自閉兒의 音樂療法

Abstract

The purpose of this study is in experimenting on the effects of specially programmed Music Therapy for the Autistic child in hopes of contributing to the enhancement of their education. All children who took part in the music therapy received clinical check-ups and educational evaluation prior to participation. The subjects consist of ten autistic children attending the speech and hearing center of EWHA because of special Education needs. The experiments focused on music therapy's effects on interpersonal relationship, response to sounds, reach into other objects, speech development and development of potential ability of the autistic child. The results of the experiment are as follow : (1) It is evident that music therapy affects the physical and motor development in the autistic child. (2) Music therapy can be utilized as a stimulant as well as an "attentiongetting" agent in language acquisition and development. (3) Music therapy positively affects intelligent and cognitive abilities. (4) Music therapy plays an important role in the development of the emotional and social stability and affective domains. Despite the fact that the number of participants (subjects) in the experiments were yery limited, I have arrived at the conclusion that music therapy is significant in the education of autistic children. In View of the success with autistic children, I feel that there is a dire need for the application of music therapy to other physically or mentally, emotionally and socially exceptional children.;음악은 고금을 통하여 정치 사회 문화 및 교육 나아가 스포츠 종교 의학적 영역에 이르기까지 많은 영향을 주어왔다. 특히 제2차 전쟁후에 발생되는 여러유형의 환자들에게 정신과의 임상적 접근으로서 음악을 이용하여 그 치료효과를 성공적으로 거두운 사례를 많이 볼 수 있다. 요즘에 와서 과학문명의 발달과 사회의 복잡성으로 인하여 우리 주변에는 여러 유형의 특수아동의 배출을 우리는 흔히 볼 수 있다. 특히 눈에 뜨이게 많이 볼 수 있는 유아 정서자폐아동들에 대한 특수교육의 문제가 오늘날 매우 심각하다. 현재 우리나라의 경우 대체로 이들 발달장애아에 대하여 정신과 의사의 의학적 조치 즉 임상적 접근에 의존하는 경우를 흔히 볼 수 있다. 그렇기 때문에 본연구는 이들 발달장애아(유아정서 자폐아동)에 대하여 임상적 진단 및 교육적인 종합진단이 끝난후 특수교육적으로 음악요법을 통하여 그들의 성장발달에 교육적인 효과를 거두기 위한 실험적 연구를 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 대체로 일반아동에 비해 자폐아동은 성장발달면에 있어서 언어가 거의 없고 행동면에 특이한 점이 많기 때문에 본 연구는 그들의 신체적 지적 정서적 및 사회적면의 특성을 고려해서 음악요법을 통하여 교육적 효과를 거두기 위한 것이다. 본 연구를 위한 대상아동은 ○○여자대학교 언어청각임상쎈터에 통원 교육을 받는 자폐아동 10명으로서 자폐아의 행동면에 있어서의 주위와의 관계, 소리세계에 대한 반응 사물에 대한 태도 언어발달면의 촉진 잠재능력의 개발 더 나아간 일반아동과 같이 어울려 생활을 할수 있도록 자폐아동에 대한 음악요법의 실험적 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 음악요법은 자폐아의 신체 및 운동기능발달에 많은 향상을 볼 수 있었다. 2. 음악요법은 자폐아의 언어발달면에 있어 자극과 관심이 집중되게 하므로서 언어발달의 촉진과 향상을 볼 수 있었다. 3. 음악요법은 자폐아적 지적 및 인지능력에도 도움을 주었다. 4. 음악요법은 정서 및 사회성발달면에 있어서 정서적면의 안정과 정동의 자율성 나아가 대인관계에도 많은 진전을 가져올 수 있었다. 앞서 연구한 자폐아의 실험대상은 비교적 적지만 실험을 통하여 자폐아의 교육적 효과에 음악요법이 지대한 영향을 주고 있음을 찾아 낼 수 있었다. 앞으로 여러유형의 특수아동을 위한 특수아교육에 있어서 음악요법이 교육적 효과를 높일 수 있음을 감안할때 이 방면의 연구가 계속해서 활발히 이루어 져야 할 것이다.
