정교회 및 정교문화권에 대한 바른 이해

Abstract

본 논문은 중, 고등학생들을 대상으로 하는 세계사 수업에서 정교회와 정교문화권에 대한 바른 이해를 제공하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 정교회에 대한 연구는 주로 신학적인 입장에서 연구되기 때문에 내용이 너무 전문적이다. 이는 개론적인 수준을 요하는 고등학생이나 일반인들에게 이해되기는 힘든 내용이다. 정교회에 대한 학문적인 연구는 비잔틴 제국사의 일부로 다루어지거나, 슬라브 문화권을 연구하는 지역 연구의 일환으로 다루어지는 등 정보가 여기저기 흩어져 있다. 더구나 고등학교 세계사 교과서에서는 정교회와 정교문화권에 대한 서술이 불충분하여, 고등학생들뿐만 아니라 교사들 혹은 개인적인 관심 때문에 정교회에 대해서 알고 싶어 하는 사람들은 정교회에 대한 궁금증을 쉽게 해결하지 못한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정교회에 대해서 신학적으로나 학문적으로 흩어져 있는 정보를 수집하여 교과과정 상에 준하는 내용으로 정리한다. 이로써 정교회에 대한 불충분한 교과서의 설명을 보충하고 교과서 상의 오류를 수정하여 학생들이 정교회에 대한 이해를 도모할 수 있도록 한다. 아울러 고등학교 학생들이 현재 러시아 및 동유럽권의 사람들의 생활 모습을 그들의 종교, 즉 정교회와 관련시켜 이해하는 것은 세계화 시대에 문화의 다양성을 이해하는 측면에서 중요한 일이라 할 수 있다. 이에 위와 같은 내용을 효과적으로 구현 할 수 있는 수업방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 TV다큐멘터리 프로그램을 활용하는 수업 방안을 고안하였다. 제한된 수업 시수를 감안하여 TV다큐멘터리는 수업 내용에 부합되는 부분을 편집하여 활용하였다. 본 연구는 세계사 교육에서 그동안 소홀히 다루어 주제에 접근하여 내용을 체계적으로 정리하고, 주변에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 자료를 수업에 활용함으로써 학생들이 정교회에 대해서 친숙하게 다가갈 수 있는 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것으로 기대해 본다.;This study aims to provide more correct understanding of the Orthodox Church and the cultural sphere of the Orthodox Church in world history course for middle and high school students. Studies of the Orthodox Church have been too professional because most of them are carried out from theological points of view. Such studies are too difficult for high school students and the general public to understand that merely require overview information. Academic studies of the Orthodox Church are dispersed as part of the history of the Byzantine Empire, or as part of the regional studies of Slav cultural sphere. Moreover, descriptions of the Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church cultural sphere are insufficient in high school world history textbooks for school teachers and those who want to learn more about the Greek Church out of personal interest as well as high school students to easily satisfy their curiosity about the church. In this regard, this study collected such dispersed information on the Orthodox Church either theologically or academically and rearrange the information to meet the requirements of school textbook curriculum so as to help students to understand the Orthodox Church by complementing insufficient explanations about the Orthodox Church in the school textbooks and correcting the errors in them. In addition, it can help high school students to understand the lives of present Russia and East Europe in relation with the Orthodox Church to help their understanding of cultural diversity of the global era. In this regard, this study aims to propose class methods to implement such objectives effectively. This study proposes plans for using TV documentary programs in studies. Considering the limited class hours, this study used edited part of the TV documentaries that correspond with class contents. By systematically rearranging contents so far neglected in world history classes in approaching subjects and utilizing contents easily acquired around daily lives, this study expects students will be able to use opportunities to approach the Orthodox Church feeling more at home.
