초등학교 아동의 자아개념, 과학적 태도, 학업 성취도간의 상관관계

Abstract

This study conducted with an object of bringing light on relations between self-concept, scientific attitude and academic achievement, most emphasized to students for elementary school science education. The problems dealt with in this study are follows 1. What is the relation between elementary school children s self-concept and science academic achievement? 2. What is the relation between elementary school children s scientific attitude and science academic achievement? 3. What is the relation between elementary school children s self-concept and scientific attitude? To solve the above-mentioned problems, first analyzed the correlations of each factors and then advanced to analyze its element correlations. The subject of this study were 567 elementary school children in Ilsan and finally 453 of then were investigated. As an examination means, self-concept index, scientific attitude index, scientific achievement index were used, and each reliabilities were .72, .84, .76. After putting the examination ANOVA and correlation analysis were accompanied. The results of this study are as follows. 1. The correlation between self-concept and science academic achievement was showed very low(r=.155). Among them, academic self-concept had low correlation with achievement, but social self-concept and physical self-concept nearly show correlation. 2. The correlation between scientific attitude and science academic achievement was showed very low(r=.192). In the low-ranked field correlation, scientific achievement and scientific attitude showed low correlation. and Especially curiosity and cooperation hardly had correlation. 3. The correlation between self-concept and scientific attitude was showed very high(r=.637). Especially academic self-concept showed very closed correlation with voluntariness, social self-concept with cooperation, emotional self-concept and physical self-concept with endurance showed correlation, but low. ; 이 연구는 초등학교 과학 교육에 있어서 자아개념과 과학적 태도, 학업 성취도의 관계를 구명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 구체적인 연구의 문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 아동의 자아개념과 과학 학업 성취도간에는 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 둘째, 초등학교 아동의 과학적 태도와 과학 학업 성취도간에는 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 셋째, 초등학교 아동의 자아개념과 과학적 태도간에는 어떠한 관계가 있는가? 위의 문제를 해결하기 위하여 각 요인간의 전체적인 상관관계를 분석한 후 각 요인의 하위 요소별 상관관계를 분석하였다. 연구 대상은 일산 신도시에 위치한 초등학교 6학년 아동 567명이며 최종적으로 453명의 자료가 분석에 이용되었다. 검사 도구로는 자아개념 척도와 과학적 태도 척도, 과학 학업 성취도 척도가 사용되었으며 신뢰도는 각각 .72, .84, .76이었다. 검사 도구를 투입한 후, 변량분석, 상관분석을 실행하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 자아개념과 학업성취도는 r=.155로 매우 낮은 상관관계를 보였다. 그중에는 학문적 자아개념은 학업 성취도와 약한 상관관계를 가지고 있었으나, 사회적 자아개념과 신체적 자아개념은 거의 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 과학적 태도와 학업 성취도의 상관관계는 r=.192로 매우 낮은 상관을 보였다. 하위 요소별 상관관계에서도 과학적 태도와 학업 성취도는 낮은 상관을 보였으며, 특히 호기심(r=.074)과 협동성(r=.087)은 상관관계가 거의 없음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 자아개념과 과학적 태도의 상관관계는 매우 높게 나타났다(r=.637). 그중에서 학문적 자아개념은 과학적 태도 중 자진성과, 사회적 자아개념은 협동성과 높은 상관관계를 가지고 있었으며, 정서적 자아개념과 신체적 자아개념은 끈기성과 낮지만 정적인 상관관계를 보였다.
