중학교 교실의 시설환경에 관한 연구

Abstract

해방이후 우리나라의 교육은 여러 분야에 결처 않은 변화와 발전이 있었다. 교육 인구의 증가와 지식의 팽창이라는 사회적 변화는 종래의 주입식 교육 방법에서 탈피하여 좀 더 새롭고 효율적인 교육 방법을 모색하게 되었으며 학습을 위한 보조수단으로 각종 매체를 활용하게 되었다. 아울러 학생에게 가장 적절한 교수 이론의 적용과 수업조건에 대해 끊임없이 연구할 필요가 있게 되었다. 본 논문은 학교 교실 환경의 바람직한 조건이 무엇인지를 알아보고 우리나라 중학교 일반교실의 현실태와 이상적인 상태에 대한 기대수준을 비교 분석하여 중학교 교실 환경의 개선 방안을 수립하는데 유익한 기초자료를 제공함이 목적이다. 이러한 목적 아래 다음과 같이 4개 주요 영역을 중심으로 연구하였다. 1. 교실의 물리적 환경 2. 교실의 설비 3. 용도별 교실 4. 학습집단에 따른 학습공간 본 논문은 문헌연구와 조사연구를 병행하였는데 서울과 경기도 소재 111개 중학교에 재직중인 111명의 현직교사의 의견을 질문지를 통해 조사한 결과를 가지고 백분률로 처리하였다. 조사 결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 1. 교실 환경에서 조명. 색. 교구(校具)는 비교적 실태와 기대수준이 비슷하며, 온도, 음향, 수도시설 등은 배려가 안 되어 있어 실태와 기대수준간의 격차가 크다. 2. 자료실은 별로 갈 되어 있지 않은 편이며, 시청각실, 컴퓨터실 언어 실습실 등은 전혀 되어 있지 않은 상태이다. 3. 교설 설비는 전반적으로 기대수준에 미치지 못하고 있다. 4 . 교수 학습의 다양성에 따른 공간적인 배려가 전혀 되어 있지 않다. 위의 조사 결과를 종합적으로 분석해 볼 때 다음과 같이 제언하고자 한다. 1 현재 우리나라 중학교 교실 환경과 시설의 개선이 시급하다. 2 . 도시와 농촌간의 교실 환경 시설에 대한 격차를 줄일 수 있도록 정책적인 면에서의 지원과 투자가 있어야겠다. 3. 학급 정원의 수를 줄여 절적인 면에서 효율적인 수업이 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 한다. 4. 학교에서 사용되는 모든 교구 (校具)는 인체공학적인 면을 고려하여 제작되어야 한다. 5. 학생들의 성장발달에 적합한 교실 환경을 위하여 신축교사 건립시에는 설계에서부터 시공, 감독까지 철저히 하여야 하며 이에 대한 기준안이 마련되어야 한다.;A new and efficient teaching method has emerged from a forme cramming teaching method which has been needed on a count of social change. All sorts of media have been used as supporting means and there has been a need to study about the most pertinent application of teachers to students and classwork conditions. The purpose of this study is to furnish some basic data to the improvement of environments in middle school classrooms, with the analysis what is desirable for improvement of environment of middle school classrooms, present conditions of Korea and the desirable standard to expectation of the level. In this purpose, the opinion of middle school teachers on the following 4 main parts was surveyed : 1. Physical environment 2. Facilities of classrooms 3. Function of classrooms 4. Learning space In this study, 111 teachers of 111 middle schools in Seoul and Kyunggi Do were randomly selected and given a questionnaire that was formulated by the researcher. The statistical analysis of the data was obtained by percentage. These are the problems which are brought up by the survey : 1. In the classroom environment, there are no gaps between reality and ideal as far as color, tape recorders and flip book hanger are concerned. But a big gap is found between reality and ideal in temperature, acoustics, and water facilities, because they are not taken into consideration. 2. Instructional material rooms are not equipped very well, and AV center, computer room and language laboratory are almost imperfect. 3. There is no consideration of space for the variety of the teaching and learning. Analyzing the result of the survey synthetically, the following suggestions are brought up : 1. Overall improvement of the present middle school classroom environment is urgent. 2. There should be a careful concern of the government to get rid of the gap between the urban and the rural facilities. 3. We have to cut down the number of students in one class for effective teaching. 4. When we build new schools, we have to take extra care to plan and supervise it so that children could be more comfortable and a suitable classroom environment for their growth should be planned. 5. In the future, a study for progressive change is needed in a variety of learning.
