외국인을 위한 한국어 자모교육 소프트웨어

Abstract

한글의 음절은 다른 언어와 달리 초성, 중성, 종성을 포함한다. 따라서 한국어를 배우는 외국인 학습자가 한글의 구성 원리를 이해하는 것과 정확한 발음을 구사하는 것이 쉽지 않다. 이를 위해서는, 자모학습단계에서 초성이 되는 자음, 중성이 되는 모음, 종성이 되는 자음의 생김새 및 발음을 정확하게 인지하고 그것의 조합으로 이루어지는 음절의 생김새를 익히고, 각 음절의 발음을 정확하게 할 수 있도록 꾸준히 연습하는 것이 필요하다. 음절의 정확한 발음 연습을 통해 추후 학습단계에서 글을 읽고 대화를 할 때에도 정확한 발음을 구사할 수 있을 것이다. 이 논문에서는 한국어를 배우는 외국인 학습자가 한글의 구성 원리를 이해하고, 음절 발음을 정확하게 할 수 있도록 돕는 소프트웨어를 설계하고 구현하였다. 기존의 소프트웨어에서 일부 음절의 발음과 형태를 제공하는 것과 달리 초성과 중성, 종성의 결합으로 이루어질 수 있는 모든 조합형 음절의 형태 및 발음을 제공하는 프로그램을 제안한다. 학습자는 프로그램의 음절을 청취하고, 발음을 따라하는 것으로써 정확한 발음을 학습해나갈 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 해당 음절을 포함하는 어휘와 어휘의 발음도 함께 제공함으로써 다음 단계의 학습으로 나아가는 것을 돕고자 하였다. 이 논문에서 제안하는 프로그램을 외국인 학습자에게 직접 사용해보도록 하고, 발음을 듣고 잘 따라할 수 있는지, 주어지는 음절이 위치한 곳을 잘 찾아낼 수 있는지, 기타 사용상의 불편한 점은 없는지 등을 확인하였다. 그리고 그것을 토대로 더욱 효과적인 학습을 위해 프로그램을 어떻게 수정할 것인지를 생각해보았다. 테스트와 수정 작업을 반복하면, 보다 학습자에게 유용하고 효과적인 소프트웨어가 될 것으로 기대한다.;The syllable of Hangul contains initial consonants, medial vowels and final consonants, unlike another language. So, foreigners hard to learn shape and pronunciation the Hangul. At First, recognizing shape and correct pronunciation of the each consonant and vowel is important. Then, foreign learners can pronounce the syllable correctly. Through practice of the correct pronunciation of the syllable, foreign students can speak with correct pronunciation even when they read aloud and dialogue in later stage (next step). This study intends to design and implement computer software for helping foreign learner who want to pronounce the syllables of Hangul correctly. Unlike existing softwares which have provided only part of syllables, this software provides shape and pronunciation of every possible Hangul syllable which is composed by initial consonant, medial vowel and final consonant. In addition, this program provides pronunciation of that vocabulary, as well as vocabulary containing the syllables and it helps learners to go on next training step. Through applying this program to foreign learners, this study confirmed whether they can repeat pronunciation of the syllable or not, whether they can find where the syllable is located in this program and whether they can use it comfortably. And based on the result, if this program is tested and modified continually, it will be more useful and effective for Korean education.
