탐구수업을 위한 학습자료 이용실태 조사 : 기숙사 고등학교를 중심으로

Abstract

본고는 사회과의 목표가 ‘지적인 탐구 능력과 문제 해결능력을 보유한 민주 시민을 양성하는 것’이고 목표를 달성하기 위해서는 탐구능력과 문제 해결 능력을 제고시키는 훈련이 진행되어야 한다는 점에 주목하였다. 탐구수업은 탐구능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 수업 방법이고 탐구수업을 위해서는 다양한 학습자료를 분석하고, 평가하는 능력이 뒷받침되어야 한다. 본고는 이러한 점에 착안하여, 학습자료에 접근하기가 상대적으로 어려울 것으로 예상되는 기숙사 고등학교의 탐구수업 현황과 학습자료 이용 현황에 연구의 초점을 맞추었다. 본 연구의 II장에서는 사회과의 목표와 탐구학습의 중요성을 살펴보았다. 다음으로 탐구학습 모형을 고찰하고 탐구학습을 할 때 학습자료가 어떠한 중요성을 갖는지 파악하였다. 연구를 위하여 우리 나라의 사회과 교육과정을 살펴보았다. 본 논문의 III 장에서는 실제로 학교 현장에서 탐구학습이 어떻게 이용되는지 사회과 담당 교사를 상대로 하여 탐색하였다. 또, 학생들이 어떻게 학습자료를 수집하는지 조사해 보았다. 조사를 위해서 학생들과 함께 특정한 주제에 대한 탐구수업을 실시하였다. 탐구수업을 진행했던 학생들을 대상으로 탐구수업 진행시의 어려움에 대하여 질문하였다. 기숙사 학교와 비기숙사 학교로 분류하여 학생들의 응답 내용을 분석하였다. 아울러, 학생들이 학습자료를 얼마나 자주 이용하는지에 대한 질문을 해서 역시, 기숙사 학교와 비기숙사 학교로 분류하여 내용을 분석해 보았다. 본고는 이러한 연구 과정을 통하여 기숙사 학교에서 학습자료를 이용의 문제점을 파악하고, 이를 바탕으로 하여 탐구수업을 활성화시키기 위한 여러 가지 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. ; This study paid attention to the fact that the goal of social studies is to cultivate democratic citizens with intellectual inquisitive and problem solving abilities and to reach this goal training should be carried out to reinforce students inquisitive and problem solving abilities. Inquiry class is a way to improve inquisitive ability, and in this class students should have abilities of analyzing and evaluating various study data. Considering this, the author of this study focused the study on the present conditions of inquiry class and study data use at dormitory high schools which seem to have difficulties in approaching to study data. In the 2nd chapter of this study, the goal of social studies and the importance of inquiry class are investigated. And then models of inquiry class are looked at, and the importance of study data in this class is discussed. For these investigations, the author examined the present social studies curriculum of our country. In the 3rd chapter, the actual execution of inquiry class in the school scene is explored through asking teachers in charge of social studies. Also the author examined how students collect study data. For this examination, an inquiry class on a specific theme was carried out to students. And then students who participated in that class were given questions about difficulties in class. Their responses were classified into those of dormitory school and those of non-dormitory school and analyzed. In addition to this, the frequency of using study data were asked and students responses were again classified into those of dormitory group and those of non-dormitory group and analyzed. Through this process of research, the author of this study tried to understand problems in the study data use of dormitory schools and to present various directions for activating inquiry class based upon this understanding.
