 검소, 정직, 양심, 단정, 근면, 봉사, 명랑, 바른 자세 등의 항목을 제시할 수 있으며, 이러한 행동 특성이 아동의 행동 형성에 도움을 줄 수 있도록 아동문학 작품을 지도해 나가야 한다. 이상과 같은 결론에 비추어 앞으로 우리가 먼저 해야 할 일은 우리 실정에 맞는 우수한 아동문학 작품을 출판 보급해 나가야 하며, 국어과 독서지도에서 작품의 분석과 이해를 통해 주인공의 행동특성을 바르게 파악할 수 있도록 지도하여 아동들의 바람직하고 긍정적인 행동 형성에 도움을 줄 수 있도록 지도해 나가는 일이라 하겠다.;The purpose of this researsh is to disclose how the images of the leading characters in juvenile literature works influence on primary school children forming their behavioral characteristics. For this, personal, social and general behavoral characteristics are set up for research issues. In order to reach this research purpose, meanings and charaters in juvenile literature works are looked into theoretically, and the method of investigation is to divide 56 items of personal, social behavioral characteristics in juvenile literature works ("Tom Soyar", "Same Famille", "Little Lord Faulteroy", "Heid", "Ann", "Green Garden") by making up questions. Through this research, the result that juvenile literature works influence on children forming their personalities are as follow : First, about ieading character's general behavioral characteristics in juvenile literature works, children estimate high that their general behavioral characteristics are faithfulness, responsibility, conscience, kindness, neatness, brightness, right posture of life. Second, about leading character's personal behavioral characteristics in juvenile literature works, children estimate high that their personal behavioral characteristics are self-consciousness, independence, soundness, ideality and pation, and their social behavioral characteristics are a sense of reseponsibility, cooperative sprite, courtesy, social understanding, public morality. Third, about leading character sideal behavioral characteristics in juvenile literature works, children estimate high that their ideal dehavioral charateristics are adventure, courage, frugality, rightness, conscience, neatness, brighness, thanks, diligent. Therefore, intentional guidence is needed to forming children's desirable personal and social behavioral characteristics, through children literature works. According to this result, the problems of the Korean juvenile education are as follow : First, publicarion of juvenile literature works field for high graders should be increased. Second, teachers have to try to teach children juvenile literarure works desirably and rightly, through analysis and understanding of children literature works, in the Korean language class.
