CMP를 통해서 본 음악창조성 계발에 관한 연구

Abstract

인간은 누구나 선천적으로 자기를 표현하고자 하는 본능이 없으며 이러한 자기실현의 창조성은 기계문명이 고도로 발달하여 인간성이 상실되기 쉬운 오늘날과 같은 현실 속에서 더욱 강조되고 있다. 본 논문에서 다루고 있는 CMP의 실험연구에서는 현대음악을 이해시키는 학습과정에서 이러한 자기실현의 창조성을 계발할 수 있는 음악교육 방법을 제시해 주는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 소련의 Sputnik 발사의 성공으로 일어난 미국 교육계의 혁신적인 추세에 영향을 받아 CMP를 시초로 하여 Yale Seminar, MMCP, Tanglewood Symposium 및 하와이 음악교육과정안 등의 새로운 음악교육방안들은 공통적으로 음악교육을 하는데 있어서 창조성계발을 중요한 교육전략으로 삼고 있다. CMP는 이러한 1950년대의 혁신적인 음악교육과정안중 선두적인 역할을 하고 있으며, 창조성교육의 중요성이 대두되고 있는 이 때에 CMP의 연구는 매우 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 미국의 현대음악교육경향을 고찰하는데 있어서 창조적인 음악교육면을 중심으로 연구하여 미국의 음악교육이 창조성에 역점을 두고 있음을 밝혔고, CMP가 태동할 수 있었던 조직과정과 활동을 조사하고, 현대 음악적 이해와 창조성계발을 목적으로 출발했던 CMP의 음악교육이 시간이 지남에 따라 포괄적 음악교육으로 바뀌게 되었음을 알았으며, 여기서는 주로 창조성계발교육을 위한 실험연구, 즉 Baltimore Project, San Diego Project, Farmingdale Project를 문헌을 통하여 창조성계발교육에 관하여 분석하였다. CMP의 실험연구는 현대음악을 소재로 하여 창조성계발교육을 하는데 혁신적인 방법을 제시해 주고 있으며, 현대음악을 음악교육과정 속에 넣어 종합적인 음악성을 도모하려 한 점에서 시대적인 요청이 부응하고 있다. 현대사회는 과학기술의 발전으로 급변하고 있다. 이러한 때에 음악교육도 현 시대에 부응되고 학생들의 잠재능력과 창조성을 계발시킬 수 있는 음악교육방안을 지향해야 할 것이다. 그러므로 CMP의 실험학습활동을 갈 분석하여 우리나라 교육실정에 적합하게 응용한다는 것은 교육적으로 가치가 있는 것이라고 본다. 현대음악을 소재로 하는 CMP의 이론에 우리나라의 전통음악인 국악을 넣어 잘 응용한다면 국악에 대해 잘 모르고 있는 학생들이 흥미와 열의를 갖고 학습에 임할 수 있게 되어 국악을 이해할 수는 음악교육의 기회가 주어질 것이며, 이러한 과정에서 창조적인 경험을 할 수 있을 것이다. CMP의 이론을 우리나라에 도입하는 데에는 여건상 문제점이 많으나 우리의 교육현장에서 전통적인 음악교육법을 탈피하고 우리의 실정에 맞도록 CMP의 이론을 개선해 나간다면 학생들의 창조성계발에 큰 역할을 할 것이다.;The creativity is emphasized on the today's world where the humanity has been lost to the extremity of the mechanical development, so that CMP, which deals with creativity in the process of understanding the contemporary music, is significant in representing the methods of developing the creativity in the music education. Under the influence of American education's innovative trends due to the blast-off of Russian satellite "Sputnik", CMP, Yale Seminar, MMCP, Tanglewood Symposium, and the Hawaii music curriculum consider the development of creativity as the major educational strategy. CMP had been played a leading role of 1960' innovative music curriculums, and was very significant in view of the importance of the creative education. This thesis reviewed the trends of American music education with the central figure of creativity, and investigated the system process and activity of CMP, therefore clarified the fact that CMP's music education initially commenced with the object of understanding the contemporary music and improving the creativity gradually has been changed into the comprehensive musicianship. In this thesis, mainly the music education of developing the creativity was analyzed through the Baltimore Project, San Diego Project, and Farmingdale project. CMP represents the innovative method developing the creativity and meets the social needs in view of devising the comprehensive musicianship, including the contemporary music in the process of music education. The present age undergoes the sudden change by the rapid development of scientific technique, so that the music education must respond this age by aiming the method of enlightening the students' latent faculties and creativities. Therefore it is valuable that we make an adequate application to our music education by analyzing completely the strategies of CMP. If we make a good use of the educational theory and strategy of the CMP and apply it to our Korean classical music, the students infamiliar with it can study well with fresh in-of understanding it and undergoing an creativity in this process. It may raise some questions that we apply the theory of CMP to Korea, but if we get out of the old-fashioned teaching method and improve the principles of CMP suitably to the present circumstances, it will play an important tole in the mat-ter of developing the students' creativity.
