아동의 지도력(Leadership) 향상을 위한 프로그램 개발

Abstract

지도력(leadership)은 현대 사회를 살아가는 필요한 핵심적 능력으로 자신의 삶과 자신이 속한 집단 조직, 사회를 효과적으로 성공적으로 만들기 위해 지녀야 할 특성을 의미한다. 즉, 지도력이라는 의미가 과거에 가지던 의미와는 다르며 지도력이 특성적으로 일부 누군가에게 있는 특별한 재능이라기보다는 모든 사람들에게 잠재되어 개발될 수 있는 것으로 여기고 있다. 초등학교 시기부터 아동들이 작은 사회 생활을 경험한다고 할 때 그들은 그들이 맺고 이는 교우관계, 교사와의 관계, 혹은 학교 제도와의 관계와 균형을 맞추어 가며 효율적이며 조화로운 공동체 생활의 기본을 익혀간다. 이러한 시기에 변화된 개념으로서의 지도력에 대한 교육이 이루어진다면 아동이 미래에 자신의 삶과 타인의 삶에 대한 보다 책임 있는 태도와 행동을 지닐 수 있을 것을 기대할 수 있을 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 아동의 지도력 향상을 위한 지도력 향상 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하고자 한다. 그 중에서도 아동의 지도력(Leadership)향상을 위해 7차 교육과정 상에서 아동들에게 지도할 수 있는 지도력 교육을 실천 가능한 프로그램을 개발하였다. 여기서 지도력 교육을 실천할 수 있는 교과로서 도덕과를 선택한 이유는 현대의 아동들은 도덕적 지식은 가지고 있으나 도덕적 행동의 실천은 미비하다는 현실적인 문제점과 지도력 교육이 가지는 인성 교육적 측면, 지도력의 중요한 특성으로서 타인에 대한 ‘존중’의 마음이 필요하다는 점을 고려했기 때문이다. 프로그램 구성의 기반이 된 활동의 흐름은 Macgregor(2001)의 청소년을 위한 지도력 훈련 프로그램이었으며 이의 내용을 참고하여 본 연구에서는 초등학교 저학년에 알맞은 지도자 탐구 활동 4단계를 구성하였다. 본 프로그램에서 개발한 프로그램은 숙의 모형을 기초로 하여 개발되었다. 그 중에서도 Walker의 모형에 근거한 MacCutcheon의 개별 숙의 방법을 선택하였다. 프로그램 개발을 위해 학교 현장에서 비롯된 교사의 문제의식과 사회적 요구, 과거의 아동의 지도력 교육에 대한 선행 연구들에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 프로그램 개발의 신조를 결정하였고 교육과정 분석과 병행하여 교육환경, 정책, 교사 등의 조건을 고려하여 프로그램 개발의 내용준거가 될 지도력의 구성 요소를 선택하였다. 지도력의 구성 요소로는 김안나외(2003)의 연구결과를 참고하여 목표달성능력, 재창조능력, 통솔력, 인간관계능력, 목적의식이 선택되었다. 도덕과 교육과정의 분석 결과 3학년 2학기 도덕과에서 중점적으로 지도될 수 있는 내용은 ‘약속지키기, 자신의 생활 반성하기, 타인 배려하기, ’공동체 지향하기, 나라에 대한 자긍심 갖기, 우리나라의 현실을 인식하고 통일을 위한 노력하기‘ 등 이었다 본 프로그램의 전체 목표는 “다양한 학습 활동을 통하여 아동의 잠재된 지도력 향상시키고 실천적인 가치의 체득을 통해 도덕적 인성을 함양한다.”로 설정하였으며 학습할 내용에 알맞게 세부 목표도 진술하였다. 다음으로 추출된 내용과 목표를 충족시킬 수 있는 구체적인 활동을 계획하여 지도력 개발 프로그램을 완성하였다. 프로그램에 사용된 교수 전략으로서 차시의 내용을 고려하여 수집된 정보를 바탕으로 일반화하는 사고과정이 필요한 경우에는 집단 탐구 모형, 타인에 대한 배려와 존중이 우선되는 차시에는 배려모형, 여러 갈등 상황 속에서 의사 결정을 하여야 하는 경우에는 가치 갈등 모형과 같은 도덕과 교수학습 모형을 사용하였다. 아동들의 모둠 활동에서도 협동 학습적 효과를 고려하여 함께 하는 인원을 4명을 넘기지는 않아 모둠원들이 모두 각각 역할을 가지며 책임을 다할 수 있도록 하였다. 개발된 프로그램은 서울에 위치한 E 사립 초등학교 3학년 아동 30명을 대상으로 5주간에 걸쳐 실시되었으며 프로그램의 평가를 위해 첫째, 지도력의 향상 정도를 보기 위해 KEDI의 지도력 검사지를 활용하여 사전ㆍ사후를 검사를 실시하였다. 둘째, 아동의 흥미와 학습에의 참여정도, 생활 속에서의 변화들을 살펴보기 위해 교사의 질적 관찰법과, 아동의 자기 평가를 활용하였다. 아동의 지도력 향상을 위한 교육과정 재구성 프로그램의 실시 결과, 아동의 지도력은 SPSS 10 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 t검증으로 분석하였을 때, 아동의 지도력이 향상되었으며 그것은 통계적으로 유의미한 차이(p< .01)에서 차이를 보였다. 이상의 내용을 살펴볼 때, 개발된 프로그램이 아동의 지도력 향상에 도움을 주었음을 알 수 있다. 그러나 본 연구에서 사용된 교육과정 재구성 전략이 최선이라고 볼 수는 없으며 이는 아동의 지도력 교육을 위한 한 예시가 될 수 있을 것이다. 또한 지도력 교육을 원하는 학교 교육의 현장에서 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다. 앞으로 점진적으로 학교 교육 속에서 아동의 지도력 교육이 확대되기 위해 다양한 방법이 모색되어야 할 것이며, 다른 교과를 통한 지도력 교육방안의 연구, 개발된 프로그램에 있어 선수 학년과 후속학년의 학습의 연결 및 위계에 대한 활발한 연구, 타당성과 신뢰성이 확보될 수 있는 대단위의 연구 등이 계속되어야 할 것이다.;The purpose of this study is developing units to expand children's leadership with reorganizing learning objects and contents in elementary moral education curriculum. Man is social being relating to other people and influencing on each other as member of community whatever it may be from his birth. Therefore, each individual needs to have feature of rational and progressive man to achieve ultimate goal of community through management of well-rounded social life & formation of human relations as members of various communities. In addition, modern times of the 21th century called as age of Globalization, information and diversification is requesting man to have feature of progressive Leader to contribute to efficient operation and development of community as well as a member of community with owner consciousness of each one at the same time in a democracy society. At this point, school education as a field of value education needs to educate elementary school students to be owners of future society for mental attitude (Leadership) to grow up as right leader & to recognize of Leader's feature of true meaning. Though necessity to elements related children's leadership was stated clearly at present the seventh curriculum, that is the state of the case superficial and intensive education hasn't been performed. So in this study, reorganization program of morals subject to practice leadership education to direct children on the seventh curriculum is developed for the improvement of children's Leadership. Here, the reason of selection of morals subject as a subject to practice Leadership education is modern children's problem who have moral knowledge but insufficient practice of moral behavior. Therefore, Leadership education of morals class was caused to be an opportunity of giving help with respect for others & responsibility and aim prescription about their own life and as a result, to perform a role of practical humanity education. Reorganized unit in this program was developed on the basis of deliberation model. Among them, G. MacCutcheon's individual deliberation method on the basis of Walker's model was selected. First, for the program reorganization developed, on the basis of analysis of teachers' critical mind & social demand and early study about past children's Leadership education arose from the spot of school, creed of program development was decided, sub-elements of Leadership to be standard of program reorganization were selected with the consideration about educational environments, policies, and teachers going side by side with curriculum analysis, after abstracting important value virtue & contents element, the object was restated with being true to that. The general object of this program is " Improving of children's potential Leadership through various learning activities & Cultivating moral humanity through practical value realization" and detail objects were established and stated as ones fitting for contents to learn. As sub-elements of Leadership, object achievement ability, recreation ability, gripability, human relation ability and a sense of purpose were selected referring to research result of Korean Educational Development Institute, and as content elements to direct in Morals subject of the third grade, promise, respect & consideration, and role performance based on every community spirit were abstracted. On the basis of abstracted contents, with planning concrete activities again, reconstruction program was completed. At organization of activity plan, it was planned using various Morals subject class model, learner group had different group size according to character of activity, but group activity member was less than 4, so all group member was made to fulfill their responsibilities performing each role. Developed program was carried out as target on 30 children of the third grade of E Private Elementary School in Seoul for 5 weeks , and for program evaluation, first, pre & post examinations were carried out using leadership examination paper of KEDI to see the degree of leadership improvement. Second, teacher's qualitative observation method and children's self evaluation were used to look into children's interest & participation rate in learning and changes in life. As a result of curriculum reorganization program enforcement for children's Leadership improvement, when children's Leadership was analyzed as t verification using SPSS 10 Statistics Program, children's Leadership was improved, and it showed attended difference at statistically meaningful difference (p<0.01) At looking into contents above, with reconstruction of Morals subject, when it is directed intensively, we can know it helped children with the improvement of potential Leadership. However, strategy of curriculum reconstruction used in this study can't be regarded the best, this will be able to an exemplification for children's Leadership education. Only for expansion of children's Leadership education in school education gradually, there will be need to find various methods. Leadership education method research through other subjects and active research about learning connection & rank of pre-post grade in developed program will have to be continued.
