兒童文學作品 속의 主人公像이 兒童人格形成에 미치는 영향에 관한 硏究

Abstract

첫째, 본 硏究는 歐美 兒童文學의 代表的인 作品中에서 나타나는 兒童像이 兒童 人格形成에 미치는 영향을 알아 봄으로써 兒童 讀書指導에 필요한 자료를 얻어 아동 독서지도에 바람직한 방법을 모색함을 目的으로 兒童文學의 理論的인 배경을 밝히고, 兒童이 즐겨 읽은 代表的인 作品들을 조사하고 그 속에 兒童像이 兒童에게 끼친 영향을 조사 분석하였다. 둘째, 本 硏究의 對象作品은 '톰·소오여의 모험' '집 없는 아이' '소공자' '보물섬' '알프스의 소녀' '소공녀'이고 조사 대상 학생은 비교적 고전 작품을 많이 읽은 국민학교 6학년 兒童 60名으로 하였다. 셋째, 調査內容은 兒童文學作品에 主人公의 行動特徵을 10가지로 크게 나누어 비교적 많은 영향을 받은 항목에 대한 반응을 조사하여 그 빈도를 측정하였다. 넷째, 本 硏究의 結果 兒童文學의 特質로 ① 兒童文學은 兒童을 對象으로 한다. ② 兒童文學은 가치 있는 敎育的 機能을 갖고 있다. ③ 兒童文學은 理想主義的인 文學이다. ④ 兒童文學은 興味性을 지녀야 하며, 다섯째, 兒童文學의 目的은 ① 생각이 깊고, 바른 판단력을 가질 수 있으며, 성숙한 兒童을 만드는데 있다. ② 兒童들은 책을 통해 간접경험을 하여 주인공과 同一化됨으로서 人格形成에 영향을 받는다. ③ 兒童文學은 人間生活 인식을 높이고 삶의 方向을 제시하는 점이 文學敎育이 바라는 궁극적인 目的으로 設定할 수 있다. 여섯째, 兒童文學作品에 나오는 주인공들은 대부분 兒童이 지녀야 할 좋은 行動特徵을 많이 가지고 있어 人格形成에 좋은 영향을 준다. 따라서 本 硏究結果, 다음과 같은 提言을 하였다. 첫째, 국어과 교육에서 의도적인 文學敎育을 강조해야 하겠다. 둘째, 우리의 兒童文學作品을 어린이들이 讀書할 수 있도록 보다 많은 기회가 주어져야 하겠다. 셋째, 도서관 시설의 확충과 학급문고의 설치 그리고 독서환경 구성에 관심을 가져야 하겠다. 넷째, 아동문학 자체의 諸指導는 兒童人格形成에 영향을 미치기에 생활지도와 관련하여 항상 고려하여야 하겠다.;(1) Above research disclosed the theoretical backgrounds of the Juvenile literature and analyzed the influences upon our children in order to grope the desirable methods in the teaching children the way of good reading and to know how the images of the children in the western juvenile literary works, especially in some of the well known representative works in the field influence upon our children forming their personalities. (2) "Adventure of Tom Sawyer"(Mark Twain), "Sans Famille"(Hector Malot), "Little Lord Fauntleroy"(Frances Hodgeson Burnett), "Tresure Island"(Robert Louis Stevenson), "Heidi"(Johanna Spyri), "Little princess"(F.H. Burnett) are selected for the object of this study. And, the students who has given data to this research are chosen among the sixth graders of a primary school who has some knowledge about Juvenile Literary works compared to other students. Those faithful participants are sixty. (3) The characteristics in behavior of the main roles in those selected works were given devided into ten parts. And the students on this research were asked to check out the part which they thought they influenced comparatively much. (4) The results of this research are as follows; On the qualities of the juvenile literature ① The object of the juvenile literature is children. ② The juvenile literature has much useful educational functions. ③ The juvenile literature is an idealistic literature. ④ The juvenile literature must contain interests. (5) The purpose of the juvenile literature; ① The purpose is to make children considerate and to help them to have good judgement in order to make them mature. ② The purpose is to give children good influences on their personalities. For, they identify themselves with the main roles in the works they read. ③ The purpose is to give children the correct way of thinking and to show them the right direction of life they are to get along. (6) The main roles in the juvenile literary works have a lot of good characters which are needed for most children, so the good works give useful influences on children forming their personalities. Therefore, the results of above research suggest as follows; The first, intentional literary education must be emphasized in native tongue education. The second, more opportunities to read the juvenile literary works written by our writers should be given to our children. The third, nation-wide expansion of library facilities, the establishments of the class libraries, and building up the reading environments for children are those elements which now must be concerned. The fourth, the people who tech children, juvenile literature affect directly on children's behaviors. So, every act of theirs must be rigorousty considered.
