중학교 과학 2의 <물질의 특성> 단원에 대한 성취 기준 및 평가 기준 개발

Abstract

지금까지 실시해 온 평가의 유형인 선택형 지필 평가 위주의 규준 지향 평가에 대한 대안으로 제7차 교육 과정에 제시된 평가의 유형은 준거 지향 평가이며, 또한 각 시·도 교육청에서는 선택형 지필 평가의 대안인 수행 평가를 적극 권장하고 있다. 학습 목표에의 도달 정도를 평가하는 준거 지향 평가를 위해서는 국가 교육 과정에 근거한 학교 수준의 구체적이고 상세한 성취 기준 및 평가 기준 마련이 요구된다. 이 연구는 학교 수준의 객관적이고 타당한 성취 기준 및 평가 기준이 개발되어 있을 때, 그 기준을 토대로 하면 타당하고 신뢰로운 수행 평가 도구를 계속적으로 만들 수 있음을 밝히는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 중학교 과학 2의 물질의 특성 단원을 연구 영역으로 선정하여 성취 기준과 평가 기준을 개발하였으며, 이 결과를 토대로 하여 다양한 수행 평가 도구의 예시를 제시하였다. 성취 기준과 평가 기준의 개발에 앞서 선정된 단원에 대한 필수 학습 요소를 추출하였다. 제7차 과학과 교육 과정에 제시된 내용과 개정된 6종 과학 교과서의 분석을 통하여 물질의 특성 단원에서 총 21개의 필수 학습 요소를 추출하였다. 필수 학습 요소를 추출한 후에는 학생들이 도달해야 할 학교 수준의 구체화된 성취 기준을 개발하였다. 성취 기준은 지식 영역, 탐구 영역, 태도 영역으로 나누어 개발하였고, 지식 영역 23개, 탐구 영역 14개, 태도 영역 1개로 총 38개를 개발하였다. 성취 기준을 개발한 후에는 학생들의 성취 수준을 실질적으로 판단할 수 있는 학교 수준의 상세한 평가 기준을 개발하였는데, 지식 영역 23개, 탐구 영역 14개, 태도 영역 1개로 총 38개를 개발하였다. 끝으로 성취 기준과 평가 기준을 토대로 학생 개개인의 실질적인 성취 정도를 알아낼 수 있는 다양한 수행 평가 도구를 개발하였다. 이 연구에 참여한 연구자와 공동 연구자들은 한결같이 학교 수준의 성취 기준 및 평가 기준을 토대로 하면 다양한 수행 평가 도구를 수월하게 개발할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 개발한 수행 평가 도구 예시는 총 4개(서술형 2개, 토의 기록문 1개, 포트폴리오 1개)이다. 이 연구에서 개발한 학교 수준의 성취 기준 및 평가 기준은 과학과 교육 과정과 이에 근거하여 새로 집필된 6종의 교과서 분석을 근거로 이루어졌으며, 중학교 현직 교사와 과학 교육 전문가들에 의해 내용 타당도를 검증 받았다. 결론적으로 이 연구에서 개발한 성취 기준과 평가 기준을 준거로 하면 현장 교사들도 실질적으로 학교 현장에서 사용할 수 있는 다양한 수행 평가 도구를 개발할 수 있다. ; In this study, 「achievement standards」 and 「assessment standards」have been developed to make 「performance assessment instruments」. It deals with the area of The properties of substances in Middle School Science 2 from the 7th national curriculum. The results of this study are as follows : 1. In the first place, the characteristics of the 7th national science curriculum, and the contents of the six kinds of science textbooks of middle school 2nd grade were carefully analyzed. Then the 21-requisite-learning elements in the units of The properties of substances were extracted from them. 2. The 38 「achievement standards」 that the students should fulfil were developed. The fore-mentioned 「achievement standards」 are divided into three categories; knowledge, procedure and attitude. These can be used as the actual guidelines of teaching and learning in a classroom. 3. The 36 「assessment standards」 were developed to decide the level of students achievement. Each standard has three levels; satisfactory, average and poor. 4. 「Performance assessment instruments」 were made based on the above-mentioned 「achievement standards」 and 「assessment standards」. Various types of instruments such as descriptive types, discussion reports and portfolios were used. The so-developed instruments are 2 descriptive types, 1 discussion report and 1 portfolio. The conclusion of this study is as follows. Based on the so-developed 「achievement standards」and 「assessment standards」, science teachers can easily make various 「performance assessment instruments」 that contribute to the effective teaching-learning and assessment activities.
