幼稚園에서의 읽기를 위한 指導에 관한 硏究

Abstract

본 硏究의 目的은 유치원에서의 읽기 指導 與否와 敎師의 指導方法에 관한 調査를 함으로써, 앞으로의 幼稚園 敎育課程 制定에 바람직한 도움을 주려는 것이다. 이러한 目的으로 文獻硏究를 통하여 就學前 어린이의 읽기 敎育에 대한 論議와 읽기를 위한 準備要素, 就學前의 읽기 指導方法에 관한 考察을 하였으며, 이에 따라 다음과 같은 硏究問題를 設定하였다. 1. 유치원 어린이에게 읽기를 指導하는 敎師가 얼마나 되나? 2. 유치원 敎師가 읽기 指導를 하는 理由와 하지 않는 理由는 무엇인가? 3. 유치원 어린이 중에서 글자에 대해 興味를 나타내는 어린이와 동화책을 읽을 수 있을 程度의 읽기 能力을 가진 어린이가 얼마나 되나? 4. 유치원에서 읽기 指導를 위해 어떤 方法을 어느 程度 사용하고 있는가? 위의 問題를 調査하기 위하여 理論的 背景에 따라 18問項의 질문지를 본 硏究者가 作成하였으며, 서울 市內에 있는 185名의 유치원 敎師로 부터 回收한 질문지를 分析한 結果와 거기에 따른 結論은 다음과 같다. 1. 유치원에서의 읽기 指導 與否 유치원 敎師의 半 程度(51%)가 읽기 指導를 하고 있다고 응답하였다. 2. 읽기 指導 與否에 대한 理由 유치원 어린이에게 읽기 指導를 하는 경우, 그 理由는 어린이들이 읽기를 위한 發達段階에 도달했기 때문이라는 敎師가 67%로 가장 많았으며, 읽기 指導를 하지 않는 경우, 그 理由는 現行 유치원 敎育課程에 부합되지 않기 때문이라는 敎師가 45%로 가장 많았다. 3. 읽기 指導 始作 時期 읽기 指導는 언제부터 始作해야 한다고 생각하는가 하는 물음에 대해 유치원 敎師의 54%가 어린이가 읽기 위한 發達段階에 도달했을 때라고 가장 많은 응답을 하였으며, 26%의 敎師가 유치원 時期라고 응답한 것으로 나타났다. 4. 유치원 어린이의 읽기 能力 유치원 敎師의 응답에 의하면 자기 班 어린이 中에서 25%∼50%의 어린이가 글자에 興味를 나타내는 경우가 40%로 가장 많고, 50%∼75%의 어린이가 글자에 興味를 나타내는 경우가 33%나 된다. 또한, 班 어린이 中에서 25%∼50%의 어린이가 童話冊을 읽을 수 있을 程度의 읽기 增力을 가졌다고 응답한 敎師가 40%로 調査結果 나타났다. 그러므로 유치원 敎師는 읽기 指導에 대해 관심을 가지고, 어린이에게 읽기를 위한 敎具와 敎材를 제공해 주어야 하겠다. 5. 유치원에서의 읽기 指導方法 幼稚園에서의 읽기를 위한 指導方法과 그 指導의 程度를 調査한 結果, 幼稚園 어린이에게 읽기 指導를 한다고 응답한 경우에 身體的인 面, 知覺的인 面, 認知的인 面, 言語的인 面, 心理的인 面, 環境的인 面의 초기의 읽기를 위한 指導方法들을 대체로 많이 使用하고 있는 것으로 幼稚園 敎師의 응답 結果 나타났다. 幼稚園 敎師는 읽기를 위해서는 이러한 여러 面의 發達이 어린이에게 이루어져야 함을 알아야 하겠다.;The Purpose of this study is to survey whether the teachers teach children to read in the kindergarten, or not, if they do, how they teach, and through this survey, to be helpful to establish kindergarten curriculum in future. For this purpose, the opinions on early reading instruction, factors of readiness for reading, and instruction method are considered in this study through literature review, and than the questions are presented as follows. 1. How many teachers teach children to read in the kindergarten? 2. Why do the teachers teach children to read in the kind-ergarten, and why not ? 3. How many children are interested in letters, able to readto the degree of reading story books ? 4. What methods are used for reading instruction and towhat degree are they used in the kindergarten ? In order to survey such questions, 18 items of questionnaire were made according to theoretical background, and distributed to the kindergarten teachers in Seoul. Collected and analyzed data from 185 kindergarten teachers show the result as follows. 1. Teaching children to read, or not Half of the kindergarten teachers teach children to read. 2. The reason why they teach children read or why not In the case of teaching children to read, 67 percent of the teachers answered that because children get to the stage for reading. In the case of not teaching children to read, 45 percent of the teachers answered that because reading instruction is not in accordance with kindergarten curriculum. 3. Time of starting instruction for reading 54 peroent of the teachers answered instruction for reading should be given children when they get to the stage for reading, while 26 percent of the teachers answered, at the time of kindergarten. 4. Reading ability of kindergarten ohildren 40 percent of the teachers answered that 25 ∼ 40 percent of the ohildren are interested in letters in the class, 33 percent of the teachers answered, 50 ∼ 75 percent of the children are interested. And 40 percent of the teachers answered that 25 ∼ 50 percent of children in her class can read story books. Therefore, kindergarten teacher must take reading instruction into consideration provide teaching implements and materials. 5. The method of instrution for reading in the kindergarter Many teachers answered that they teach children in factors of readiness for beginning reading as physical, perceptual, cognitive, linguistic, psychological, environmental factors.
