고등학교 지구과학 교과서 「III. 우주」 단원의 개념도 작성

Abstract

개념도는 학습내용에서 주요 개념들을 추출하여 위계적으로 배열하고 그 관계를 나타낸 2차원의 그림으로 유의미 학습의 한 수단이 될 수 있다. 본 연구는 1995년 개정된 제 6차 교육과정에서 고둥학교 「 지구과학Ⅰ」 검인정 교과서 10종 중 5 종의 내용을 분석하고 1종을 선택하여 「Ⅲ.우주」 단원의 개념도를 작성하였다. 「Ⅲ.우주」 단원은 이전까지 접해온 지구과학 영역과는 다른 지구 밖의 환경을 다루며 별과 우주에 대한 새로운 개념들이 다양하게 제시되며 천문학의 최근 연구들이 소개되므로 학습동기가 대단히 높은 단원이다. 연구 방법은 교과서에 나타나 있는 내용을 Npvak의 방법에 의한 개념도 (Concept)로 작성하여 교과서가 제시하고 있는 개념 중 학습자의 수준에서 개념을 획득하기 위하여 보충되어야 할 개념을 찾고 문제점을 지적하였다. 그리고 그 결과를 바탕으로 보다 개선된 개념도를 작성하였다. 본 연구는 보다 효과적인 지구과학 교육을 위한 참고자료로서의 개념도 작성을 목적으로 두었으며 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1 .본 교과서의 「Ⅲ.우주」 대단원을 분석하여 중요 개념을 조사한 결과 연관성이 없거나 중복되는 개념을 갖는 중단원 및 소단원명이 부분적으로 나열되어 있다. 따라서 보다 효과적인 이해를 위해 필요 없는 소단원명은 제외하고 내용 전개상 관련 있는 개념들 간의 연관성을 살린 재배열이 필요하다. 2. 조사된 단원의 내용전개가 부분적으로 상위 개념과 하위 개념이 위계적으로 제시되지 않아 학생들의 개념 형성에 방해 요소가 된다. 그러므로 체계적인 전개방식으로 개선이 요구된다. 3. 개념들간의 연결이 잘되도록 학습 개념과 관련 있는 실례를 찾아 학습자의 경험과 인식에 관련을 맺도록 해야한다. 본 6차 교육과정에서는 이런 측면이 첨가되고 있으나 더욱 강화되야 한다. 4. 본 단원은 별과 우주의 탐사에 관한 개념이 많으므로 학습자에게 그림이나 사진자료를 제시하는 것이 내용을 구체적으로 인지하게 해준다. 따라서 교과서의 그림은 보다 구체적으로 정확한 묘사가 필요하며 다양한 사진 자료의 제시도 요구된다. 5. 본 단원에서 주요 학습 내용을 고딕체로 강조하였으나 적절히 선택되어 있지 않다. 단원 학습 목표에 맞고 학습자의 이해에 도움이 되는 적절한 학습요소들만이 고딕체로 강조하였다. 6. 본 단원에서는 행성의 운동학적 특징 등 물리 법칙과 연관성 있는 개념도가 작성된다. 따라서 본 내용의 학습시 타 단원과의 관련성을 이해할 필요가 있다.;The concept map is the diagram of two dimensions which hierarchically arrays main concepts from those of the textbook and shows their relation. It can be used as the method of meaningful learning. The research analyzed five of the ten high school earth science textbooks approved by the Ministry of Education according to the 6th reformed curriculum in 1995, one of which this research chose to make out the concept maps. chapter [Ⅲ. The Universe] contains the outer space of the earth, different from of earth science of this time, presents new concepts about the stars and the universe and introduces the latest research in astronomy. This way enables learners to build up their motives. This study changed textbook contents into Novak's concept map, for concepts requiring complement for learners in order to obtain concepts from those better concept map is set up. of the textbook and pointed out problems. On the basis of that result still better concept map is set up. This study was intended to make out concepts as data giving aid to more effective earth science education and these following conclusions were obtained. 1. Middle and small units, unrelated or overlapping, were arrayed partly as a result of analyzing the chapter [Ⅲ. The Universe] and looking into main concept. Therefore it is necessary to rule out unnecessary small units so as to make more effective understanding and to rearrange the units to have relation to contents. 2, The higher concept and lower concept that were not presented unsystematically in the learners from forming the concept. making an array of textbook contents prevented the learners from forming the concept. Therefore it is asked that units were rearranged. 3. The concepts should have something to do with learners' experiences and consciousness by showing leatners the real examples relevant to the concepts for the link between them. These aspects belonged to the present 6th curriculums, whereas they should be emphasized more. 4. The presentation of pictures and photos enables the learners to recognize contents concretely because of a number of concepts about the stars and exploration of the universe. Therefore it is necessary to describe the pictures in the textbook more concretely and exactly and to present various photos. 5. The use of bold letters to put emphasis on main concepts was not appropriate to the proper use for the l d n g points each purpose. There should be the necessity of and for learners' understanding. 6 . In this chapter the concept maps having relation to physical laws, dynamic characteristics of planets, etc. were made out. So it is necessary to understand relation between this chapter and others.
