사립학교의 건학정신과 교육관에 관한 연구

Abstract

Private schools have played an important role in the field of Korean education. They were the subject to lead the cultures of modern civilization at the end of Yi-Dynasty, and became the pivots to Dreserve the national spirits under the pressure of Japanes' rule, to enlighten the faith of self-independence as they endeavoured to inherit and develop the traditional cultures These concepts of private schools suggest the righteous way in which present private schools should be directed. This study has the purposes to observe that 'what is the spirit of private-school establishment' and 'How is it realized',"Does this spirit have special effects?", "Is it necessary to change it?", "What is the human features represented in instructional curriculum?", 'What is the field of education which should be emphasized against the futuring 2000 year?', 'What are the projects to be implemented for the better education in high schools?', and 'What are the contents which should be accented in personality instruction, and is the objectives of high school education?'. To conduct these objectives, this study is proceeded through the literatures and investigations, and the questionaires obtained by its investigation and study are distributed to 60 directors of private schools and 600 teachers as one person for each school. And among them, the questionaires for 383 persons are returned. And the responses of directors and teachers are processed with percentage method in frequency distribution and its result obtained are as follows; 1) In terms of director's responses about the spirit of private-school establishment, 45.45% among them show the objectives with morale views of education. 2) The extent of consistency between the spirit of school establishment and the educational views of teachers is 90.29%. And when consistent, its reason is shown as the result that 'the item 'when these human features are improved, the social disciplines can be reformed' is 49.14%. 3) Curriculums which the spirits of school establishment is influenced, 'the ethics' shows the highest proportion as 35.42%. 4) In terms of educational effects of the spirit, the item "growing in the surroundings of school establishment sprit', shows the 50% in the degree of realization pertaining to the spirit, and the emotional respects represents the 23.83% in terms of special instructional quality. 5) In terms of the views pertaining to school establishment, 'it is good without replacement' is the 96.8%. 6) In the responses of the views of education, following responses are obtained in directors and teachers. a. In the human features to improve, the item 'the man with right spirits and healthy body' is the first order both in directors and teachers. b. In the fields of education for the 2000 year, the response of directors is represented as the political respects (training citizens, educational reinforcement of national spirits, the instruction of unity and security) in the first order. And in the response of teachers, the social respects show the first order. c. In the projects for better instruction of high schools, the improvement of teacher's quality' is the first order in directors' response and the solution of densed classes and large-scale schools' is the first in teacher's response. d. In the virtures which should be emphasized in personality education in high schools, the responses of directors and teachers are consistent, and the fidelity is the first order. e. In the educational objectives of high schools, the consistency of responses with directors and teachers is existed and the cultivation and personality education show the first order. In consideration of the responses shown as above, the opinions between directors and teachers are tended to be consistent In these respects, both directors and teachers make an effort to achieve the purposes all together for the special objectives which the private schools have.;사학이 한국교육에서 담당한 역할은 실로 막중하다. 구한말에는 근대 개화기 문명을 선도하는 주체가 되었고 일제의 식민 탄압속에서는 민족정신을 지키고 전통적 민족문화의 계승과 창조에 전력하여 자주독립의 굳은 신념을 일깨워 주는데 주축을 이루기도 하였다. 이러한 사학의 이념은 오늘날 사학이 걸어야 할 올바른 길을 암시하여 준다고 본다. 본 연구는 건학정신에 관한 조사로, ·사립학교의 건학정신과 그 지각도, ·건학정신의 교육적 효과, ·건학정신의 개선필요성 여부, 등을 알아보고, ·교육관에 관한 조사로, ·교육과정에 나타난 인간상의 사립학교 교장과 교사들의 지각도, ·2000년대에 대비하여 고등학교에서 강조되어야 할 교육영역. ·고등학교 교육의 충실화를 위해서 우선적으로 수행되어야 할 사업내용, ·고등학교 교육의 목표로써 우선적으로 달성해야 할 내용영역 등을 을 알아보는데 목적을 둔다. 위와 같은 목적을 가지고 본 연구는 문헌연구와 조사연구로 병행하였다. 조사연구에 의한 질문지는 서울시내를 중심으로 총 사립고등학교 170여교중 1/3에 해당하는 60개교의 현직교장 60명, 교사는 1개교에 10명씩 600명에게 배포한후 그중 교장이 33명 교사가 350명 모두 383명이 회수되어 각 문항에 대한 교장,·교사의 반응은 빈도 분포에 따라 백분율로 계산하여 표로 제시하였으며 반응차 검증은 F검증이 사용되었다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 건학정신에 관한 반응의 응답은 1 . 건학정신을 교장 반응중심으로 조사한 결과 45.45 %에 해당하는 교장들의 반응이 도덕주의적 교육관에 입각한 건학정신에 목표를 두고 있음이 밝혀졌다. 2 . 건학정신과 교사의 교육관 일치도에서는 90.29 %가 일치하고 있으며 일치하는 이유로는 " 이러한 인간상이 길러져야 사회의 기강이 바로 잡히기때문 " 이라는 응답이 49.14 %였다. 3 . 건학정신이 반영되는 교과목으로는 윤리과목이 35.42 %로 가장 비율이 높게 나타났다. 4 . 건학정신의 교육적 효과에서는 학생들의 건학정신 의식도를 알아본 결과 " 건학정신 풍토속에서 자라고 있다 " 에 50 %가 나타났으며 건학정신에 험입어 어떤특정 소양을 가지게되는지의 질문에서는 는 정서적인면이 23.83 %로 가장 높게 나타났다. 5 . 건학정신에 관한 의견은 " 바꾸는것보다 그대로가 좋다 "에 96.8 %의 높은 반응을 보였다. 6 . 교육관에 관한 반응은 교장, 교사의 각각 반응에 다음과 같은 응답을 얻었다. 가. 교육과정에 나타난 인간상은 사립학교 교장과 교사들이 어떻게 지각하고 있는가?의응응답으로 "올바른 정신과 튼튼한 몸을 가진 건강한 사람"으로 1순위의 반응을 나타내었으며 교장과 교사가 같은 의견을 보였다. 나. 2000년대에 대비하여 고등학교에서 강조되어야 할 교육영역은 무엇인가?의 질문에 교장들은, ·정치적측면(민주시민 양성, 국민정신 교육강화, 통일안보교육등)을 1순위로 나타낸 반면, 교사들은, ·사회적측면(사회의식 구조개선, 교육기회균등, 사회정의 구현등)을 1순위로 반응했다. 다. 고등학교 교육의 충실화를 위해서 우선적으로 수행되어야 할 사업내용은 무엇인가?에 대해서는 교장들은 ·교원의 자질향상을 1순위로 꼽고 있으나 교사들은, ·과밀학급 및 과대규모 학교해소가 1순위로 응답했다. 라. 고등학교에서 인격교육의 내용으로 강조되어야 할 내용영역은 어떤것인가? 교장 교사 반응의 응답이 일치하였으며 성실성에 1순위로 나타났다. 마. 고등학교 교육의 목표로써 우선적으로 달성해야 할것들은 무엇인가? 에는 교장과 교사의 반응이 일치하였으며 ·교양 및 인격교육에 치중해야 한다고 반응했다. 이상과 같이 나타난 응답으로 보아서 교장과 교사간의 의견이 일치되는 경우가 많고 일치되지 않는 경우가 별로 없다. 이러한 점으로 보아 사학이 가지는 독특한 목적에 교장 교사가 일치하여 목적달성을 하려고 노력하고 있는것으로 본 연구에서 볼 수 있다.
