교육인적자원부 유아교육자료에 대한 공립유치원 교사의 활용실태와 인식

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine how much public kindergarten teachers took advantage of early childhood education materials presented by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources, what made it difficult for them to capitalize on them, and what difference their variables including career and educational background made to that. And it's also intended to find out about their needs for early childhood education materials provided by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources. The research questions were posed as below: 1. How much do public kindergarten teachers apply early childhood education materials presented by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources? Do their academic background and career make any differences to that? 2. What makes it hard for them to harness early childhood education materials presented by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources? Do their academic background and career make any differences to that? 3. What are their needs for early childhood education materials that will be presented by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources? The subjects in this study were 314 public kindergarten teachers across the nation. What's used in Bu Seong-suk(1999)'s dissertation to find out about the utilization of kindergarten teaching materials was employed in the study, which adapted and modified Moore, Shawn & Others(1984)'s Questionnaires for the Application of Curriculum. Another instrument used in the study was prepared by this researcher based on Geum Min-seon(2003)'s modified version of Lee Yun-gyeong, Lee Yeoung-ae and Jo In-gyeong(2000)'s Questionnaires for the Application of Kindergarten Teaching Materials. To address the research questions about the application of the early childhood education materials and relevant hurdles, statistical data on frequency and percentage were obtained, and ANOVA was employed to see if their personal variables made any differences to the application of the materials in consideration of the number of materials in use. Besides, -test was conducted in relation to the categories of the obstacles each of the teachers were confronted with. At the same time, the teachers were asked to write down their needs and barriers they were faced with, and the written data were categorized and described. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the public kindergarten teachers applied most of the teaching materials supplied by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources. Those who had worked for a longer period of time and who were better educated put them to more use. Second, as for barriers that made it hard to harness the teaching materials, many of the teachers pointed out a lack of concern on the side of teachers, insufficient training opportunities and a lack of workshop. And many found it difficult to use the teaching materials because of a shortage of available data, inappropriate time for the supply of the data, and heavy workload related to events or documentation. As for the influence of the personal variables, the teachers with a less career didn't feel that there were plenty of training courses or workshop about the field application of the teaching materials, and their educational level made a significant difference to their opinions on the adequacy and availability of the teaching materials and on a lack of diversity. Third, regarding their needs for future teaching materials supplied by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources, they placed the most emphasis on educational activities, followed by educational planning, evaluation, inclusive education for the disabled, all-day class, events, parent education, a preparation of good environments, and others. CD-ROMS were identified as the most preferred type of teaching materials, followed by realia, videotapes, pictures and others. Besides, they asked for concrete, specific and practical materials that are usable in classroom without any modifications and cater to teachers' needs, and called for down-to-earth training and workshop as well.;본 연구의 목적은 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료에 대한 공립유치원 교사의 활용실태 및 장애요인을 알아보고 교사 관련 변인(경력, 학력)에 따라 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 알아보며, 추후 개발될 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료에 대한 요구도를 살펴보는데 있다. 이와 같은 연구의 목적에 따라 다음과 같은 연구문제를 설정하였다. 1. 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료에 대한 공립유치원 교사들의 활용실태는 어떠한가? 이는 공립유치원 교사들의 학력과 경력에 따라 차이가 있는가? 2. 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료 활용 시 장애 요인은 무엇인가? 이는 교사들의 학력과 경력에 따라 차이가 있는가? 3. 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료에 대한 공립유치원 교사의 요구는 어떠한가? 본 연구는 전국의 공립유치원 교사 314명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구에서 사용한 도구는 Moore, S., Wideman, M. E., & Dilling, H. J. (1984)가 만든 교육과정의 ‘활용수준 측정 질문지’를 우리나라의 유치원 교육과정 실정에 맞게 번안하고 수정하여 사용한 부성숙(1999)의 논문에서 「유치원 교육활동 지도자료」의 활용도에 관한 질문내용과 이윤경·이영애·조인경(2000)의 ‘제5차 유치원 교육과정에 따른 「유치원 교육활동 지도자료」활용 실태 조사 질문지’의 내용을 수정 보완한 금민선(2003)의 도구를 참고로 본 연구자가 연구문제에 적합하게 문항을 제작하여 사용하였다. 연구문제 분석을 위해 활용실태와 활용 시 장애요인은 문항별로 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였고, 교사의 개인변인에 따라 활용실태에 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위해 한 교사당 활용하는 자료의 개수를 기준으로 일원변량분석(ANOVA)를 실시하였다. 또한 교사의 개인변인에 따라 느끼는 장애요인의 범주별로 검증을 실시하였다. 장애요인과 요구도에 대한 자유 기술식 문항은 유목화하여 분석한 뒤 기술하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공립유치원 교사들은 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료를 대부분 활용하고 있었다. 이는 교육경력이 높을수록, 학력이 높을수록 더 많이 활용하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료에 대한 장애요인에 대하여 교사의 측면에서는 교사의 관심부족과 자료의 적용을 위한 교사연수 및 워크샵이 부족하다고 응답한 교사가 많았고, 기타의 측면에서는 참고할 수 있는 많은 자료, 자료의 보급시기, 행사나 공문처리로 활용이 어렵다고 응답한 교사가 많았다. 또한 개인 배경 변인에 있어서는 경력이 낮을수록 자료의 현장적용을 위한 교사연수나 워크샵이 부족하다고 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 교사의 학력에 따라 현시대에 맞지 않는 자료의 내용, 참고할 수 있는 많은 자료, 교육활동이 다양하지 않다는 장애요인에 유의미한 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 추후 개발·보급될 교육인적자원부 유아교육자료의 내용에 대해 교육활동, 교육계획, 평가, 장애유아 통합교육, 종일반, 행사, 부모교육 및 지원, 환경구성, 기타 순으로 요구하는 것으로 나타났다. 자료의 형태로는 CD-ROM, 실물, 비디오, 그림자료, 기타의 순으로 나타났다. 그 밖의 요구사항으로는 바로 교실상황에서 사용할 수 있도록 구체적인 자료의 제공, 실질적이고 구체적인 전달연수 및 워크샵, 현장의 요구에 따른 실질적인 자료를 제작하기를 원하였다.
