기타계 예술계열 고등학교 음악과 교육과정 분석

Abstract

20세기 후반 과학 문명의 급속한 발달로 생활이 윤택해짐에 따라 우리 나라 국민의 교육에 대한 관심은 날로 고조되고 있으며 특히 예술교육에 대한 관심은 급격히 고조되고 있다. 예술교육은 일반교육과 전문교육을 통해 교육되는데 전문예술교육은 타분야의 전문교육에 비해 조기교육을 필요로 한다. 본 연구는 예술고등학교의 교육과정이 처음 마련된 제5차 교육과정과 개정된 제6차 교육과정을 중심으로 각 학교의 교육과정과 실시되는 교육실태를 비교분석하여 교육부에서 제시한 교육과정과 각 학교에서 실시되는 교육과정과의 적합성을 파악하는데 목적을 가진다. 이론적 배경으로 예술계열 고등학교 교육과정을 비교분석하기에 앞서 문헌연구, 현장연구와 전화인터뷰를 통해 우리 나라의 예술교육과 제5차와 제6차 기타계 예술계열 고등학교의 교육과정에 대해 살펴보았으며 전국에 분포된 기타계 예술계열 고등학교 음악과의 현황에 대해 알아보았다. 기타계 예술계열 고등학교 음악과 교육과정 분석은 첫째, 교육부에서 제시교육과정을 중심으로 서울·경기지역의 5개 예술고등학교 교육과정을 보통교과와 전문교과로 나누어 제5차와 제6차 교육과정별로 살펴보았다. 둘째, 전문교과 교육과정을 학교별과 과목별로 심층분석하였다. 위의 방법에 의해 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 5개교의 총이수단위는 교육부에서 제시한 교육과정과 적합하였으나 교과목 배당은 학교별로 차이가 있었다. 교과활동 중 보통교과의 배당은 입시에 중요시되는 과목에 비중을 두었으며 전문교과는 5개교에서 공통으로 선택한 시창·청음, 음악이론, 음악사, 합창·합주, 연주, 전공과목을 중심으로 과목을 개설하였다. 학교별로 본 전문교과의 이수단위는 제5차 교육과정의 경우 5개교 모두 82단위로 같으나 제6차 교육과정은 계원예고가 94단위로 가장 높으며 서울예고가 82단위로 가장 적게 배당하였다. 교육과정에 제시된 전문교과의 최소 이수단위가 82단위 이상이므로 각 학교의 이수단위는 교육과정과 일치하였다. 전문교과를 교과별로 보면 시창·청음과 음악이론은 교육과정의 내용과 각 학교의 지도내용이 일치하였다. 음악사는 서양음악만을 다루어 교육과정의 내용과 다르게 지도하고 있었다. 합창·합주는 대부분의 학교에서 전공별로 분반하여 지도하였는데 이는 교육과정의 내용과 다른 지도내용이었다. 전공과목은 5개교가 실기를 중심으로 실시되고 있는데 교육과정은 실기중심보다는 이론중심으로 제시되어 학교의 교육과정과 다르며 교육과정의 지도내용은 오히려 전공클래스과목에 흡사한 지도내용이었다. 전공클래스는 교육과정에 제시되어 있지 않은 과목이나 전공과목과 실내악과목의 내용과 성격이 일치하였다. 국악이론과 음악감상, 부전공, 음악일반, 반주법은 학교별로 제5차 교육과정과 제6차 교육과정에 선택 또는 폐지한 과목으로 교육과정과 일치하지는 않았다. 이처럼 5개 학교의 교육과정은 교육부에서 제시한 교육과정과 거의 흡사하게 편성되었기에 교육부가 제시한 교육과정과 각 학교의 교육과정은 적합하다고 할 수 있겠다. 예술고등학교의 첫 설립 후 40여년 후에 마련된 예술고등학교 교육과정임을 고려할 때 교육부에서 제시한 교육과정은 이전에 설립된 학교의 교육과정을 토대로 마련되었음을 배제할 수 없다. 따라서 교육부가 제시한 교육과정과 각 학교의 교육과정은 적합할지라도 전문 예술인 양성을 위해서는 교육과정의 개선을 필요로 한다. 본 연구는 전국의 17개교 예술고등학교가 아닌 서울·경기지역의 교육과정만을 비교분석하였으므로 앞으로 계속되는 연구에서는 전국의 예술고등학교의 교육과정에 대한 연구가 계속되기를 기대하는 바이다.;With the rapid development of the scientific civilization in the late 20th century, Koreans lived in comfort and their interest towards education rose, especially towards Art education. Art education is educated through general education and professional education. Different from the other professional educations it needs to be educated from the early age. This study aims at understanding whether arts' curricula of each high school comply with that of the ministry of education. This is done by comparatively analysing each school's curriculum with the actual education reality, based on the initial 5th curriculum and the revised 6th curriculum. Before analysing arts' curriculum of high school from a theoretical point of view, through bibliographical review, field study and phone interviews I have looked into Art education in Korea. the 5th and 6th curriculum. arts' curriculum of high school and current status of the music department in these high school. Analysis on the music department's curriculum under these high school of arts is firstly done by dividing the curriculum of the 5 art high schools located in Seoul and Kyonggi province into ordinary subject and professional subject according to the 5th and 6th curriculum based on the Curriculum presented by the Ministry of education. Secondly depth analysis is done on the professional subject by school and by course. Lastly I have summarized above stated matters. From this study I have come up with the following conclusion. These 5 high school's total number of credits met with the curriculum presented by the Ministry of education but differed in allotting the subjects. Allotment of the ordinary subject was based on the subject related to the University entrance exam and professional subject was based on Sight-singing & Ear Training, Music Theory, Music History, Choral & Ensemble, Performance, Applied Music which were selected by 5 schools in common. In case of the 5th curriculum, total number of credits for professional subject was same with 82 credits but in case of the 6th curriculum, Kyewon Art high school was the highest with 94 credits and Seoul art high school was the lowest with 82 credits. This met with the curriculum presented by the Ministry of education since the minimum credits for professional subject is 82 credits. If we look into professional subject according to the course, Sight-singing & Ear Training and Music Theory met with the presented curriculum. Music History differed with the presented curriculum by only dealing with the Western Music. Choral & Ensemble also differed by teaching divided into different classes according to one's major. Applied Music differed in that 5 schools emphasized on the actual skill whereas presented curriculum emphasized on the theory and teaching substance was similar with the Applied Music Class course. Applied Music class is nat presented in the curriculum, but content and character of the course met with that of the course which are Applied Music Class and Chamber Music Class in the curriculum. Korean Music Theory, Music Appreciation, Minor, General Music, Technique of Accompaniment differed with the present curriculum in that these were either selected or closed in the 5th or 6th curriculum. As stated above, the curriculum of these 5 schools is very similar with the curriculum presented by the Ministry of education. Considering high school of arts' curriculum being established 40 years after the foundation of the art high school you can't completely rule out the fact that curriculum presented by the Ministry of education is based on the school curriculum. Even though the curriculum presented by the high school of arts meet with that of the Ministry of education, improvement needs to be made in order to train many professional artists. This study is only based on high school of arts located in Seoul and Kyonggi province and not all 17 art high schools in Korea. Thus I expect future studies will continue based on the all the Korean high school of arts.
