실내·외 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to observe children‘s emotional expressions in indoors and outdoor free choice activities and to recognize the point of differences about the children's emotional expressions according to existence or nonexistence of peers and teachers. The research questions set up for those are as follows. 1. How are children's emotional expressions generally appeared in indoor free choice activities? 1-1. How are children's emotional expressions according to existence or nonexistence of peers appeared in indoor free choice activities? 1-2. How are children's emotional expressions according to existence or nonexistence of teachers appeared in indoor free choice activities? 2. How are children's emotional expressions generally appeared in outdoor free choice activities? 2-1. How are children's emotional expressions according to existence or nonexistence of peers appeared in outdoor free choice activities? 2-2. How are children's emotional expressions according to existence or nonexistence of teachers appeared in outdoor free choice activities? 3. Are there any differences about children's emotional expressions between indoor and outdoor free choice activities? This study was examined for 24 children at the age of 5 class of S Kindergarten located in Incheon. In order to inspect children's emotional expressions in indoor and outdoor free choice activities, observational study was done to know the indoor and outdoor free choice activities through time sampling method. To study children's emotional expressions in indoor and outdoor free choice activities, the research tool of Minyoung Han(2009) adopted from Hubbard(2001) was used after partial correcion and complement. Emotion that children express in indoor and outdoor free choice activities was divided into interest, pleasure, sorrow and anger and also, it was split into facial expression, intonation and nonverbal behavior categories. Those were recorded on the observation paper. Frequency Analysis to calculate frequency and percentage was used for the general tendency and independent sample t-test was used for emotional expressions according to existence or nonexistence of peers and teachers lastly, according to indoors and outdoors . The findings were as follows: Firstly, children felt interest and pleasure in indoor and outdoor free choice activities. Especially interest and pleasure expressed with facial expression were outstanding in indoor free choice activities and interest expressed with facial expression and pleasure expressed with facial expression, intonation and nonverbal behavior were remarkable in outdoor free choice activities. Secondly, children expressed emotion more actively when they were with peers. Especially interest, pleasure and anger were expressed frequently with facial expression and intonation in indoor free choice activities. In outdoor free choice activities, pleasure and anger were shown frequently in particular pleasure with facial expression, intonation and nonverbal behavior were noticeable. Third, children expressed interest, pleasure and anger with facial expression, intonation and nonverbal behavior frequently when they were without teachers. Lastly, there are no outstanding differences about children's emotional expressions between indoor and outdoor free choice activities. However children expressed pleasure with facial expression and nonverbal behavior more frequently in outdoor free choice activities than indoor free choice activities.;본 연구는 실내ㆍ외 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현에 대해 알아보고 또래 및 교사 유무에 따라 유아의 정서표현에 어떠한 차이가 있는지, 또한 실내ㆍ외 공간에 따라 유아의 정서표현이 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 실내 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현은 어떠한가? 1-1. 또래의 유무에 따라 실내 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현은 어떠한가? 1-2. 교사의 유무에 따라 실내 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현은 어떠한가? 2. 실외 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현은 어떠한가? 2-1. 또래의 유무에 따라 실외 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현은 어떠한가? 2-2. 교사의 유무에 따라 실외 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현은 어떠한가? 3. 유아의 정서표현은 실내 자유놀이와 실외 자유놀이에 따라 차이가 있는가? 본 연구의 대상은 인천시에 위치한 S병설유치원 만5세반 유아 24명이다. 실내ㆍ외 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현을 알아보기 위해 시간표집법을 이용하여 연구를 실행하였다. 본 연구에서는 유아의 정서표현을 알아보기 위해 Hubbard(2001)모형을 수정하여 사용한 안라리(2005)의 연구도구를 일부 수정 및 보완하여 사용한 한민영(2009)의 연구도구를 사용하였다. 유아가 표현하는 정서를 흥미, 기쁨, 슬픔, 화남으로 나누고 이를 다시 얼굴표정, 억양, 비언어적 행동으로 나누어 관찰하여 정서표현 관찰지에 기록하였다. 유아의 정서표현 경향을 알아보기 위하여 각 정서의 빈도수의 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였다. 또한 또래 유무 및 교사 유무, 실내ㆍ외 공간에 따른 자유놀이의 비교를 위하여 종속표본 t검정을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실내ㆍ외 자유놀이에서 유아는 흥미와 기쁨의 긍정적인 정서를 빈번하게 표현하였다. 특히 실내 자유놀이에서 얼굴표정으로 표현하는 흥미와 기쁨이 두드러지게 많이 나타났다. 실외 자유놀이에서는 흥미의 얼굴표정이 많이 나타났고 기쁨은 얼굴표정, 억양, 비언어적 행동 모두에서 고르게 나타났다. 그 다음으로 화남, 슬픔 순이었다. 둘째, 실내ㆍ외 자유놀이에서 유아는 또래와 함께 할 때 다양한 정서를 표현하였다. 실내 자유놀이에서는 흥미, 기쁨, 화남에서 또래와 있을 때 활발하게 자신의 정서를 표현하였고 특히 얼굴표정과 억양에서 유의미했다. 실외 자유놀이에서는 기쁨, 화남에서 또래와 있을 때 활발하게 자신의 정서를 표현하였고 특히 기쁨의 얼굴표정, 억양, 비언어적 행동에서 유의미했다. 셋째, 실내ㆍ외 자유놀이에서 유아는 교사와 함께 하지 않을 때 흥미, 기쁨, 화남을 빈번하게 표현했다. 특히 흥미와 기쁨, 화남의 얼굴표정, 억양, 비언어적 행동 모두에서 유의미했다. 넷째, 실내 자유놀이와 실외 자유놀이에서 나타나는 유아의 정서표현에 유의미한 차이는 없었으나 얼굴표정, 억양, 비언어적 행동의 세부범주에서 나타나는 정서표현에서는 실외 자유놀이에서 기쁨의 억양과 비언어적 행동을 더 빈번하게 표현하는 것으로 나타났다.
