국내 작곡 콩쿠르 및 공모전의 유형별 현황 연구

Abstract

작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전은 재능 있는 인재를 등용하고 좋은 작품을 발굴하여 연주하는데 의의를 두고 개최되어 전공자들에게 공평한 창작의 기회를 주고 그들의 의욕을 고취시키고 작품 발표의 기회를 제공하는 역할을 한다. 본 연구의 목적은 국내에서 개최되고 있는 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전, 여름캠프를 중심으로 유형을 분류하여 개최목적과 작품제출규정 등의 현황을 파악하고 분석하여 작곡을 전공하는 전공자들에게 작곡콩쿠르와 공모전에 대한 기초자료를 제공하고 나아가 발전방향을 모색하는데 있다. 국내에서 개최되고 있는 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전, 작곡 캠프를 대상으로 하여 대학에서 작곡을 전공하고 있는 전공자들이 참가할 수 있는 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전만을 조사대상으로 하여 현황을 분류하고 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 콩쿠르와 공모전의 개최취지는 유능한 신인의 발굴과 창작 작품의 확충하는데 있다. 참가자격에 제한을 두는 것은 대학생들과 젊은 작곡가들에게 더 많은 기회를 제공하기 위함이며, 콩쿠르와 공모전을 개최하는 데 있어 신인을 발굴하는 것에 그치지 않고 작품의 연주기회를 부여하는 등의 지속적인 지원이 이루어져야 한다. 둘째, 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전의 제출 작품 규정은 실내악, 가곡 및 합창곡, 관현악 및 협주곡, 피아노 부문으로 4개의 모집부문으로 분류할 수 있었으며, 콩쿠르와 공모전에 참가하는 작곡 전공자들은 각자 원하는 작품 부문에 참가할 수 있다. 셋째, 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전에서의 심사는 악보심사와 연주심사로 이루어지고 있었다. 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전의 심사는 공정하게 이루어져야 하며, 주최기관에서 심사에 대한 기준을 정하고 그에 따른 심사위원을 위촉하고 심사결과를 공개하여 공정하게 심사함으로써 콩쿠르와 공모전의 권위를 지켜야 한다. 넷째, 시상은 최고상을 기준으로 1위 또는 대상이 시상되고 있으며, 상장과 상금이 수여되고 있다. 또한 대부분의 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전에서는 특전으로 연주 기회를 부여하고 있는 것으로 나타났는데, 한번의 연주기회를 부여하는 것에 그치지 않고 지속적으로 연주기회를 제공하여 창작곡의 연주 활성화에 기여해야 할 것이다. 대학에서 작곡을 전공하는 전공자들은 학교의 정기연주회를 통해 연주가 이루어지는 것이 대부분으로, 이것만으로는 작품 연주가 활발히 이루어진다고 할 수 없다. 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전의 참가를 통해 작곡 전공자들은 그 준비 과정에서 자신의 기량을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 권위 있는 콩쿠르에서의 입상은 작곡가로 나아가는 등용문이 된다. 따라서 작곡 전공자들은 자신의 실력을 인정받고 작품 연주의 기회를 얻고자 한다면, 자기 작품을 인정받을 수 있는 자신에게 맞는 콩쿠르와 공모전에 지원해야 한다. 작곡 콩쿠르와 공모전의 적극적인 참여는 창작음악의 활성화로 이어지며 나아가 국내의 창작문화를 이끌어 나가는 작품들의 발표는 한국 창작음악 발전에 크게 기여하고 있다.;Composition contests and competitions are held in purpose of recruiting talented people to perform good works. They promote the students majoring in composition by providing fair opportunities for creation and presentation of their work. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the composition-major students and to seek for future direction for development. To do so, this study classified and analyzed currently held competitions, contests, and summer camps in Korea for their purposes and submission rules. The subject of this study is composition contests and competitions in Korea those of which allow only composition majored participants. The results of this study are as follows: First, the purpose of the competition and contest is to discover the creative work of the talented. Placing restrictions on eligibility is to provide more opportunities for college students and young composers. Moreover, the competition and contest should give ongoing support such as providing opportunities for presentation of the work. Second, the regulation of submission can be classified into four categories; chamber music, songs and choruses, orchestral music and concertos, and piano sector. The participants can be in the sector they choose. Third, the screening was conducted by both score assessment and performance assessment. The process should be fair to maintain the authority of the competition and contest the organizers should set the standards for the screening, appoint the right judges and release the result in public. Fourth, the award certificate and reward is given to the 1st place or the Grand Prix. Most competitions and contests provide a privilege for performance of their work. More to this, it should provide ongoing opportunities for performance for vitalization of the work. The subscription concert of the school is the most common, but limited way for the composition-majored students to perform their work. The preparation process of contests and competitions helps participants to improve their skills. Moreover, winning the prestigious competition can open careers as a composer. Therefore, composition-majors should apply for the right contest and competition in order to receive recognition and get opportunity for play. The active participation in contest and competition leads to activation of creative music and further result in development of Korean contemporary music.
