포괄적 음악성 개발을 위한 피아노 교육

Abstract

본 논문은 현대 음악교육의 대표적인 동향이라고 할 수 있는 포괄적 음악교육 (Comprehensive Music Education) 이론을 바탕으로 피아노교육에 있어서 학습자로 하여금 포괄적 음악성 (Comprehensive Musicianship)을 기를 수 있는 피아노 학습지도방안에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구의 목적은 아직도 단편적인 지식의 주입과 기교위주의 전통적인 교수(敎授)방식 하에 이루어지고 있는 피아노교육에 대하여 피아노음악교육의 본질에 따른 교수 이론의 정립 및 바람직한 하나의 방향을 제시함으로써, 궁극적으로는 피아노교육의 질적인 향상을 도모하고자 하는 데에 있다. 연구의 방법과 주요 내용으로는, 여러 관계문헌의 고찰을 통하여 포괄적 음악교육이론과 포괄적 음악성 개발을 위한 피아노교육에 관한 사항을 알아본 후, 서양음악사적 4시대(바로크, 고전, 낭만, 20세기)별로 다양한 양식적 작품을 선정, 분석·검토하여 중급수준의 학습자를 대상으로 이론, 연주, 창작적인 면에 역점을 두고 악곡지도를 통한 피아노 학습지도방안에 관해 다루었다. 포괄적 음악교육은, 개념적 접근법 (Conceptual approach)에 의하여 포괄적 음악성 신장을 주목적으로 하는 음악교육이다. 즉, 포괄적 음악성 개발을 위한 피아노교육은 악곡지도에 있어서 다양한 시대·양식·문화권의 음악을 교육의 재료로 삼아 음악이론, 역사, 창작 연주 등 광범위한 학습내용과 활동을 통하여 연계성을 이루며 통합적으로 지도하는 음악교육이다. 여기서 교사는 지식을 주입하지 아니하고, 학습자 스스로가 적극적인 참여에 의해 잠재력이 최대한 발휘될 수 있도록 하는 역할을 한다. 그럼으로써 학습자는 폭넓은 음악적 지식과 미적 경험을 쌓음과 동시에 음악의 이해력과 통찰력, 예술적인 연주력, 그리고 창조적인 능력을 갖추게 되고, 나아가서는 자주적인 태도와 정서 및 인격의 함양을 도모할 수 있다는 것이다. 따라서, 앞으로의 피아노교육은 일반적으로 행해지는 경우는 물론이거니와 전문적으로 행해지는 경우에 있어서도, 우선 포괄적 음악성 개발을 위한 피아노음악교육의 입장에서 실시되어야 하겠다는 것이 본 연구의 결론이라고 할 수 있다.;The study is to research the piano teaching method which cultivates Comprehensive Musicianship in learners of piano education based on the theory Comprehensive Music Education that could be regarded as a typical trend of modern music education. The purpose of this study is to set forth a method of teaching based on the true nature of piano music education, and suggest a desirable direction for teaching piano, and ultimately promote qualitative improvements in piano music education, which is still following the traditional method of music education of memorizing fragmentary knowledge and giving priority to technique. The method of this study and its main contents are as follows : (1) I have investigated subject matters of piano education for developing the theory of Comprehensive Music Education and Comprehensive Musicianship. (2) Selecting, analyzing, and examining various styles of works in each of the four periods (Baroque, Classic, Romantic, 20th Century) in the history of Western music, I have dealt with the actual methods for piano instruction as seen in musical composition education and put emphasis on the theoretical, performing, and creative aspects for learners on an intermidiate level. Comprehensive Music Education is music training which primarily aims at the development of Comprehensive Musicianship according to a conceptual approach. That is to say, piano instruction for the development of Comprehensive Musicianship is music education in which, when teaching musical compositions, music of various periods, styles and cultures is utilized as material for education, and which is coordinated and taught and done as a unit by exposing the student to a broad range of study and activities such as music theory, history, creativity and performance. Here, teachers do not force knowledge in to the students, but acts as a guide for cultivating the highest degree of their potential ability through the students' own active involvement. Thus, students are able to obtain a broad range of musical knowledge and aesthetic experiences. At the same time they are developing their own musical understanding, insight, artistic performance, and creative abilities. And Furthermore, they can develop an independent musical attitude, emotion and personality. Therefore I have come to the conclusion that future piano instruction in specific instruction as well as in general instruction, should be designed on the basis of piano music education which promotes above all else the development of Comprehensive Musicianship.
