노래그림책이 만2세 영아의 읽기 흥미 및 어휘력 발달에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how song picture books influenced two years old infants' reading interest and vocabulary development. For this purpose, the study questions are established as fallow: 1. How aid song picture books influence on reading interest of infants? 2. How aid song picture books influence on vocabulary development of infants? The subject of this study were 20 two years old infants at A infants' enrolled in a daycare for infants in Suwon-city as an experimental group and 20 two tears old infants at B infants house in Sungnam-city that has similar physical & human conditions as controlled group. Infants of experimental group did singing activity that instructed total 15 songs-3songs per week for 5 weeks, reading activity especially with song picture books, and unplanned expansion activity by teachers' intervention according to the infants' demand & condition. In the singing activity step teachers instructed infants of experimental group to sing naturally with picture materials in free-choice play session and made a progress to hand-amusement action and body-expression when infants are familiar with the songs. In using song picture books step, teachers provided accustomed song picture books with reading session for the infants and made a progress to various connected activities. In controlled group's reading session, teachers had additionally provided CD player and allowed the infants to listen songs and see song picture books and sing in transition activities frequently. The infants of the controlled group have been instructed in same ways and same conditions as the infants in the experimental group except the activities with song picture books. In oder to examine effect of the picture song books, the researcher did a pre-test for reading interest and vocabulary ability and did the same test again after 5 weeks of experiment. For this project, researcher used Primary Pupil Reading Attitude Inventory (PPRAI) that was designed by Askov(1973) and Picture Vocabulary Test which was designed by Yong-Tae Kim, Hae-Seung Jang, Sun-Sook Lim, and Hyun-Jeong Baek(1995). Researchers did two way ANCOVA whish sets pre-test evaluating basis for data analysis. Following are two main result of this research: Firstly, there is statistic meaningful difference for infants' reading interest between the two groups. In other words, the infants of experimental group who has been instructed with song picture books made more progresses in reading interest. Secondly, there is also statistic meaningful difference regarding infants' vocabulary development between two groups. In other words, the infants of experimental group who has been instructed with song picture books made significant progress in vocabulary development.;본 연구의 목적은 노래그림책의 경험 유무가 만2세 영아의 읽기 흥미 및 어휘력 발달에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 목적에 따라 본 연구에서 설정한 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 노래그림책은 영아의 읽기 흥미에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가? 2. 노래그림책은 영아의 어휘력 발달에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가? 본 연구의 대상은 수원시에 위치한 A어린이집의 만2세반 20명의 영아와 물리적환경과 인접환경의 조건이 유사한 성남에 위치한 B어린이집의 2세반 20명을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 선정하였다. 실험집단 영아들은 매주 3곡씩 5주동안 15곡의 노래부르기와 노래그림책을 중심으로 한 책보기 활동 및 영아들의 요구와 상황에 맞는 교사의 개입에 의해 이루어진 비계획적인 확장활동을 하였는데, 노래부르기 단계에서는 자유선택놀이시 그림자료를 이용하여 자연스럽게 노래 불러보기, 노래가 익숙해지면 손유희나 신체표현 등으로 연계하였고, 노래그림책을 활용한 단계에서는 친숙해진 노래그림책을 책보기 영역에 제공하여 책보기 활동과 다양한 연계활동을 진행하였다. 실험집단의 책보기 영역에는 녹음기, CD를 함께 놓아 두어 노래와 함께 노래그림책을 볼 수 있도록 하였고, 전이활동 시간에도 수시로 노래그림책을 활용한 책보기 및 노래부르기를 하였다. 통제집단은 3곡씩 5주동안 15곡을 실험집단에 적용된 노래부르기 방법과 동일하게 노래부르기 활동이 진행되었으나 노래그림책을 활용한 어떠한 활동도 제공되지 않았다. 노래그림책의 효과를 알아보기 위하여 읽기 흥미, 어휘력에 대한 사전검사를 실시하였고 5주후에 같은 방법으로 사후검사를 실시하였다. 영아의 읽기 흥미를 검사하기 위해 Askov(1973)가 고안한 Primary Pupil Reading Attitude Inventory(PPRAI)를 사용하였고, 김영태, 장혜승, 임선숙, 백현정(1995)이 제작한 ‘그림 어휘력 검사’를 사용하였으며 자료분석은 사전검사를 공변인으로 한 공분산분석(two-way ANCOVA)을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노래그림책의 경험 유무는 영아의 읽기 흥미에 있어서 노래그림책이 제시된 실험집단과 노래그림책이 제시되지 않은 통제집단 영아들간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 즉 노래 그림책을 중심으로 한 활동에 참여한 실험집단의 영아들은 그렇지 않은 통제집단의 영아보다 읽기 흥미가 증가하였다. 둘째, 노래그림책의 경험 유무는 영아의 어휘력에 있어서 노래그림책이 제시된 실험집단과 노래그림책이 제시되지 않은 통제집단 영아들간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다. 즉 노래 그림책을 중심으로 한 활동에 참여한 실험집단의 영아들은 그렇지 않은 통제집단의 영아보다 어휘력이 월등하게 많이 증가되었다.
