유치원 교사의 이미지에 관한 연구 : 인천광역시를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구에서는 우리 나라 유치원 교사의 이미지를 구성요소를 근거로 하여 알아보고, 유치원 교사의 이미지가 가지는 의미를 페미니스트 적인 관점에서 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이와 같은 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 1. 유치원 교사의 이미지에는 어떠한 이미지가 있으며, 어떠한 이미지 구성 요소가 포함되어 있는가? 2. 유치원 교사의 이미지는 무엇이며, 페미니스트 적인 관점에서의 의미는 무엇인가? 본 연구의 대상은 인천에 거주하는 자녀를 둔 30대 중반에서 40대 중반의 학부모 20명이다. 연구방법은 유치원 교사의 이미지를 알아보고자 비 형식적인 인터뷰를 실시하였다. 분석은 유치원교사의 이미지에 대한 내용분석과, 내용분석에 의해 나타난 교사의 이미지의 구성요소와 이미지에 대한 빈도 분석으로 이루어졌다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유치원 교사의 이미지를 내용 분석한 결과 유치원 교사의 이미지를 구성하는 요소가 다음과 같이 나타났다. 즉 역할과 자질 그리고 전문성의 세 가지 요소이다. 그리고 구성요소를 바탕으로 유치원 교사의 이미지를 추출한 결과 교육전문가 , 부모 , 의욕적인 사람 , 순수한 사람 , 예쁘고 다재다능한 사람 , 힘든 일을 하는 사람 의 이미지가 나타났다. 둘째, 유치원 교사의 이미지 구성요소중 학부모들이 가장 중요하게 인식하고 있는 요소는 자질(52.48%)이었고 다음으로 역할(39.47%)그리고 마지막으로 전문성(8.06%)이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 이미지 구성요소를 바탕으로 추출한 유치원 교사의 이미지 중 가장 높게 나타난 이미지는 교육전문가 (49.59%)였고, 다음으로 부모 (17.15%), 힘든 일을 하는 사람 (10.54%), 의욕적인 사람 (9.30%), 순수한 사람 (7.85%), 예쁘고 다재다능한 사람 (5.58%) 순으로 나타났다. 유치원 교사의 이미지 중 교육전문가 , 부모 그리고 의욕적인 사람 이 전체의 76%이상 나타난 것은 교사로서의 사랑을 중요시하는 페미니스트 적인 관점과 견해를 같이한다고 볼 수 있다. ; The purpose of this study is to find out the images exhibited by kindergarten teachers by studying factors as well as pattern of characteristic of kindergarten s image and that may reflect on teachers images, in studying the feminine image expected on teachers and its significance on young children. The following areas of study were selected to accomplish such purpose. 1. What classifications of teacher images can be made on the basis of factors that make up the images? 2. What are the most influencing factors in the formation of the teachers images? The subjects used for this study consisted of 20 parents in their mid-thirties and forties of age who have children and live in Inchon City. The method of study was open interview; interviews were conducted to find out the images held by kindergarten teachers focusing on factors and character that make-up such images. Analysis of the interview findings included studying and classifying various images interpreted in terms of the image make-up factors and character and the correlations between the image of teachers and image factors. The result of the study are as follow; First, the images exhibited by kindergarten teachers in terms of the image make-up factors were quality, role and professionalism. And pattern of characteristic of kindergarten s image were `educational professionalist , `parent , `enthusiastic person , `pretty and talented person , `pure person , and `hard working person . Secondly, among the image make-up factors, parents counted as the most influential and important factor quality(52.48%) followed by role (39.46%) and professionahsm(8.06%) the least important. As for the images exhibited by teachers, nearly half of the parents regarded their children s teachers in `educational professionalist (49.59%), while 17.15% saw teachers in `parent and 10.54% in `hard working person and 9.29% in `enthusiastic person . Also, some parents regarded teachers as `pure person (7.85%) and pretty and talented person (5.58%). Tenderness and love judging from the fact that two-third of parents selected `educational professionalist , `parent and `enthusiastic person and the most appropriate images describing their teachers are correlated with intimacy, commitment and passion in feminist research.
