A. Vivaldi의 사계 중 「겨울」 분석연구

Abstract

바로크 시대(1600-1750)는 오페라 뿐 아니라 오라토리오, 칸타타, 모음곡, 소나타, 콘체르토 등 다양한 장르의 음악이 생겨나고 새로운 양식이 탄생한 시기이다. 특히 17세기 말부터 기악음악은 성악음악만큼 중요해졌으며, 그 중에서 콘체르(concerto)는 바로크 관현악 음악에 있어서 하나의 중요한 음악양식이 되었다. 오늘날의 콘체르토는 독주악기 혹은 작은 그룹의 악기가 관현악과 대비되어 연주되는 기악곡을 의미하나, 16세기 초 처음 등장한 후 100년이 지나는 동안 콘체르토의 의미는 다양해졌다. 17세기 중엽부터 콘체르토 양식은 콘체르토 리피에노(Concerto Ripieno), 콘체르토 그로소(Concerto Grosso) 그리고 솔로 콘체르토(Solo Concerto)의 형태로 나타났으며 18세기에 이르러 코렐리(A. Corelli, 1653-1713), 토렐리(G. Torelli, 1658-1707), 비발디 (A. Vivaldi, 1678-1741) 그리고 바흐(J. S. Bach, 1685-1750) 등에 의해 형식과 악장구성을 갖추어 더욱 발전되었다. 비발디는 바흐, 헨델(G. F. Handel, 1685-1759)과 함께 바로크 음악의 대표적인 작곡가로 다양한 장르에 걸쳐 많은 작품을 남겼으며, 그 중에서도 콘체르토는 코렐리와 토렐리의 영향을 받아 바로크 콘체르토의 형식과 악장구성 및 짜임새를 확립함으로써 바로크 콘체르토의 역사에서 한 정점을 형성한 곡들로 평가받고 있다. 본 논문은 자연을 소재로 하여 학생들에게 친근하게 다가갈 수 있고 흥미유발에도 용이한 비발디의 <사계(Le Quattro Stagioni)> 중 「겨울 (L'Inverno)」Op. 8, No. 4의 분석을 통하여 이 작품에 나타난 비발디 콘체르토의 음악적 특징 및 기법 등을 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 논문의 이론적 배경으로는 바로크 콘체르토, 비발디의 콘체르토와 함께 사계의 음악적 특징에 대하여 다루었고, 본론은 「겨울」의 형식, 조성 및 화성어법, 선율 및 주제적 소재를 중심으로 분석한 내용으로 이루어져 있다. 분석 결과에서 그의 콘체르토가 바로크 콘체르토의 역사에서 한 정점을 형성하는 것으로 평가받는 이유를 찾아 볼 수 있었다. 또한 비발디는 콘체르토의 기틀을 마련한 토렐리의 영향을 받아 그 형태를 더욱 발전시켜 바흐를 비롯한 동시대의 다른 작곡가들에게 뿐 아니라 고전주의시대의 콘체르토 작곡가들에게 까지 커다란 영향을 끼쳤음을 알 수 있었다.;A number of music and new styles have emerged in the Baroque Period. By the end of the 17th century the instrumental music became as important as the vocal music and especially Concerto became an important music style in Baroque orchestral music. The modern Concerto implies instrumental music in solo or with a small group of instruments in contrast to orchestral music, but the meaning of Concerto became more diverse since its appearance in early 16th century, 100 years ago. From the middle of 17th century, the Concerto style has been a form of Concerto Ripieno, Concerto Grosso, and Solo Concerto, and towards the 18th century, the structure became further developed by A. Corelli (1653-1713), G. Torelli (1658-1707), A. Vivaldi (1678-1741), and J. S. Bach (1685-1750). Vivaldi was a representative composer along with Bach and Handel (1685-1750) who had many pieces across various genres, and his Concerto was recognized as a reaching the pinnacle of Baroque Concerto by establishing the structure of chapters with the influence of Corelli and Torelli. This study aims to understand the historical meaning and musical techniques and features displayed in Vivaldi's Concerto through the analysis of Winter from Four seasons which is an interesting material for students that include nature as a theme. This thesis will introduce Baroque Concerto, Vivaldi's Concertos and Four Seasons's musical structure theoretically. There will be an analysis on the form, tonality, harmony, melody and subjective motive from Winter Op. 8, No. 4. The above analysis shows why Vivaldi's concertos is critiqued as being at the pinnacle of the history of Concertos. Vivaldi, with the influence of Torelli who laid the foundation of Concerto, developed the structure of Concerto further, and greatly influenced not only the composers of the period such as Bach, but also the composers of the Classic period.
