제7차 교육과정에 의한 교과서 및 교사용 지도서의 전통 음악 내용 고찰

Abstract

우리 고유의 전통 음악이 시대의 변천과 함께 점차적으로 현대를 사는 우리의 정서에 깊은 영향을 주는 보편적인 음악으로 자리잡아 가고 있음에 따라, 제7차 교육과정에서도 우리의 전통 음악에 대한 중요성을 강조하고 있다. 이 연구에서는 제7차 초등학교 음악과 교육과정에서의 전통 음악 내용을 분석하고, 제7차 초등학교 음악과 교육과정에 따른 3·4·5·6학년 음악 교과서의 반영 정도 및 내용상의 문제점들을 알아보며, 그 개선 방안을 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. 제7차 초등학교 음악과 교육과정 및 교과서와 교사용 지도서의 전통 음악 내용을 분석한 결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 제7차 초등학교 음악과 교육과정은 전통 음악 교육의 중요성이 이전의 제6차 교육과정보다 더욱 강조됨에 따라 전통 음악 내용 체계에 있어서 내용의 선정 및 조직을 비교적 체계적으로 구성·제시하였다. 음악 교과서와 교사용 지도서도 전통 음악의 다양한 악곡과 음악 활동을 제시하는 등 전반적으로 전통 음악에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있도록 구성하였다. 그러나 교육과정의 경우 불분명하고 포괄적인 내용이 있어서 교육과정과 교육과정 해설서의 내용만으로는 이해하기 어려운 부분이 다수 있었다. 음악 교과서는 교육과정에서 제시한 전통 음악 내용이 교과서에 올바로 적용되지 않은 부분도 있었고, 전통 음악이 서양 음악 어법과는 다른 음악 어법을 가지고 있음에도 불구하고 서양 음악 어법에 맞추어 일부 제재곡들을 수록함으로써 전통 음악 본래의 멋을 찾기 어렵게 한 것도 있었다. 내용면에서는 비교적 다양한 악곡과 활동을 수록하였으나 전통 음악에 대한 '바른 이해와 개념을 형성하기에는 여전히 미비한 점이 있었다. 음악과 교사용 지도서는 내용상에 오류가 있는 부분이 일부 있었으며, 잘못 기재된 글자도 있었다. 통일성이 결여된 부분도 있었는데, 특히 장단에 있어서 동일한 장단을 서로 다르게 제시하기도 하였고, 장단의 강세는 모든 제재곡에 일정하게 표기되지 않았다. 그리고 '지도의 실제'에서 제재 개관이나 제재 목표, 수업 자료 등에 제시된 내용이 지도 내용에 제시되지 않은 경우도 있었고, 제시된 내용이 다른 경우도 있었다. 이상의 내용을 살펴볼 때 제7차 초등학교 음악과 교육과정은 전반적으로 전통 음악의 양적 비중은 높아졌으나 내용 수록에 있어서 여전히 많은 문제점을 내포하고 있었다. 전통 음악 교육이 교육 현장에서 올바로 정착되기 위해서는 위와 같은 문제점들이 보완, 해결될 수 있도록 더욱 신중을 기해 교육과정 및 교과서와 교사용 지도서가 집필되어야 할 것이다.;Keeping pace with the flow that Korean traditional music has been gradually settled down as general music deeply influencing our emotion of modem times, the seventh curriculum also emphasizes the importance of Korean traditional music. Based on this background, this study tried to examine the contents of traditional music in the seventh music curriculum of elementary school, investigate the reflection of the seventh music curriculum of elementary school on the music curriculum of the third-, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-year elementary school students and the problems of the contents, and suggest the improvement plans. The results of analysis on the contents of traditional music in the music curriculum, textbook and teacher's guide of elementary school are as follows; The seventh music curriculum of elementary school systematically is composed and suggested the selection and organization of the contents of traditional music as the significance of traditional music education is more accentuated than that of the sixth curriculum. Accordingly, in general, music textbook and teacher's guide were composed in order to easily understand traditional music, such that various musical pieces and activities of traditional music were suggested. However, as the curriculum included unclear and comprehensive contents, some of traditional music could not be easily understood just with the curriculum and the explanation of the curriculum. In the music textbook, some of the contents of traditional music suggested in the curriculum were not properly applied, and although our traditional music has different musical idiom from western one, some music repertoire complying with the western musical idiom were contained, so that the original taste of traditional music could not be found. In the aspect of contents, the music textbook contained relatively various musical compositions and activities but they are imperfect in forming the right understanding and concept of traditional music. The teacher's guide of music course included some errors in the contents and typographical errors. Also, it was somewhat lack of unity - specially, for example, in case of Changdan(Korean rhythm), it suggested the same Changdan as different Changdans and accent of Changdan was marked in some songs, while it was not marked in others songs. And, for 'the practice of guidance', the contents indicated in the overview or objective of the theme and class material were suggested in the contents of guidance in some cases, and the suggested contents were different from the facts in other cases. In conclusion, as described in the above, it was clearly found that in the seventh music curriculum of elementary school, weight of traditional music increased in quantity but it involved many problems in quality of the contents. The curriculum, textbook and teacher's guide shall be written with more deliberation to complement and solve the problems, so that traditional music education can be settled down properly in the educational field.
