유치원에서의 어머니

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 어머니와 교사간에 이루어지는 의사소통이 어떠한가를 살펴보고, 어머니-교사 의사소통의 빈도와 의사소통 태도간의 관계를 알아보기 위한 것이다. 이와 같은 연구목적에 따라, 본 연구에서는 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다. 1. 유치원에서 어머니-교사 의사소통시 어머니의 의사소통 빈도는 어떠한가? 2. 유치원에서 어머니-교사 의사소통시 어머니의 의사소통 태도는 어떠한가? 3. 유치원에서 어머니-교사 의사소통시 어머니의 의사소통 빈도와 태도간의 관계는 어떠한가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울 시내에 위치한 유치원 5곳에 다니는 만 5세 유아의 어머니 277명이다. 어머니-교사 의사소통시 어머니의 의사소통 빈도를 알아보기 위해 Wertheim(1994)이 개발한 부모 의사소통 빈도 질문지(Parent Frequency of Communication Questionnaire)를 번안하여 사용하였다. 어머니의 의사소통 태도는 Powell(1978)의 의사소통 태도 척도와 Pollman(1983)의 PATCC(Parental Attitude Toward Caregiver Communication)를 Wertheim(1994)이 수정, 첨가하여 제작한 부모용 의사소통 태도 질문지를 번안하여 사용하였다. 자료의 분석은 SPSS(Window 용) 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도와 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, Pearson의 단순(bivariate) 상관분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주제에 대한 어머니와 교사간의 의사소통은 평균 빈도 2.67로 전체적으로 어머니와 교사가 주제에 대해 거의 의사소통을 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 유형을 통한 의사소통 빈도는 평균 1.75로 낮은 빈도로 이루어지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교사와의 의사소통에 대한 어머니의 태도는 평균 3.51로 나타나 일반적인 의사소통에 대한 어머니들의 태도가 긍정적인 것으로 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 주제별 의사소통 빈도와 유형별 의사소통 빈도 모두 어머니의 의사소통 태도와 유의미한 상관을 나타냈다. 즉, 주제에 대해 빈번하게 교사와 의사소통 하는 어머니일수록, 또한 유형을 통해 교사와 빈번하게 의사소통 하는 어머니일수록 교사와의 의사소통에 대해 긍정적인 태도를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다.;The purpose of this study is to investigate mothers' frequency and attitude of mother-caregiver communication at kindergarten, and to look into how communication frequency relates to communication attitude. For this purpose, the research questions established in this study are as follows; 1. How is mother's frequency of communication toward the caregiver? 2. How is mother's attitude of communication toward the caregiver? 3. How is the relation between mother's frequency and attitude of communication toward the caregiver at kindergarten? The subjects of this study are 277 mothers, having 5-year-old children enrolled at 5 kindergartens located in Seoul and randomly selected. To measure mothers' frequency of communication toward the caregiver, Parent Frequency of Communication Questionnaire, developed by Wertheim(l994), was translated and used for the research tool. To measure mothers ' attitude of communication toward the caregiver, Communication Attitudes Questionnaire, revised and added from Communicative Attitude Scale by Powell(1978) and PATCC(Parenta1 Attitude Toward Caregiver Communication) by Pollman & Weinstein(l983), and finally developed by Wertheim(l994), was translated and used. The collected data were analyzed in frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Pearson's correlational interpretation is used to complete the analysis. The results obtained from this study are as follows; First, there was, in general, low communicative frequency between mother and caregiver. The mean for communication frequency was 2.67, and it shows mother rarely communicates with caregiver. Seeing more detail, the most frequently discussed topic was about the child's peer relations at kindergarten, and child's day at kindergarten, child's lunch or snack, child-caregiver relations were rated in order. The mean for communication frequency by different modes or settings was 1.75, showing the infrequent communication. Specifically, the most frequent communication occurred by phone, and, next, during parent visit, during conference, through bulletin boards/written message
