라만 분광을 통한 Bi2-xYxRu2O7의 광학적 성질 연구

Abstract

Pyrochlore ruthenium oxides A2Ru2O are interesting materials, which show various electronic properties depending on the A-site ions. It is important that different A-site ions affect bond angles and bond lengths, which could change distance and length of the interatoms. BiYRuO is known to show metal-insulator transition (MIT) at around x=1.2. In this paper, we investigated the properties of BiYRuO using Raman spectroscopy. BiYRuO samples were synthesized using the solid state reaction method. Results of Raman measurements at room temperature show that Raman active modes appear in both phases, metallic or insulating. Three strong phonon modes at 315, 410, and 520 cm-1 found in Y2Ru2O7 are suppressed as Bi-content increases. Additional peak at ～680cm-1 starts to grow as Bi-content increases, and the peak position shift to lower frequency at the MIT boundary x=1.2.;Pyrochlore(황녹석) 루테늄 산화물들은 주로 A2Ru2O7-구조를 가지는데, 특히 A 위치에 속하는 이온들에 의해서 결합각과 결합 길이가 변하면, 내부원자들의 원자거리와 결합각도 영향을 받게 된다. 이는 전체적인 구조에 영향을 주어 다양한 전자적 특성을 가지게 하는 것으로 알려져 있다. BiYRuO는 이트륨(Yittrium)의 도핑 양에 따라서 Bi2Ru2O7일때 금속 상태와 Y2Ru2O7일때 절연체 상태가 가능하며, x=1.2근처에서 도핑에 따른 금속-절연체 상전이(Metal-Insulator transition, MIT)가 일어난다고 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 라만 분광을 통해 BiYRuO의 라만스펙트럼의 변화를 살펴봄으로써 구조변화에 따른 포논들의 거동을 살펴보았다. 상온에서 얻은 라만 스펙트라는 x값이 변하여 MIT를 거쳐도 결정구조에는 변화가 없었으며, 라만 활성모드가 금속상과 절연체상에서 모두 나타났다. MIT가 일어나는 x=1.2를 경계로 했을때, 이트륨양이 적어질수록 금속상에 가까워지면서 피크들의 모양이 넓어지고 진동수는 높은 쪽으로 이동한다. 한편, 절연체상에 가까워지면서 나타나는 피크들은 폭이 좁아지면서 날카로운 모양을 가진 피크들이 나타났다. Y2Ru2O7에서는 315, 410, 520 cm-1에서 강한 라만 피크를 보이던 것이 Bi 도핑양이 증가함에 따라 강한 포논들은 급격하게 약해지면서 넓어진다. 그런데, x=1.2를 경계로 서로 다른 경향을 가지는 690, 700cm-1에 새로이 생긴 피크는 x=1.2를 경계로 금속상이 우세 할수록 주파수가 낮아지면서 반치폭이 작아지는 경향을 보였다.
