2007년 개정 유치원 교육과정에 따른 ‘유치원 지도서’의 사회생활영역 관련 활동 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 ‘유치원 지도서’의 사회생활영역 관련 활동의 경향을 알아보고, 유아사회교육의 과정(사고와 개념 형성, 사회적 기술, 문화ㆍ다양성과 가치)과 내용(사회, 역사, 지리, 경제, 정치, 국제관계, 생태학)에 따라 분석해 보는 것이다. 이에 따른 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 2007년 개정 유치원 교육과정에 따른 ‘유치원 지도서’의 사회생활영역 관련 활동의 분포 경향은 어떠한가? 2. 2007년 개정 유치원 교육과정에 따른 ‘유치원 지도서’의 사회생활영역 관련 활동에 포함된 유아사회교육 과정의 전체적 경향, 생활 주제별, 연령별 경향은 어떠한가? 3. 2007년 개정 유치원 교육과정에 따른 ‘유치원 지도서’의 사회생활영역 관련 활동에 포함된 유아사회교육 내용의 전체적 경향, 생활 주제별, 연령별 경향은 어떠한가? 본 연구의 대상은 2007년 개정 유치원 교육과정에 기초하여 교육과학기술부(2009)가 발행한 ‘유치원 지도서’ 총 13권 중 총론과 종일반 2권을 제외한 나머지 총 11권에 포함된 사회생활영역 관련 활동 752개이다. ‘유치원 지도서’의 사회생활영역 관련 활동 분석을 위한 연구 도구는 Seefeldt, Castle과 Falconer(2009)가 제시한 유아사회교육 과정과 내용의 분류에 기초하였으며,내용에 이영자ㆍ유효순ㆍ이정욱(2004)이 제시한 사회와 생태학을 추가하였다. 자료의 분석을 위해서는 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회생활영역 관련 활동의 비중은 생활 주제별 지도서에 수록된 총 활동수의 51.3%를 차지하였다. 생활 주제별로 사회생활영역 관련 활동의 분포를 살펴본 결과, 사회생활영역 관련 활동은 우리나라, 나와 가족, 세계 여러 나라, 유치원과 친구, 우리 동네, 건강과 안전, 교통 기관, 봄ㆍ여름ㆍ가을ㆍ겨울, 생활 도구, 환경과 생활, 동식물과 자연 순으로 많이 포함되어 있었다. 연령별로 사회생활영역 관련 활동의 분포를 살펴본 결과는 만 5세의 사회생활영역 관련 활동수가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 만 4세, 만 3세 순으로 사회생활영역 관련 활동수가 줄어드는 것을 알 수 있었다. 활동 유형별로 사회생활영역 관련 활동의 분포를 살펴본 결과는 자유선택활동과 대ㆍ소집단 활동이 대체로 비슷한 빈도를 나타냈다. 둘째, 사회생활영역 관련 활동을 유아사회교육의 과정적 측면에서 분석해 보면, 전체적 경향에서는 사고와 개념 형성이 가장 높은 빈도를 나타냈으며, 사회적 기술, 문화ㆍ다양성과 가치 순으로 나타났다. 생활 주제별 경향을 살펴본 결과, ‘유치원과 친구’는 사회적 기술, ‘우리나라’, ‘세계 여러 나라’는 문화ㆍ다양성과 가치를 많이 포함하고 있었다. 연령별 경향을 살펴본 결과, 만 3세는 사회적 기술, 사고와 개념 형성, 문화ㆍ다양성과 가치 순으로 높은 빈도를 나타냈고, 만 4, 5세는 사고와 개념 형성, 사회적 기술, 문화ㆍ다양성과 가치 순으로 높은 빈도를 나타냈다. 셋째, 사회생활영역 관련 활동을 유아사회교육의 내용적 측면에서 분석해 보면, 전체적 경향에서는 사회가 가장 높은 빈도를 보였으며, 다음으로 정치, 역사, 국제관계, 경제, 생태학 순으로 나타났으며, 지리는 가장 낮은 빈도를 나타내었다. 생활 주제별 경향을 살펴본 결과, ‘사회’는 나와 가족, ‘역사’는 우리나라, ‘국제관계’는 세계 여러 나라에 70%이상의 비중이 집중된 것으로 나타났다. 또한 ‘지리’는 우리 동네, ‘경제’는 생활 도구, ‘정치’는 건강과 안전, ‘생태학’은 봄ㆍ여름ㆍ가을ㆍ겨울에서 비중이 가장 높게 나타났다. 연령별 경향을 살펴본 결과, 만 3, 4, 5세 모두 ‘사회’가 30% 이상의 높은 비중을 차지하고 있고, 상대적으로 다른 범주의 활동들은 적게 다루어지고 있었다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate the trend of activities related to the scope of social life of the preschool teaching guidebook and to analyze the processes (thinking and concept formation, social skills, culture, diversity and values) and contents (society, history, geography, economy, politics, global connections, biology) of children's social education. The definite research issues are as follows. 1. What is the trend of distribution of activities on the scope of social life related to the Preschool teaching guidebook in accordance with revised educational course in 2007 2. What is the trend of educational course in general, life in terms of every subject and age group which are included in the activities of social life area of Preschool teaching guidebook based on the revised educational processes in 2007. 3. What is the trend of educational course in general, life in terms of every subject and age group which are included in the activities of social life area of Preschool guide book based on the revised educational contents in 2007. This study is based on the 752 activities related to social life area that included in the 11 number of books out of total 13 number of books of preschool teaching guidebook (excluded 2 book of General instruction & Full - time class) issued by Ministry of education science & technology(2009) in accordance with Preschool educational course revised in 2007. Tools for the study in analyzing activities related to social life area in the Preschool guidebook are based on the classification of proceeding & detail of children social education presented by Seefeldt, Castle and Falconer(2009), and society & biology presented by Lee YJ, Yu HS, Lee JW were added on top of it. For the analysis of materials, the frequency & percentage methods are applied. The summary of this study are as follows. Firstly, The weight of activities related to social life area shared 51.3% of total activities recorded in the guide book based on the subject of social life. According to the result of the study regarding the distribution of the activities related to social life area based on the subject of social life, it is analyzed to have been dealt with our nation, me & my family, preschool & friends, our village, health & safety, transportation institution, spring, summer, fall, winter, life tools, environment & life, animals, plants & nature in descending order. Those result in terms of age for the distribution of activities related to social life area, the highest group for activities of social life area turned out to be 5th year old age group and being decreased such activities in 4th year, 3rd year old age group in descending order. Those study results regarding distribution in terms of type of activities of social life turned out to have similar frequencies between free selective activities and large & small group activities. Secondly, outcome of the analysis regarding activities of social life area in term of proceedings of children's social education, in overall trend, thinking and concept formation showed the highest frequency, and subsequently social skill, culture, diversity and values in descending order. Result of the study based on the trend of each subject of social life, 'preschool & friends' contains social skill, and 'our nation' & 'various countries of the world' contains substantially culture, diversity and values. Based on age group study, 3 year aged group showed high frequency of social skill, thinking and concept formation, culture, diversity and values while being appeared high frequency, thinking and concept formation, social skill, culture, diversity and values in 4, 5 year age group as descending order. Thirdly, Analyzing activities of social life area in terms of contents for children's social education, in overall trend, social life shares the highest frequency, and subsequently politics, history, global connections, economy, biology appeared in descending order and geography showed lower frequency. Result of the study based on the subject of social life, me & my family for Social study, our nation for History, and various countries of the world for Global Connections shared more than 70%. Also, our village for Geography, life tool for Economy, health & safety for Politics and spring, summer, fall, winter for Biology showed the highest portion of frequency. Based on the study of age group trend, social life takes more than 30% of high portion for 3, 4, 5 year age groups while sharing low portion activities of different social area.
