신앙 공동체 교육이론 이해

Abstract

지금까지의 교회교육의 학교식교육체제의 제한성을 보면서 최근 기독교교육이론의 지도적 모형으로 소개하는 신앙공동체 교육이론을 살펴 보고자 한다. 본 논문은 교회교육의 갱신을 위해 종래의 학교식 교수 범례(Schooling-instructional paradigm)를 깨트릴 필요성을 강조하면서, 그 대안적 모델로 신앙-문화화 공동체 범례(the community faith enculturation paradigm)에 기초한 공동의 상호적 관계의 중요성을 강조한 John H. Westerhoff의 교육이론을 중심으로 연구하고자 한다. 웨스터 호프에 의하면 기독교교육의 핵심은 신앙이고, 그 신앙의 내용은 세계관이요, 가치체계라고 하면서 세계관과 가치체계의 형성은 공동체의 전 삶을 통해 가능하다고 한다. 또한 신앙공동체를 살아있는 전통과 상호작용 하는 공동체로 규정지으면서, 상호작용을 통한 "기 독교적 삶의 스타일 형성에 중점을 두었다. 이러한 이론을 근거로 하여 웨스터 호프의 신앙공동체 교육이론의 배경을 신학적입장에서 꾼토하여 보고, 기독교교육의 교육구조적인 측면에서 그의 교육방법, 교육내용등을 이해하고자 한다. 다음으로는 좀 더 바람직한 교회교육의 방향모색을 위하여 웨스터 호프의 교육론을 평가하고 오늘의 우리교회교육의 현실에 적용 할 때의 공헌점과 문제점을 지적한다. 마지막으로는 교회교육의 개선을 위한 제언으로 정리하고, 바람직한 기독교교육을 위해서 보다 구체적인 대안을 모색하여 당면한 문제점들을 해결해 나갈 수 있는 연구가 계속 되기를 희망하면서 본 논문을 마치고자 한다.;This thesis introduces John H. Westerhoff Ⅲ's educational theory on the sociological 'Community of Faith'. Secondly this thesis applies Westerhoff's theory of education to the Korean church because his theory offers a possible solution to the problems of contemporary church education. To satisfy various desires of people in a rapid changing industrial society, church education must change to meet those needs. Westerhoff's theory of education can shed light on becoming mature christians by christian education. Westerhoff established his theory of education, using the special concept of the 'Community of Faith-Enculturation Paradigm'. He proposed a new way of church education by criticizing a currently prominent educational theory, --'schooling-instructional paradigm'--which is an inappropriate approach for current needs of church education. In other words, the foremost theory of the past, 'Schooling-Instructional Paradigm,' not only disregarded nurturing, inheriting and the delivering of faith, but it also interfered with the development of these. Thus Westerhoff constructed the educational theory of the 'Community of Faith' based on the theoretical hypothesis of a sociological approach. He used 'Enculturation' as the basic theory for educational structures. The application of Westerhoff's educational theory of the 'Community of Faith' served greatly to overcome the problem of contemporary church education. Rather than focusing only on the delivery of knowledge Westerhoff's theory offers a solution to the problems of Korean church education. By emphasizing participatory learning and active application, comprehension of doctrine and mature faith can increase.
