Abstract

The Tale of Poongsoo is the type of stories about the bliss of posterity through the death of predecessor. This study is based on the Korean Traditional Tale. And the purpose of this study is to investigate the origins and factors of the Tale of Poongsoo which are transmitted from mouth to mouth, classify the factors, and comprehend the consciousness of the transmitting groups with the characteristics of the factors. The results of this study are summarized as follows : First, the types of the Tale of Poongsoo are the followings. 1. Poongsoo(a geographic expert and prophet) a) The stories of well-known Poongsoos. b) The mistakes of Poongsoos. c) The stories of Sham-Poongsoos. 2. Myeong Dang(well-known grave) and Geography a) The relationship between Myeong Dong and the Tale of Poongsoo. b) The stories of Myeong Dang c) The stories of Geometry and fortunate places. 3. Receiver a The stories of the persons who have the Myeong Dang b) The stories of the persons who cannot have or lost the Myeong Dang c) The stories of the persons who deprive the others of the Myeong Dang 4. Dan Maik(cutting off the pulse of Myeong Dang) 5. Poongsoo theory Third, the consciousness of transmitting groups is summarized as follows, 1. The ethics of "the good: should be recommended and the evil removed." 2. The ancestor worship and the filial duty 3. The desire for prosperity 4. The fated thought 5. The positive thought of overcoming fate 6. The self-sacrifice spirit 7. The desire for going up the social position 8. The spirit of the resistance against the ruling groups. This study tried to draw the types of space system in tables, especially to make their meaning clear. But I regret that I have not the theoretical bases.;본 연구는 한국의 설화 가운데 풍수사상을 근거로 한 풍수설화를 대상으로 하여 그 발생과정과 발전요인을 살피고, 구전되는 풍수설화 자료를 수집하여 유형별로 분류한 것이다. 그리고 분류된 유형의 고찰을 통해 그 내면적 의미를 파악하여 전승집단의 의식을 살펴 본 것이다. 본문의 주된 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중국에서 발생한 풍수사상이 우리나라에 도입된 시기는 통일신라시대로 추측되며, 오늘날까지 신앙화 하여 우리생활에 깊숙히 자리잡고 있음을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 풍수설화의 유형은 다음과 같이 분류될 수 있다. 1. 풍수 -가) 명풍수 이야기 나) 풍수의 실수 다) 가짜풍수 이야기 2. 명당과 지형 -가) 명당형과 풍수설과의 관계 나) 명당 이야기 다) 지형과 吉地 이야기 3. 수용자-가) 명당을 얻은 사람 이야기 나) 명당을 얻지 못하거나 잃은 사람 이야기 다) 남의 명당을 빼앗은 사람 이야기 4.단맥 5. 풍수이론 세째, 분류된 유형의 세부적인 내용을 바탕으로 주된 모티브를 추출하여 그 내면적 의미를 살펴본 결과 전승집단의 의식구조를 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 1. 권선징악의 윤리관 2. 조상숭배와 효사상 3. 부귀 영화의 희구 4. 운명론적 사고 5. 운명개척을 위한 적극적인 의지 6. 희생정신 7. 신분상승욕구 8. 지배층에 대한 저항정신 등으로 나타난다. 풍수설화의 유형이 다양하게 나타남과 각 체계가 갖는 의의를 구명하려고 시도하였으나 이론적 뒷받침이 되지 않는 점이 유감이다.
