J. Brahms의 연가곡 Romanzen aus Magelone Op.33 연구

Abstract

브라암스 (Johannes Brahms 1833∼1897)는 낭인주의 시대의 작곡가이지만 형식면에서 고전적인 면을 바탕으로 한 작품을 씀으로써 신고전주의의 계기를 만든 19세기의 위대한 작곡가이다. 그에게 있어서 Lied는 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있으며 260곡이 넘는 작품을 남겼다. 그 중에서도 특기할 만한 것은 기사도 이야기를 소재로한 티이크 (Ludwig Tieck 1773-1853)의 시에 붙인 Romanzen aus Magelone Op. 33으로서 그에게는 단 하나뿐인 연가곡집이다. 이 작품은 방대한 작품으로 전체가 15곡으로 이루어져 있는데, 형식면에서 보면 유절가곡 5곡, 통절가곡 7곡, 복합가곡 3곡으로 나누어져 있다. 특히 여기서는 통절가곡만을 연구해 봄으로써 작품에 나타난 브라암스의 독특한 기법에 대한 이해에 이르고자 한다. 본 연구는 Romanzen aus Magelone Op. 33에 대한 분석적 고찰로서 문헌을 통해 독일 Lied 역사에 대해 살펴보고 브라암스 가곡의 일반적인 특징을 알아 보았으며, 그후 악곡 분석하였다. 이작품에서 브라암스는 지금까지 쓴 민요의 요소가 강한 가곡과는 양식적으로 상이함을 보여주고 있으며, 자주 변주곡의 원리를 응용한 작법으로 반복과 대비속에 전체의 통일을 이루고 있다. 통절가곡을 통해서 본 특징에는 철저하게 선율적이며 노래성부와 아래성부를 중요시 하였다. 형식에 있어서는 난해한 구조가 드물고 명료한 구조로 되어 있음을 알 수 있다. 각 곡에서의 선율 부분은 한개나 둘의 동기를 기초로 하여 발전 시켜나가는 고전적인 면을 볼 수 있다. 독창부에 나타난 리듬적 요소는 ♩,♩. ♪ ♩,♩♩♩의 3종류를 기본으로 발전되어 지고있다. 화성 진행에 있어서 부속화음도 많이 사용하였지만 주요 3화음을 주축으로 이루고 음정에서는 특히 4도관계가 빈번하다. 이 작품은 Brahms가 8년에 걸쳐서 쓴 곡으로 베에토벤, 슈베르트, 슈만의 연가곡을 신 고전주의적 입장에서 전수한 뜻있는 작품으로 생각되며 오늘날 브라암스가 전 생애를 통해 하나 뿐인 연가곡으로 불후의 작품이라 할 수 있다.;Johannes Brahms was one of the greatest and most influential composers in the 19th century, who gave a momentum to open new classicism through his compositions which were based on classicism in the period of romanticism. Lied occupied significant position in brahms' works, so brahms left more than two hundred and sixty lieds. Among his works, especially "Romanzen aus magelone" op. 33, which is the only song cycle. This work is composed of 15 songs which are divided in 3 stylistic features studied in the present thesis are 7 songs of through-composed form. A brief historical over view of the lied and general characteristics of Brahms' songs are examined before a detailed analysis of the 7 selected songs. 1. Each song is clearly divided into sections, but phrase lengths are irregular. 2. Brahms used slow moving rhythmic patterns in his vocal melddies. 3. Introduction, interlude and postlude in the piano parts serve as unifying elements. of songs. 4. Wide Range of vocal unes, of melody triadic outunes and step protressions are seen as characteristics of Brahms' melodies. 5. In order to express the meaning of the texts, Brahms used frequent modulations, chrdmaticism, change of meter or compound meter and mutations. In this work he uses different pattern and style he used in his early lied and frequently he show overall unity through contrast and reiteration by quoting principle of variation. He was spent 8 years to complete this music which is his only one song cycles and is everlasting master piece, which is initiated into Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann's song cycles.
