중학교 환경과 교육과정을 통한 에너지교육의 실태조사와 강화방안 연구

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to find the practical conditions of energy education in the 7th curriculum for middle schools and to suggest its enhancement schemes accordingly. We have faced a energy crisis and are forced to be disadvantageous internationally unless we reduce the discharge of greenhouse gases in accordance with Tokyo Protocol, Convention on Climate Change. In this situation, we need to check the energy education in the country. For the study, first, it examined the objectives, need, and field of energy education in schools. Next, it reviewed the energy education practices of the 7th curriculum as well as of foreign countries. Finally, with a questionnaire, it surveyed and analyzed the practical energy educations in schools, interests in and recognition of energy and practices, and opinions of energy education increase. The results is as follows; First, it is found that most of teachers and students did not understand the content and that they lacked ability to assemble related content among subjects, although it encouraged energy education across various subjects, including environment, with creative activities at discretion. Second, most of teachers and students recognized a energy crisis and considered for the living of energy savings, the need of energy education, and the development of alternative energy as counter-plans. But, it is found that their interests was no more than curiosity, failing to lead to active practices in real life. Third, for future energy education, it need to focus on the functions of, attitudes to, and participation in energy practices rather than the knowledge and understanding of it. Specifically, it has to be of importance in energy savings, energy problem and its solution. Besides, it need to develop various teaching-learning materials and to have administrative and financial supports for effective energy education. Based on the results, it suggests the following for effective energy education. In textbook editing phase, it has to contain more energy-related materials in the textbook after consultation with professionals. Also, it has to encourage environment classes in which energy education can be included systematically to promote creative activities in schools at discretion. In addition, it has to expand in-service training for teachers related to energy education, while to develop and spread various materials for effective teaching-learning activities. Finally, it will be helpful for effective energy education to include a energy field trip in school excursions and study tours or on-the-spot study associated with social energy institutes.;이 연구의 목적은 제 7차 중학교 교육과정에서의 에너지 교육 실태를 알아보고 그에 따른 강화방안을 제언하는데 있다. 현재 우리 나라는 에너지 위기 상황에 직면해 있고 기후협약에 의한 도쿄의 정서의 합의로 온실가스 배출량을 감축시키지 않으면 국제적 불이익을 감수해야 하는 상황이다. 이러한 현재의 시점에서 우리 나라의 에너지 교육에 대해 점검해 볼 필요가 있다. 이를 위해 먼저 에너지 교육의 목표와 필요성, 학교 에너지 교육의 영역에 대해 조사했다. 다음으로 제7차 교육과정상의 에너지 교육과 외국의 에너지 교육 현황을 살펴보았고, 마지막으로 설문조사를 통해 실제 학교 에너지 교육의 실태와 에너지에 대한 관심 및 인식과 실천, 에너지 교육 강화를 위한 의견들을 조사 분석했다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 에너지 교육이 이미 여러 교과와 환경교과, 창의적 재량활동을 통해 실시되고 있지만 교사, 학생 중 다수가 그 내용들을 구체적으로 인지하고 있지 못했고 각 과목마다 분산되어 있는 내용을 서로 연계하여 이해하는 능력이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 대부분의 교사와 학생들은 에너지 위기 상황을 인식하고 있었으며 따라서 그에 대한 대책으로 에너지 절약생활, 에너지 교육의 필요성, 대체에너지의 개발 등에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었다. 그러나 이러한 관심이 호기심의 수준에서 그칠 뿐 실생활에서의 적극적인 실천으로 연결되고 있지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 앞으로의 에너지 교육은 지식과 인식보다 기능, 태도, 참여 측면의 영역이 중요하게 다루어져야 하며 에너지 교육의 내용 중에서는 에너지 절약 생활, 에너지 문제, 에너지 문제 해결 등이 중요하게 다루어져야 한다. 또한 효과적인 에너지 교육을 위해 다양한 교수-학습 자료가 개발되어져야 하며 그에 따른 행·재정적 지원들이 이루어져야 한다. 이 같은 연구결과에 따라 본 연구는 효율적인 에너지 교육을 위해 다음과 같은 내용을 제안한다. 교과서 편집 단계에서 에너지 교육과 관련한 전문가들과의 협의를 통해 각 교과서에서 에너지와 관련한 내용을 강화하고, 에너지 교육을 체계적으로 수업시수에 포함시켜 실시할 수 있는 환경교과와 창의적 재량활동을 각급 학교에서 적극 활용한다. 또한 교사들의 효율적인 교수-학습 활동을 위해 에너지 교육과 관련한 교사 연수 기회를 확대하며 동시에 다양한 자료가 개발, 보급되어야 한다. 마지막으로 학교에서 실시하는 소풍과 수학여행 일정에 에너지 관련 견학 코스 또는 에너지 관련 사회교육 단체와 연계한 현장 학습활동을 포함시킨다.
