기독교인 어머니들의 기독교 유아교육에 대한 인식 및 요구 조사

Abstract

본 연구는 기독교 유아교육기관에서 이루어지는 기독교 유아교육에 대해 기독교인 어머니들이 어떠한 인식과 요구를 가지고 있는지 살펴봄으로써 기독교 유아교육에 대한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 설정된 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 기독교인 어머니들의 기독교 유아교육에 대한 인식은 어떠한가? 2. 기독교인 어머니들의 기독교 유아교육을 위한 요구는 어떠하며, 이는 자녀의 연령에 따라 차이가 있는가? 본 연구는 서울특별시에 소재한 교회부속 유치원 3곳과 교회부속 어린이집 6곳에 자녀를 보내는 기독교인 어머니들만을 대상으로 하였다. 먼저 개인적으로 섭외한 교회부속 유치원에 213부, 교회부속 어린이집에 162부의 질문지를 배부하였고, 회수된 질문지는 257부(68.5%)이다. 이중 무응답이거나 성실하지 않은 질문지 10부를 제외하고, 최종적으로 247부(65.8%)를 연구 자료로 사용하였다. 자료 분석은 기독교인 어머니들의 기독교 유아교육에 대한 인식과 요구, 자녀의 연령에 따른 차이를 알아보기 위해 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였고 기도, 성경, 찬송을 소개하는 방법에 있어서는 자녀의 연령에 따른 어머니들의 요구 차이를 알아보기 위해 일원분산분석(ANOVA)을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기독교 유아교육에 대한 인식에 있어서 과반 수 이상의 어머니들은 ‘기독교 신앙교육 때문에’ 기독교 유아교육기관을 선택했으며, 기독교 유아교육기관의 설립목적과 취지를 ‘일반 유아교육 안에서 기독교 가치관과 태도를 자연스럽게 경험하도록 하기 위해서’라고 인식하고 있었다. 기독교 유아교육기관의 좋은 점으로는 ‘교사들이 기독교 사랑과 애정으로 교육하는 점’, 미비한 점으로는 ‘기독교 유아교육프로그램의 미비’라고 인식하고 있었다. 기독교 유아교육의 내용 구성은 ‘일반 유아교육내용을 있는 그대로 적용하고 기독교적 요소를 첨가한다.’는 인식이 가장 많았고, 실시 방법은 ‘흥미영역과 하루일과 속에 기독교적 요소를 통합시켜서’라는 인식이 가장 많았다. 기독교 유아교육의 발전을 위해서는 양질의 기독교 교재·교구 및 기독교 유아교육과정이 개발돼야하고 ‘원장/설립자/교회의 적극적인 의지와 지원이 필요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 둘째, 기독교 유아교육을 위한 요구에 있어서 대부분의 어머니들은 기독교 유아교육 실시를 위해 담임교사의 성경지식은 ‘매우 필요’하며, 모든 교사들이 세례교인이기를 원하였다. 기도, 찬송, 성경이야기, 예배, 기독교교리의 실시 정도에 있어서는 60%이상의 어머니가 ‘기도, 찬송, 성경이야기와 더불어 예배드리기’를 원하였고 예배횟수는 과반 수 이상의 어머니가 짧게나마 ‘매일’ 예배드리기를 원하였다. 예배시간은 대부분 ‘10분~20분정도’이기를 원하였고, 자녀의 연령에 따른 요구 차이를 보면, 만3세아 어머니의 경우 ‘10분 정도’라고 응답한 비율이 가장 많았고, 만4세아와 만5세아 어머니의 경우 ‘20분 정도’라고 응답한 비율이 가장 많았다. 예배 형태는 ‘반 별로 각 교실에서 예배드린다.’가 가장 많았으며, 예배담당은 ‘각반 담임’과 ‘목사님 또는 전도사님(교목)’이라는 응답이 비슷하게 높았다. 기도, 성경, 찬송을 소개하는 방법은 ‘식사, 간식시간에 감사기도를 드린다.’, ‘성경이야기를 들려준다.’, ‘교사의 기도를 듣는다.’, ‘활동주제와 관련된 찬송을 듣거나 불러본다.’에서 요구가 높았고, 자녀의 연령에 따른 요구 차이를 보면, 만3세아 어머니에게서 요구도가 더 높게 나타났다. 대부분의 어머니들이 기독교 유아교육을 위한 부모교육에 참여할 의향이 있다고 응답하였고 참여하고 싶은 부모교육 내용은 ‘성경적 자녀교육방법’이 가장 높게 나타났다. 또한 기독교 유아교육을 위해 바라는 점에서는 성경 말씀을 통한 확실한 신앙교육, 시대흐름에 맞는 교육과 기독교교육의 적절한 조화, 기독교 프로그램개발·교구·교사양성, 원장과 교사의 기도와 사랑, 교회의 적극적인 물질적·인적 지원, 생활에 자연스럽게 녹아있는 기독교교육을 바란다는 의견들이 있었다.;The purpose of this study is investigating the recognition and the demand of Christian mothers about the Christian education in the kindergarten and the daycare center which are attached to the church, so that it will be able to provide the fundamental data about Christian early childhood education. The topics of this study for approaching this purpose are as follows. 1. How do Christian mothers recognize Christian Education? 2. How do Christian mothers demand Christian Education and are there any difference in demands with respect to children's age? This study surveyed 247 Christian mothers who have children attending 3 kindergartens and 6 daycare centers attached to the churches which are located in Seoul. The results from this study are as below. Firstly, for the recognition about Christian early childhood education, more than half of mothers have the recognition that they choose the Christian education institute due to the Christian religious education and want their children to experience Christian idea and attitude naturally. They also realize the followings: the advantage of Christian education institute is that teachers have the feeling of love and pity, and the disadvantage is that the institute is a little short of the programs of Christian early childhood education. Most popular concern about the contents of Christian early childhood education is adopting the general early childhood education as it is and adding the Christian factors together. The most popular concern about the executing ways is integrating the interesting area and Christian factors together. The mothers also recognize that good quality of Christian materials, tools and curriculums should be developed and the active intention and support of director/ founder/ church are necessary. Secondly, the majority part of the mothers think the biblical knowledge of class teachers are needed a lot and want every teacher to be a baptized believer. For praying, praising, worship, and Christian creed, more than 60 percent mothers want their children to have worship with praying, praising and telling bible story, and more than half want to have worship everyday during even short time. For the worship time, most mothers want 10~20 minutes while mothers of 3 aged children want about 10 minutes and mothers of 4 aged children want 20 minutes. For the type of worship, most mothers want to worship at each class. For the leader of worship, class teacher and pastor(or chaplain) get high scored and show similar level. For the way of praying, praising and telling bible, praying with thanks-giving in the meal or snack time, telling bible story, and listening the teacher's prayer are highly required while mothers of 3 aged children show much more requirement level. Most mothers show the willing of attending the education of parents, and the biblical way of educating children is most highly required for appropriate parent education. Moreover, other desired items for Christian early childhood education are as follows: clear religious education through bible words, the education meeting the demands of times and combination with Christian education, the development of Christian program and teaching tool, training of teachers, the prayer and love of the director and the teacher, active finance and human support and Christian education harmonized naturally with life.
