대학 부설 평생교육원의 미용관련과정 프로그램에 대한 수강생의 만족도 조사

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine how beauty-art course was run at college-affiliated lifelong education institutes in Seoul and Kyonggi Province and how much satisfaction the relevant education programs gave to attendees, in a bid to serve as a basis for more desirable operation of that course and the development of more successful education programs. For that purpose, various kinds of domestic and foreign papers, books, reports, university education program guides and the related Internet homepages were all reviewed for reference. To get more detailed information, an interview was held with the working-level persons in the institutes. A survey was conducted over the trainees who were taking beauty-art course at college-affiliated lifelong education institutes in Seoul and Kyonggi Province to find out their goal and need of taking that course, the scope and method of the programs, and the type of the institute facilities, as a way to analyze their overall satisfaction at the education programs, to seek reform measures, and to discuss what has to be done in the future. The brief findings of this study were as below: Firs, the people who were taking beauty-art course in college-affiliated lifelong education institutes were mostly female, and the greatest number of them were 29 years old or under(73.3%), and were high-school graduates(77.9%). Many of them recognized the necessity of lifelong education in beauty art, and joined it through the introduction or advice of their acquaintance. For the object to take that course, they wanted to acquire knowledge, information or a certificate of study for having completed the course, or believed that it had a close relation to job development. Second, they were little pleased with the education programs as they weren t virtually so applicable to the current job, but they considered it would be helpful sometime in the future. Such an attitude seemed to be related to their goal and need of taking the course. Third, they were relatively contented with the education term and hours of the program they were joining, but the number of class size wasn t satisfactory. Currently, the method of instruction was practice-centered, giving little satisfaction. Besides practice, field study was expected to be added. The instructional management was done well, and they found their instructors relatively satisfactory, yet some of them expressed dissatisfaction at their method of instruction or their preparation for the lesson. Fourth, the use of school facilities wasn t so satisfactory. Specifically, they often felt it inconvenient to use the equipments for practice. Fifth, the extension and use of the information room, relevant books and audio-visual data, the reduction of expensive fee, and the provision of convenience facilities were pointed out as what had to be done. Based on the above-mentioned findings, there are some suggestions about a better operation of the lifelong education institutes: First, the education content and method should be more practical and field-centered to meet diverse learner needs. Second, in order to maximize learning effect, systematic, diverse teaching media should be utilized and the education programs should be run more carefully, not loosely. Third, it s needed to open college facilities, provide convenience facilities, procure more tools and equipments required for practice, and make the information room better, in an attempt to make a good use of the specialty and peculiarity of university that doesn t pursue commercial profit. Fourth, what beauty artists actually want should be analyzed to develop a variety of programs. And to invite more people, the education program should be publicized in more systematic way, and special lecture, seminar or on-line education should be offered. ; 본 연구는 서울·경기지역 대학 부설 평생교육원의 미용관련과정에 대한 운영실정과 프로그램의 전반적인 만족도를 파악하여 앞으로 이들 평생교육원의 바람직한 운영 방안과 프로그램 개발에 근거자료를 마련하고자 하는데 목적을 두었다. 이러한 목적을 위해 국내외의 각종 논문, 단행본, 보고서 등과 각 대학의 교육 프로그램 안내서, 인터넷 홈페이지 등을 참고로 하였으며, 경우에 따라 보다 자세한 사항을 파악하기 위해 각 기관의 실무자와 면담을 실시하였다. 설문조사는 서울·경기지역 대학 부설 평생교육원의 미용관련과정 수강생을 대상으로 수강의 목적과 필요성, 프로그램의 영역, 방법 및 시설형태 등 전반적인 프로그램의 만족도를 분석하여 이에 관한 개선점과 향후 추진과제를 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 조사 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학 부설 평생교육원의 미용관련과정 수강생들 대부분은 미용의 평생교육의 필요성을 인식하여 아는 사람의 소개나 권유로 참여하고 있으며 수강목적은 지식, 정보 및 수료증의 습득과 직업에서 발전과 밀접한 관련이 있다고 응답하였다. 둘째, 실질적으로 현업에 대한 적용도가 떨어져서 프로그램 내용에 대해 그다지 만족하지 못하고 있으나 향후 하려는 일에 도움이 될 것이라고 인식하였다. 이러한 결과는 수강목적과 필요성과 관계가 있는 것으로 본다. 셋째, 현재 수강중인 프로그램이 교육기간과 운영시간에 대해 비교적 만족하고 있으나 수강인원에 대해서는 만족하지 못하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 현 수업방식은 주로 실습위주로 진행되고 있으나 만족하지 못하고 있는 실정으로 실습 뿐만 아니라 현장교육 중심으로 진행되기를 기대했다. 수업관리는 잘 이루어지고 있으며, 담당강사에 대해서는 비교적 만족하나 강사의 수업방식과 수업에 대한 전반적인 준비사항에 일부는 불만족 하는 것으로 보였다. 넷째, 학교시설 활용에 대해 그다지 만족하지 않으며 특히 전공 실습기자재의 이용시 불편을 인식하는 경우가 많이 나타났다. 다섯째, 대학 부설 평생교육원의 미용관련과정에 대한 개선사항은 미용관련 서적 및 영상물 등 정보 자료실의 확충과 활용, 수강료에 대한 부담감, 수강생들의 편의시설을 제공해 주어야 함을 들고 있다. 이 조사결과를 토대로 평생교육원의 바람직한 운영방안을 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프로그램의 교육내용과 방법이 보다 현장중심의 실질적인 방식으로 이루어져 다양한 학습자의 요구사항을 충족시켜주어야 한다. 둘째, 학습효과를 최대한 발휘하기 위해 체계적이고 다양한 교수매체의 활용과 너무 산만하지 않는 운영방안이 요구된다. 셋째, 상업성을 배제한 대학의 특수성과 전문성을 살려서 대학시설 개방과 편의 시설제공, 실습 기자재 확보, 미용관련 정보 자료실 확충 방안이 이루어져야한다. 넷째, 수강생 뿐만 아니라 미용인의 요구를 꾸준히 분석하여 다양한 프로그램 개발과 교육 수혜 대상자 층을 넓히기 위해 교육 프로그램의 체계적·적극적인 홍보, 특강, 세미나, 사이버 교육을 실시해야한다.
