청소년 음악회 조사연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the current situation of Juvenile concert programs and finding out its problems, solutions and future plans for development. Nowadays, there has been more Juvenile audiences who are interested in concert due to their accomplishments with evaluation, early music education, etc. Juvenile concerts are rapidly increasing every year. Also the contents and methods of concert are getting more diverse. At this time we need to think about whether these rapidly increasing juvenile concerts are forming juvenile music culture in a good way. It is necessary to study juvenile concerts to lead their music culture to a better one because it has an important meaning to expose them to music culture in a sense of having future audiences. Therefore, through the theoretical background I looked at the importance of music and performing art education for juveniles, moreover the necessity for these musical art education based on juvenile concerts with interpretation mentioned on the previous studies. The study process is planned as followed: I analyzed the types of juvenile concerts performed in the Seoul and the Gyeonggi Area from June to September 2008 during the summer vacation, which tended to be concentrated in this season. Then, I chose and observed the representative juvenile concert for each type, then report this process by anecdotal description which is one way of qualitative study. This is to obtain the educational purpose of the concert and a more realistic expression about its process. The subjects of this study are as follows: What are the types and planning purpose of juvenile concerts?; Does the repertory of concert programs have any connection with the textbook?; Which area and period are juvenile concerts taking place in?; As a result of the observation of juvenile concerts, what kinds of musical experiences are provided? The results of the analysis according to those subjects are as follows: Firstly, as a result of classifying the types based on concert chosen and observed at the researcher's option, there could be groups of concerts with interpretation, concerts integrated with other subjects and concerts only with music performance. Secondly, as a result of analyzing how many repertoire in a juvenile's concert are contained in the textbooks, many repertoire selected in the juvenile's concert are related to the textbook. Thirdly, as a result of analyzing the area and period for juvenile concerts, they are mainly attached to the performing arts center in the Seoul area, also most of them are performed within the month of August, in which the summer vacation starts. Lastly, as a result of observing juvenile concerts, the interpretation or other activities are in charge of providing a musical experience which helps to appreciate it more actively. On the basis of these results, the problems and solutions for juvenile concerts are as follows: Most juvenile concerts are in type of a concert with interpretation, they take place a lot in the Seoul area. Moreover, there are many juvenile concerts that are an event for one time only during the vacation season. To improve these problems, more programs are needed to develop juvenile concerts that can provide more various and integrated experiences, and not only to the arts center in the Seoul area but also suburban areas needs to develop more programs for juvenile concerts. Furthermore it needs to provide juvenile concerts designed with long term prospective and not just for an event for one time to raise future audiences. Therefore there should be more interests and diverse experiments on these juvenile concerts, and more studies are expected on the basis.;본 연구의 목적은 현재 청소년 음악회 프로그램을 조사하고 연구하여 그에 대한 문제점과 개선점에 대해 알아보고, 향후 청소년 음악회가 나아가야 할 방향에 대해 알아보고자 하는데 있다. 조기 음악교육에 대한 관심이 증가하고 수행평가가 확대되는 등의 이유로 음악회에 관심을 가지게 되는 청소년층의 청중들이 생기게 되었다. 이러한 청중들을 확보하기 위한 청소년 음악회는 매년 급증하고 있으며, 음악회의 내용과 방법 또한 다양화 되어가고 있는 추세이다. 따라서 이렇게 매년 급증하고 있는 청소년 음악회가 과연 바람직한 방향으로 청소년 음악문화를 형성해 가는지에 대해 생각해볼 필요가 있다. 미래의 청중을 확보한다는 부분에서 청소년들에게 이러한 음악 문화를 접하게 하는 것은 매우 중요한 의미를 가지기 때문에 청소년 음악문화를 바람직한 방향으로 이끌기 위해서는 청소년 음악회에 대한 연구와 관심이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 이론적 배경에서는 청소년기 음악교육의 중요성과 예술교육의 중요성 그리고 선행연구에서 언급한 해설이 있는 청소년 음악회를 중심으로 이러한 예술교육의 필요성에 대해 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 진행 및 방법은 2008년 6월부터 2008년 9월까지 청소년 음악회가 집중되는 여름방학을 기준으로 우리나라 서울․경기지역에서 연주되는 청소년 음악회의 유형들을 분석하였다. 그리고 연구자가 청소년 음악회를 임의로 선택하여 직접 참관하고, 그 음악회의 진행과정을 질적연구의 한 방법인 일화적 기술로 기록하였다. 일화적 기술방법은 음악회의 교육적 의도를 파악하고 음악회가 진행되는 상황을 좀 더 사실적으로 표현하고자 실시한 방법이다. 본 연구의 연구문제는 다음과 같다: 청소년 음악회의 연주 유형과 기획의도는 무엇인가?; 음악회 프로그램의 레퍼토리는 교과서와 연관성이 있는가?; 청소년 음악회가 진행되는 지역의 분포와 기간은 언제인가?; 실제 청소년 음악회를 관찰한 결과, 어떠한 음악적 경험을 제공하는가? 위의 연구방법과 절차에 의해 얻어진 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 연구자가 임의로 선택하여 관찰한 음악회를 바탕으로 유형을 분류한 결과, 해설이 있는 음악회, 다른 영역과 통합된 음악회, 연주로만 이루어진 음악회로 분류가 가능하였다. 두 번째, 청소년 음악회에서 연주된 연주곡이 교과서에 얼마나 수록되어 있는가를 분석한 결과, 청소년 음악회에 선정된 연주곡들이 많은 부분 교과서에 수록된 음악과 연관성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 세 번째, 청소년 음악회가 진행된 지역과 기간을 분석한 결과, 청소년 음악회는 서울지역을 중심으로 주요 공연장에 편중되어 있는 것으로 나타났고, 여름방학이 본격적으로 시작되는 8월에 대부분의 음악회가 편중되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 청소년 음악회의 진행과정을 관찰한 결과, 청소년 음악회에서 제공되는 해설 또는 그 외의 모든 활동은 관객들이 좀 더 적극적인 감상을 하는 데 필요한 음악적 경험을 제공하는 역할을 담당하였다. 이를 바탕으로 한 청소년 음악회의 문제점과 개선점은 다음과 같다. 청소년 음악회는 해설과 연주로 구성된 해설이 있는 음악회의 유형이 대부분을 차지하고 있었고 서울의 주요 공연장에 편중되어 음악회가 진행되고 있었다. 그리고 장기적인 계획을 바탕으로 한 공연보다는 방학시즌에만 제공되는 1회의 이벤트성 공연이 많았다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해서는 좀 더 다양하고 통합적인 경험을 제공할 수 있는 청소년 음악회의 프로그램 개발이 필요하고, 서울의 주요 공연장뿐만 아니라 그 외의 수도권 지역에서도 좀 더 다양하고 풍부한 음악회의 계획이 필요하다. 그리고 진정한 미래의 청중들을 길러낸다는 의미에서 청소년들의 방학시즌에만 제공되는 1회의 이벤트가 아닌 장기적이고 계획적으로 기획된 청소년 음악회가 제공되어야 한다. 따라서 이러한 청소년 음악회에 대한 관심과 다양한 시도가 많이 이루어져야 할 것이며 이를 바탕으로 청소년 음악문화에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지기를 기대한다.
