노래 그림책(Song Picture Books)이 유아의 읽기 및 음악적 잠재력(Aptitude)에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 노래그림책이 유아의 읽기 및 음악적 잠재력 발달에 미치는 영향을 밝히는 것이다. 즉, 노래그림책이 제시된 실험집단과 노래그림책이 제시되지 않은 통제집단간 유아들의 읽기 및 음악적 잠재력 발달에 차이가 있는지 그리고 읽기발달과 음악적 잠재력 발달은 어떤 관계가 있는지 알아 봄으로써 현장의 교사들에게 노래그림책을 사용한 효과적인 교수법을 적용하는 것에 대한 지침을 제공해 주는 데 있다. 이와 같은 목적을 위해 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 1. 노래 그림책(Song Picture Books) 이 유아의 읽기 발달에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가? 1-1. 유아의 읽기 발달에 있어서 실험집단과 통제집단의 유아들간에 차이가 있는가? 1-2. 유아의 읽기 발달에 있어서 성별에 따른 차이가 있는가? 1-3. 노래 그림책이 읽기 발달에 미치는 영향이 성별에 따라 다른가? 2. 노래 그림책(Song Picture Books)이 유아의 음악적 잠재력 발달에 미치는 영향은 어떠 한가? 2-1. 유아의 음악적 잠재력 발달에 있어서 실험집단과 통제집단의 유아들간에 차이가 있는가? 2-2. 유아의 음악적 잠재력 발달에 있어서 성별에 따른 차이가 있는가? 2-3. 노래 그림책이 음악적 잠재력 발달에 미치는 영향이 성별에 따라 다른가? 3. 유아의 읽기 발달과 음악적 잠재력 발달은 서로 관계가 있는가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울시에 소재한 D유치원의 만 4세아 남녀 15명씩 총 30명이었다. 연구자는 실험집단 15명과 통제집단 15명의 두개 집단으로 나누고 실험집단에는 주 2 회 20여분씩 5주동안 10회에 걸쳐 노래그림책을 제시한 수업에 참여하게 하였으며 통제집단은 지금까지 해오던 일상적인 하루일과를 그대로 진행하였다. 실험절차는 예비실험, 교사훈련, 실험처치의 순으로 진행되었고 검사절차는 예비검사, 사전검사, 사후검사의 순으로 진행되었다. 실험처치용으로 사용된 동화책은 연구대상 유아들이 사전에 경험하지 않은 것으로 「한국전래동요의 통합적 활용을 위한 작은 책」 (한국 어린이 육영회, 1994)와 「한국전래동요의 통합적 활용을 위한 작은 책2」 (한국 어린이 육영회, 1995)시리즈 중에서 10권이 선정되어 사용되었으며 「한국 전래동요의 통합적 활용을 위한 큰 책」 (한국 어린이 육영회, 1994)이 함께 사용되었다. 사전ㆍ사후 검사에서 유아들의 읽기 검사용으로 사용된 유아용 동화책은 「야! 웅덩이다」(한국어린이육영회, 1992)였으며, 읽기 발달 검사는 Su1zby(1985)의 읽기 발달 단계를 기준으로 실시하였다. 음악적 잠재력 검사를 측정하기 위해서는 Gorden(1989)이 3~4세용으로 제작한 'Audie'를 번역ㆍ수정하여 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 사전검사점수를 공변인으로 하여 실시한 ANCOVA와 Pearson의 단순적률상관계수를 적용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노래그림책이 제시된 실험집단과 노래그림책이 제시되지 않은 통제집단간 유아들의 읽기발달에는 차이가 있었다. 노래그림책이 제시된 실험집단의 유아들은 통제집단 유아들보다 읽기발달에 더 많은 향상을 가져왔고, 읽기발달에 있어서 성에 따른 차이가 있었는데 남아보다는 여아들의 점수가 더 높게 산출되었다. 또한 노래그림책이 읽기발달에 미치는 영향은 점수의 변화량이 더 많았던 여아들의 경우에 그 효과가 더 명확하게 나타났다. 둘째, 노래그림책이 제시된 실험집단과 노래그림책이 제시되지 않은 통제집단간 유아들의 음악적 잠재력 발달에는 차이가 있었다. 노래그림책이 제시된 실험집단의 유아들은 통제집단 유아들보다 음악적 잠재력발달에 더 많은 향상을 가져왔다. 그러나, 음악적 잠재력 검사에서는 성별에 따른 차이와, 성별과 집단의 상호작용에 의한 효과는 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 유아들의 읽기발달과 음악적 잠재력 발달 간에는 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.;The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of song picture books on children's reading development and the development of music aptitude. To this end, following research hypotheses were set up in the study. 1. What is the effect of song picture books on children's reading development? 1-1. Is there any significant difference in children's reading development between experimental group and control group? 1-2. Is there any significant difference in children's reading development according to sex? 1-3. Do the effect of song picture books on children's reading vary according to sex? 2. What is the effect of song picture books on the development of music aptitude? 2-1. Is there any significant difference in the development of music aptitude between experimental and control group? 2-2. Is there any significant difference in the development of music aptitude according to sex? 2-3. Do the effect of song picture books on the development of music aptitude vary according to sex? 3. Is there any relationship between reading development and music aptitude development? The subjects in the study were thirty (1s boys and 15 girls), four-year-old children from D kindergarten in Seoul. Half the children were divided randomly into action and non action conditions experimental subjects were exposed to song picture books for 20 minutes at once, twice on a week during five weeks. The experimental procedures were pilot experiment, teacher training, treatment and test procedures were pilot-test, pre-test and post-test. Song picture books selected for treatment were 「The small book for integrated use of Korean traditional children's Nursery Rhymes 1, 2」 and 「The big book for integrated use of Korean traditional children's Nursery Rhymes」, which were new for subjects. 「Ah! a puddle!」 was used for children's reading test in pre-and post-test and children's reading development was categorized according to Sulzby's model of reading development. For the development test of music aptitude, Gorden's "Audie" for three or four-year-old children was modified and used. Data were analyzed using a ANCOVA and Pearson's the coefficient of correlation. The result of the study are as follows; 1. There was the difference in children's reading development between experimental group with song picture books and control group without them. Experimental group was facilitated more than control group in reading development. There was the difference in reading development according to sex and girl's scores were higher than boy's. The effect of song picture books on reading development was more remarkable in female 2. There was the difference in the development of music aptitude between experimental group and control group. Experimental group with song picture books was facilitated more than control group in music aptitude development. But in the test of music aptitude, there wasn't any difference according to sex and any effect of interaction between sex and group. 3. There was positive relationship between reading development and the development of music aptitude.
