고등학생의 역기능적 가족구조와 심리적 독립이 진로태도성숙에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the effect of dysfunctional family structure on both psychological separation and career attitude maturity. This study examined the parent-child relationship which affects deeply adolescent's career attitude in order to help high school students accomplish their development task and have a good career attitude. This study was intended for helping adolescents, under therapidly changing circumstances, choose a right career, achieve self-realization as a social being and grow to be a person who live self-contently after mature reflection on self-understanding and sound valuation on career. Through a survey of 600 male and female students from 4 different high schools, this study analyzed 462 questionnaires in total. To survey dysfunctional family structure, I used the Gyeonghwa Min's questionnaire (1994) translating Frederick G. Lopez's <Family Structure Survey>(1986). And to survey psychological separation, I used Seungrim Ryu's questionnaire(1998) modifying Hoffman's <Psychological Separation Inventory>(1984). To survey career attitude maturity, I used Career Attitude Measurement Tool developed by GihakLee and Jongcheol Han(1997). The collected data was passed through both correlation and multiple regression analysis using SPSS win 11. The results of study are as follows: Firstly I conducted an correlation analysis on the effect of dysfunctional family structure and subfactors of psychological separation on career attitude maturity. The result showed a certain relation, which is rather weak, among variables. Second, to look into the influence of dysfunctional family structure and psychological separation's subfactors I conducted a multiple regression analysis. The result reads that each subfactor of dysfunctional family structure and psychological separationaffect career attitude maturity differently. But two following variables are commonly influential: Family fear of separation, emotional and attitudinal independence of psychological separation The statistical data, however, shows that each variable are not very closely related. It is difficult to conclude that dysfunctional family structure and psychological separation have an absolute power to predict one's whole career attitude maturity. On follow-up research the difference between Korea and foreign country should be considered more importantly. Each subfactor of psychological independent tends to have opposite effects on career attitude maturity. It emphasizes that the necessity of further investigation into the effects and meaning of psychological separation on career attitude maturity in Korea.;본 연구의 목적은 고등학생의 역기능적 가족구조와 심리적 독립이 진로태도성숙에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것이다. 고등학생들의 진로에 많은 영향을 주는 가족변인인 부모-자녀 간의 관계를 살펴봄으로써, 고등학생들의 발달과업 수행을 돕고 그들이 바른 진로태도를 가질 수 있도록 하고자 한다. 이를 통해 급변하는 사회 속에서 자신에 대한 이해와 일에 대한 가치관 등에 대한 충분한 고려 속에 자신에게 적합한 진로 및 직업을 선택하여 한 사람의 사회인으로서 자신을 실현하고, 만족스런 삶을 영위하는 사람으로 성장하도록 돕고자 한다. 본 연구는 인천시에 위치하고 있는 인문계, 실업계 4개 고등학교에 재학 중인 남, 여학생 600명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였으며 총 462부를 최종으로 분석하였다. 역기능적 가족구조를 측정하기 위해 사용한 검사도구는 Frederick G. Lopez(1986)의 Family Structure Survey를 번안한 민경화(1994)의 질문지이고, 심리적 독립을 측정하기 위하여 사용한 도구는 Hoffman(1984)이 제작한 Psychological Separation Inventory를 류승림(1998)이 60문항으로 수정·보완한 것을 사용하였다. 그리고 진로태도성숙을 측정하기 이해서는 이기학, 한종철(1997)이 개발한 진로 태도 측정도구를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS win 11 프로그램을 사용하여 연구문제에 따라 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 역기능적 가족구조와 심리적 독립의 하위요인과 진로태도성숙의 관계를 살펴보기 위해 상관분석을 한 결과 각 하위요인과의 관계는 대체로 유의미한 관계는 있었으나 낮은 상관을 보이고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 역기능적 가족구조와 심리적 독립의 하위요인이 진로태도성숙에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해서 중다회귀분석을 한 결과, 역기능적 가족구조와 심리적 독립의 하위요인들이 진로태도성숙과 그 하위 요인별로 미치는 영향들이 일치하지 않았으나, 공통적으로 많은 영향을 미치는 변인이 역기능적 가족구조의 분리불안, 심리적 독립의 정서적독립, 태도적독립임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 이 변인들이 통계상으로 보여주는 설명력은 낮아서, 역기능적 가족구조와 심리적 독립이 진로태도성숙 전체를 예언하는 절대적 변인이라고 결론을 내리는데 어려움이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 진로태도성숙과 관련된 요인으로서 역기능적 가족구조와 심리적 독립이 우리나라 상황에서 갖는 의미가 외국의 경우와 크게 다를 수 있음을 고려하여 후속연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다. 그리고 심리적 독립의 하위요인들의 경우, 진로태도성숙에 미치는 영향이 서로 반대방향으로 나타나는 경우가 많았는데, 이러한 결과는 진로발달에 있어서 심리적 독립의 역할과 의미를 우리나라 상황에서 좀 더 살펴볼 필요가 있음을 보여준다고 하겠다.
