교수매체 활용 연수 프로그램 개발연구 : 육군사관학교 사례를 중심으로

Abstract

현재 세계 각 국의 육·해·공군에서는 효과적인 군 교육방법을 위하여 교육공학의 적용이 적극적으로 이루어지고 있으며, 한국의 군 교육에서도 교육공학을 적용하기 위한 노력이 계속되고 있다. 한국의 군 교육기관에서 적용하고 있는 교수 방법과 교수매체 활용 현황을 조사 분석한 연구에 의하면 군 교육에서 교수들의 교수매체 활용에 대한 인식도는 매우 높았으나 다양한 교수매체의 실제적인 활용도는 저조한 것으로 나타났다. 그 이유는 교수매체 전문가의 부족과 각 교수 방법에 맞는 교수매체 활용에 대한 연구가 부족하기 때문이라고 지적하였다. 육군본부에서 배포한 "교육 방법 사례집"의 내용을 보면 강의, 시범 등 전통적인 교수 방법에 관한 것으로 제한되어 있으나 현재 군 교육기관에서는 멀티미디어, Video on Demand시스템 및 LAN시스템이 도입되어 활용되고 있는 실정이다. 그러므로 보다 이러한 최신의 효율적인 교수법 및 매체 활용을 활성화하기 위해서는 교수매체 활용에 관한 교육이 필수불가결한 상황이다. 효과적인 교수에 필수적인 교수매체 활용과 보급은 교수들을 위한 연구를 통해 활성화되어야 한다. 그러나 아직까지 군 교육기관에서 교수매체 활용에 관한 연구가 시행되고 있지 않은 실정이다. 그러므로 군 교육기관에서 교수방법 개선을 위하여 교수매체 활용에 관한 연수 프로그램의 개발이 시급히 요청된다 하겠다. 현재 연수 프로그램 개발에 적용될 수 있는 ISD모형은 수없이 많이 개발되었다. 그러나 실제로 ISD모형을 교수 프로그램 개발에 적용하는데 있어서 여러 가지 문제점이 지적되고 있으며 이에 관한 연구의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 ISD모형중 가장 일반적이고 기본형인 ADDIE모형을 적용하여 군 교육기관의 교수들을 위한 교수매체 활용 연수 프로그램을 개발하고, 개발과정상의 문제점을 분석하는 데 목적이 있었다. 연구대상은 육군사관학교 교수들이고 연구절차는 다음과 같다. 군 교육기관의 교수매체 활용에 관한 교육 실태를 조사하고 교수매체 활용 연수에 관한 교수들의 의견조사를 통해 연수의 필요성을 확인하였다. 교수매체 활용에 관한연수 프로그램을 요구분석을 기초로하여 개발하고 실시하여 그 결과를 코스평가서를 통해 평가하였다. 그리고 연수 프로그램 개발에 적용한 ADDIE모형의 개발과정상의 문제점을 분석하였다. 개발한 교수매체 활용 연수 프로그램에 관한 평가결과를 보면 코스 내용에 관해 만족한 것으로 답변하였다. 군 교육에 교육공학의 역할에 대한 인식이 연수을 통해 높아진 것으로 나타났으며 좀 더 멀티미디어와 파워포인트를 이용하여 수업할 수 있는 시설들이 확대되기를 희망하고 있었다. 교수들의 의견조사서를 분석한 결과 교수매체 활용 연수의 필요성은 느끼고 있으나 필요성을 느끼고 있는 만큼 연수의 참석율이 높지 못한 것을 볼 때 적극적인 참여를 유도할 수 있는 보상체제와 제도적인 뒷받침이 필수적이다. 연수 프로그램 개발과정상에 문제가 되었던 부분은 다음과 같다. 요구분석시 설문 작성법이나 비용 편익을 결정하는 데 좀 더 상세하고 구체적인 방법과 실례가 제시되지 못한 것과 어떠한 과제분석방법을 사용해야 할지를 결정하기가 어려워 각각의 분석방법의 특성과 적용방법에 대한 안내가 주어져야 할 것이다. 그리고 평가도구 개발에 있어서 인식의 변화나 적용 능력의 변화와 같은 평가기준을 구체적으로 어떻게 세워야 할지 구체적인 방안에 대한 실례들이 주어지면 용이할 것이다. 교수매체 활용과 같이 교수들의 교수매체 활용에 관한 인식 변화와 파워포인트, 멀티미디어 조작과 같은 수업에의 적용도 측정은 장기간에 걸친 교수매체 활용 실적 분석과 경향에 관해 분석하는 기간이 필요하므로 단기간의 연수 이후 즉시 평가하는 것은 문제점이 있다. 교수전략을 세우는데 ADDIE모형에서 권장하고 있는 접근방식을 그대로 따르는 데는 무리가 있었다. 좀 더 세분화된 접근방식 안내가 주어져야 한다. 수업상황에 따른 교수방법 선정과 교수매체 선정에 있어서도 어느 매체를 선정해야 할지에 대한 명확한 안내 지침이 필요하다. 실행단계에서의 문제점은 완성된 프로그램을 실제로 현장에서 사용하고 교육과정에 완전히 설치하는데는 많은 어려움이 뒤따르고 있다. 적극적인 연수에의 참여를 도울 수 있는 보상체제와 제도적인 뒷받침이 필요하다. 그리하여 본 연구에서는 군 교육방법 개선을 위한 교수매체 활용과 효율적인 교수 연수 프로그램 개발을 위해 다음과 같은 제언을 하고자 한다. 첫째, 교직의 전문성을 신장·유지시키기 위해 주기적으로 체계적인 연수가 제공되어야 한다. 교육 개혁에 입각한 교수의 역할 변화와 학습원리, 교실 운영 관리 등의 기본적인 이론과 효가적 교수방법을 위한 교수설계 기법, 그리고 효율적인 교수를 위한 교수매체의 활용 방법 등에 과놘 체계적인 교수 연수 프로그램의 개발과 보급이 필요하다. 둘째, 연수는 교수들의 자발적인 참여가 가장 바람직하나 현실적인 어려움이 있으므로 독일, 영국의 대학과 미국의 군 교육기관에서와 같이 신임 교수는 필수적으로, 그리고 현직 교수의 경우에는 연구 활동 내지는 교수 평가와 관련시켜 연수 참여를 적극적으로 뒷받침할 수 있는 제도가 마련되어야 한다. 셋째, 군 교육 데이터베이스의 구축을 통해 정보를 공유하고 새로운 정보 제공이 신속하게 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 하며, 이를 위한 원격교육 시스템 구축과 컴퓨터 학습실, 학습지원센터의 시설 확충이 필요하다. 넷째, 새롭게 등장하는 첨단 교육매체를 테스트하고 활용 가능성을 타진할 수 있는 체제를 갖추어야 한다. 새로운 교수매체가 나올 때마다 이를 관장하는 전담 부서(시청각교육원)에서 이들의 특성과 효율성을 파악하여 지속적으로 전 교수들에게 전달하는 제도가 마련되어야 한다. 그리하여 보다 효율적이고 편리한 수업 지원이 이루어지도록 시청각교육원의 기능 확대와 이를 위한 지원이 뒤따라야 하겠다. 다섯째, ISD이론 및 모형들은 다양한 상황에 적용되어져야 한다. 따라서 각각의 구체적인 상황에 적용될 수 있는 실제의 예들을 포함한 세부적인 지침들이 필요하다. 이를 위해 선진국에서는 여러 자동화된 시스템 및 도구들을 통해 교수설계 전문가의 활동을 용이하게 하고 있으며 국내에서도 이러한 자동화 시스템 및 도구, 보조물의 개발이 필요하다. 여섯째, 기존의 여러 모형에서 경험적으로 밝혀진 개발전략을 보다 종합적이고 실용적으로 활용할 수 있도록 입체적으로 재구성한 요청 수용 수준 모형이 있어서 특정 설계, 개발 프로젝트에 관련된 시간적, 자원적 제약상황에 대한 현실적인 분석 및 평가결과에 따라 설계 및 개발의 정교화 수준을 다중화하는 모형이 개발되어야 한다. ; Today Educational Technology applying is very actively applied in the military society all over the world for a more effective military education. And the Korean military Army is also trying to apply the educational technology to military education. Accordig to research pratical utilization of instructional media and methods in military education, professors recognition of instructional media utilization is very high, but their actual utilization of the instructional media is low. That the main reasons are the absense of specialists on this area and the lack of research on instructional media utilization. Today instructional media utilization for military education is very low. The information furnished in the Korean Army s Instructional Manual covers only traditional methods of instruction such as lecture, demonstration and case study. And there is not any definite plan of instructional media utilization which would help cope with instructional media such as multimedia, VOD, and LAN systems Faculties need to be reinforced with continuing re-education and the functional change in order to effectively meet newly created military needs. Workers in every field find that their skills are out-moded by new inventions or insights, so every profession should provide periodic opportunities for advanced courses. In some occupations, complete re-training rather than a refreshing course is unavoidable due to radical change in instructional media. So far many ISD models applicable to training program have been developed but many pboblems have emerged as well in its actual application for instructional program development, thereby the need for research regarding this area became urgent. This study is designed to develop a program of instructional media utilization in military education, applying the general ADDIE ISD model. The problems in appling the model will also be identified and analyzed. The subject of our research was professors of Korea Military Academy and its procedure was as follow. First, we investigated the current educational situation in which instructional media of military setting was actually employed. Second, based on the outcome derived from the analysis of the training program, we assessed its results through course evaluation report. After that, anyflows on draw back in the ADDIE model applied for the training program were throughly analyzed to come up with efficient counter-measures. Questionnaire result shows that many professors realize the need for workshop on the instructional media utilization. However, they are unable to spare their time for such a workshop. In this research the instructional media utilization develope program with powerpoint was performed. Progessors recognition of the role educational technology is the miltary education became higher than before; and their capabilities of handeling powerpoint and multimedia improved to greater extent. But precise evaluation should be performed on a long-term basis. According to the result, institute improvement need to compensation system ADDIE model s application is procedures of the model and implemantaion s problem. 1) The need for a detailed guide to the analysis of performance problems. 2) The need for a detailed guide to the methods of cost effeciency. 3) The need for a proper evaluation toos and pratical examples. 4) The need for a guide about subvision of the educational methods and selection of the instructional media. According to the result of this study, the following improvements need to be made for a better instructional media utilization program and for a better ADDIE model s performance. 1) Professors systematic workshop must be provide for their professional expansion & maintenance. Programs should be developed based upon systematic education for the professors role reforms, learning principles, classroom management, instructional strategy-teaching methods, writing statement of the performance objectives, evaluation of performance, and the effective and effcient instructional media utilization. 2) Teachers active and willing participation must be emphasized. For the teachers active and willing participation, institutional support should be provide. Participation in the workshop must be a required condition of employment for the newcomer professors. The existing professors must be encouraged to participate in the workshop in connection with faculty evaluation. 3) Construction of the database system with up to date information and long distance educational system and computer lesson room should be implemented as soon as possible. 4) An educational service center should provide programs for testing new instructional media, workshop programs for training prospective teachers who will be qualified in media education. 5) Guidelines for detailed ISD model s applications on various circumstances, instructional delivery, proper media selection, appropriate presentations, and standards must be established. Advanced nations use the automatic system & tools to help ISD expert action, we need to develop the automatic system & tools as well. 6) Finally, we need to improve the existing model for the better to more effectively take care of any businesses at hand that are related to this sbbject, which can be achoeved only through comprehensive and realistic analysis and re-evaluation of current models.
