비즈니스 한국어 교육을 위한 기본 어휘 선정 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 한국어 사용 환경에서 근무하는 사무직 외국인 직장인들을 위한 한국어 교육용 ‘비즈니스 한국어 기본 어휘’ 를 선정하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구에서 뜻하는 ‘비즈니스 한국어 기본 어휘’ 란 사무직 수행 상황에서 사용하는 모든 어휘 중 한국어 학습자용 기본 어휘 혹은 전문 어휘가 아닌 것으로 정의된다. 이에 말뭉치 언어학의 방법론에 의거하여 원시 말뭉치를 구축하고, 기초 어휘와 전문 어휘를 제거하는 방식으로 어휘 목록을 추출하였다. 구축한 말뭉치의 대상은 현재 국내 기업의 인력개발 부서에서 신입 사원 입사 교육을 위해 자체 제작하여 사용하고 있는 ‘신입사원 연수 교재’이다. 13곳의 기업에서 사용하고 있는 총 22권의 입문 교재 및 부교재를 수집하여 347,544어절 규모의 원시 말뭉치를 구축하였다. 구축한 말뭉치를 대상으로 형태 분석 작업을 수행한 후, 어절 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도를 산출하였다. 이어 조남호 외(2003)의 ‘한국어 학습용 기본 어휘’의 A등급 어휘와 전문 어휘를 제거하여 전문가의 검증을 거친 후, 고 빈도 순으로 총 909개의 비즈니스 한국어 기본 어휘 목록을 산출하였다. 어휘 목록의 제시는 대표 어휘를 기준으로 하였고, 구축한 말뭉치로부터 비즈니스 사회 특유의 어휘 사용 형태를 보여주는 파생어 자료를 추출하여 목록과 함께 제시함으로써 효율적인 학습 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 더불어 보다 핵심적인 비즈니스 기본 어휘를 별도로 제시하기 위하여 말뭉치를 각 기업별로 비교하는 과정을 거쳤다. 구축한 형태 분석 말뭉치를 기업별로 분리한 후, 과반수인 7개 기업에 걸쳐 나타나는 어휘를 대상으로 선정 작업을 수행하였다. 그리고 이렇게 선정된 어휘 중 앞서 선정한 기본 어휘 목록과 중복되는 고 빈도 어휘를 대상으로 하여 168개의 ‘비즈니스 한국어 핵심 기본 어휘’ 를 구분하여 제시하였다. 본 연구는 비즈니스 사회에서 한국어로 업무를 수행하는 외국인 직장인들의 기본적인 언어 사용을 위한 어휘 목록을 제공함으로써, 직업 목적의 한국어 교육을 위한 실질적인 어휘 자료를 제공하였다는 의의를 가진다. 나날이 증가하는 비즈니스 한국어 학습자에 비하여 교육 자료가 현저히 부족한 현재 비즈니스 한국어 교육 분야의 실정에 입각하여, 교육 과정 및 교재 개발에 있어 참고할만한 자료를 제공함으로써 비즈니스 한국어 교육의 발전에 기여하고자 하였다.;This study aims to select 'fundamental vocabularies of business Korean' for teaching Korean for foreign office workers who work where Korean is mostly used. 'fundamental vocabularies of business Korean' are considered that are neither basic ones for learners nor technical vocabularies among all the vocabularies used under the office work situation. Thus, the raw corpus is built based on the methodology of corpus linguistics. The vocabulary list is extracted by getting rid of basic and technical vocabularies. The subjects of corpus established are 'training materials for new employees' being currently used in the development of human resources in Korean companies. Total 22 volumes of introduction and auxiliary textbooks are collected from 13 companies and the raw corpus with 347,544 words is established. After the analysis on the established corpus is performed, the frequency is calculated using word count & frequency statistics software. Then, level A vocabularies from "basic vocabularies for Korean language learners" by Cho et al.(2003) and technical vocabularies are excluded. Total 909 vocabularies are extracted as fundamental vocabulary list of business Korean through the verification process by professionals. Based on the representative vocabularies, the vocabulary list is presented as a efficient learning material with derivative material extracted to show the specific type of vocabularies use in the business society. In addition, the corpus is compared for each company to suggest more essential business vocabularies separately. The corpus that the analysis of vocabulary form is completed is classified by company and the essential vocabularies are selected. Then, the same vocabularies from the essential vocabulary list and previously selected fundamental list are identified as 168 'essential fundamental vocabulary for business'. This study has a great significance in that the practical vocabulary material is offered for Korean learners under the job situation by making the vocabulary list for foreign official workers who perform job using Korean language under business society. Since there is a shortage of teaching materials for learners of business Korean currently even though the number of learners are enormously increasing day by day, this study is intended to contribute to the progress of teaching business Korean by offering the reference material for curriculum and development of textbooks.
