웹 기반 영어 어휘 학습 보조 시스템 설계 및 구현

Abstract

본 논문은 향상된 영어수업을 위해 웹상의 어휘학습 보조시스템을 구현한 것으로 학습자의 영어 어휘학습을 돕고 영어문장들에 대한 이해를 증진시켜 기존의 학교수업에서의 부족한 점을 보충하고자 하는 시도의 결과이다. 어휘는 외국어 학습에 있어 중요한 요소라는 것은 이미 알려져 있지만, 실제 학교 현장에서는 어휘 학습이 문법이나 다른 요소에 비해 크게 중요하게 다루어지지 않는 실정이다. 실제로 영어학습에 대한 수많은 인터넷 사이트를 조사해 본 결과에 따르면 어휘 학습보다는 문법이나, 구문, 독해 등에 그 초점이 맞추어 있으며, 중 고등학교 영어학습과 직접적인 연관이 있는 어휘학습 사이트는 찾아보기 힘들었다. 이에 할당된 영어수업 시간 내에 부족한 영어어휘 학습에 도움이 되고자 본 연구를 시작하게 되었다. 컴퓨터를 이용한 영어 어휘 학습을 할 경우 학생들의 입장에서 보면 원어민의 발음 청취 및 수준에 맞는 학습을 할 수 있으므로 많은 흥미를 이끌어낼 수 있다. 또 교사의 입장으로 보면 정확하고 유창한 발음에 대한 부담을 덜어주고 수업 전이나 후에 학생 스스로가 학습할 수 있도록 지도할 수 있기에 보다 효율적인 학습이 이루어질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 선생님이 학교 수업 전에 이루어져야 할 어휘학습에 대해 학생들에게 예비학습을 시킬 수 있는 기능을 포함하고 있다, 또 학생 스스로가 자신의 필요와 수준에 맞는 단어장을 작성하고, 어휘를 필요에 맞게 분류하여 학습할 수 있는 기능을 포함하고 있다. 본 연구를 통해 기존 학교현장에서 부족하였던 영어어휘학습을 보충함으로써, 국제화, 세계화라는 시대적인 요구에 알맞은 인재를 육성하는데 도움이 되고자 한다. ; This thesis examines methods of using the web to overcome limitations to learning vocabulary taught in the High School English Class. This system is designed to help students study English vocabulary as well as promoting English sentence comprehension. Although vocabulary is one of the most important aspects of learning a foreign language, it is not considered to be as necessary a requirement as grammar and reading comprehension; and as a result it is not viewed as practical for a High School English class. Even according to surveys various educational institutions, the study of vocabulary is still considered less important than other areas. In addition, it has difficult in finding the vocabulary study with the direct connection to the high school english class. This system is designed to help the high school student to get over limitation of learning english vocabulary during the given school english class time. From the point of student s view, it is more attractive that this system offers english native s pronunciation. Also it has a self study application which help studying proper level of english vocabulary. This system includes the function of vocabulary preview before attending the class. If students want to make a wordbook, they can build a wordbook by themselves and classify the vocabulary his own level. In this research, this thesis suggest the system that student should learn the english vocabulary using computer by himself before and during the class. The present writer will expect learners to make more effective english study by enhancing vocabulary. Furthermore this research make the quality of education to be improved, so that the educational conditions can be competitive and advanced in 21C.
