국, 공립과 사립 어린이집의 물리적 환경에 대한 교사들의 인식 비교

Abstract

본 연구는 산업의 급격한 발달과 도시화로 인해 경제 구조가 다양해진 현대 사회에서 여성의 사회적 활동 증가와 더불어 대두된 자녀의 양육문제에 관심을 가지고 시작되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 보육시설 환경의 질이 영·유아의 보육활동과 영·유아의 발달적 활동에 중대한 영향을 미친다는 사실에 주목하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 영·유아의 보육시설인 어린이집이 구비하고 있는 실내·외 놀이 공간과 교재 등에 대한 조사를 통해 현재의 질적수준이 어떠한지를 알아보고 문제점을 규명하여 보다 나은 어린이집의 놀이공간을 구성하는 데 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는 목적을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국·공립과 사립 어린이집의 놀이 공간의 현황을 비교하기 위하여 교사들 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 물리적 환경의 하부요인 인 실내·외 시설과 설비의 안전성의 문항 전체를 평가한 비교에서는 4문항은 차이를 보였고, 4문항은 두 집단 간 통계적인 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 활동실의 공간 구성 및 배치에서는 7항목은 차이를 보였고, 5항목은 두 집단 간 통계적으로 의미있는 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 유아에게 적합한 활동실 구성은 전체적으로 1문항은 차이를 보였고, 3문항은 두 집단 간 차이가 없었다. 넷째, 실외 활동 시설 및 기구의 다양성은 5개 항목 모두에서 두 집단 간 유의수준 .05에서 의미있는 차이를 보였다. 다섯째, 교재·교구의 다양성 정도는 7개의 항목에서 두 집단 간 차이를 보였고, 8개 항목은 차이가 없었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 할 때, 사립 어린이집이 국·공립 어린이집에 비하여 실외활동 공간이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이에 대한 보완이 요구된다. 즉, 사립 어린이집들의 경우 국·공립에 비하여 더 많은 실외공간의 구성이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 또한 교재의 구비에 있어서도 사립은 국·공립에 비하여 더 많은 교구를 아동들에게 제공할 수 있도록 하여야 할 것으로 분석되었다. ; This study aims to investigate diversity in outdoor and indoor play facilities and play material and equipments, and at the same time to ascertain whether there exist differences in quality according to the types of establishment. The purpose of the study is also to analyze the quality - assessment factors and sub-item in child care centers. The subjects treated in the study are as follows ; First, how is the outdoor and indoor play facilities quality in private child care centers and national/public child care centers ? Second, how is the diversity in play materials and equipments in private child care centers and national/public child care centers ? The sample of the study was 195 child care teachers working in child care centers ; 95 of whom were from national/public child care centers, 100 were from private child care centers. The basic assessment scale was the Assessment Scale for Early Childhood Programs by Unhai Rhee and Kisook Lee(1996), but it was modified and complemented to be applied to the assessment of child care centers. The main survey was conducted in Seoul city from 10, October 1998 to 24, October 1998. The analyzing method of materials was, first to get an average of total points, and then to compare the average points so as to analyze the private child care centers and national/public child care centers and the differences in quality according to 5 assessment factors and 44 sub - item. The final findings from this study on the quality in child care centers may be summarized as follows ; First, there is no a significance difference in outdoor and indoor play facilities and safety management. Second, there is no a significance difference in organization and placement of indoor play space. This factor was best managed in most child care centers in terms quality. Third, there is a meaningful difference in organization indoor play space accord in the child. Forth, there is a meaningful difference in diversity in outdoor play facilities and equipment. This factor was the lowest of all factors. Fifth. there is no a significance difference in diversity in play materials and equipments.
