한국어 교육에서의 희곡 교육 연구

Abstract

The interest in Korean language itself is the crucial factor that enables foreign students to keep learning Korean. Therefore, it is needed that we make every effort to interest the students in Korean language despite the variety of their purposes of learning it. For this reason, the use of literature deserves special emphasis in the Korean classes. It is because that we can find the way of thoughts and acts in addition to the common features of human characteristics and various cultural phenomenon in literature. The preceding studies on the use of literature in teaching Korean as a foreign language are about using poetry, novel, essay and tale. In spite of its literal values and educational effectiveness, drama has been neglected in this field. So, the purpose of this thesis is to prove the educational values of drama and to present a teaching method of using it. In Chapter Ⅰ, the objective and main idea of this thesis are introduced as well as various preceding studies on the use of literature in teaching Korean as a foreing language. Chapter Ⅱ discusses the necessities of using literature and the nature, characteristics and effectiveness of drama along with the significance of using it in teaching Korean as a foreign language. Also it explores three teaching methods and then suggests a teaching method of drama in Korean classes based on Han, Ok-keun's 'teaching method of drama focussed on the public performance'. Chapter Ⅲ describes the result of an investigation into the reality of teaching literature by an analysis of the textbooks. The result is that drama has been neglected compared to other genre of literature. It also introduces some researches of which subjects are teachers and students. In addition, it describes the result of an investigation of which subjects are teachers regarding the use of drama in Korean classes. In Chapter Ⅳ a teaching method of using drama and a sample teaching plan using Ham, Se-duk's「Dong Seung」 are presented. It is said that the criterion of selecting a text should be structure, length and the main idea. Chapter Ⅴ summarizes this study and calls for more further in-depth ones.;외국인 학습자들이 한국어를 꾸준히 배우는 데 있어 무엇보다 중요한 것은 한국어에 대한 흥미와 관심일 것이다. 학습자 개개인별로 한국어를 배우는 목적의 다양성에도 불구하고 공통적으로 한국어를 즐겁게 배울 수 있도록 흥미와 관심을 유발시키고 지속적으로 유지, 향상시킬 수 있도록 하는 노력이 무엇보다 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 이를 위해 때와 장소에 관계없이 인간에게 공통적으로 적용되는 보편적 정서적 특징이 존재할 뿐만 아니라 언어의 다양한 문화 현상과 경험, 언어를 사용하는 사람들의 사고 방식 및 언어의 활용 등이 잘 담겨져 있는 문학 텍스트를 한국어 수업에서 활용하는 것이 좋은 방법이 될 수 있다. 그런데 지금까지 한국어 교육 분야에서 문학 교육에 대해 이뤄진 연구를 살펴보면 모두가 시, 소설, 수필, 설화 등을 대상으로 한 연구들이었으며 대표적인 문학 장르 가운데 하나인 희곡을 활용한 한국어 수업 방안에 대한 연구는 찾아볼 수 없는 실정이다. 실제 한국어 교육 현장에서도 희곡은 그 문학적 가치와 교육적 효용성에도 불구하고 시나 소설 등 타 문학 장르에 비해 외면당하고 있는 게 사실이다. 이에 본 연구는 외국어로서의 한국어 교육에 있어서 희곡의 교육적 의의를 살펴보고 실제 작품을 활용한 수업 모형을 제안하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 Ⅰ장에서는 본 연구의 목적 및 내용에 대해 언급하고 한국어 교육 연구 분야에서 문학 교육의 의의를 밝힌 연구들을 선행연구 검토에서 정리해 보았다. Ⅱ장에서는 한국어 교육에서의 희곡 교육을 위한 이론적 배경으로서 우선 문학 교육의 필요성에 대해 알아보고 이어 희곡의 본질 및 특성과 그 효용에 대해 살펴 본 다음 한국어 교육에서 희곡 교육의 의의에 대해 정리해 보았다. 이어 희곡 지도 방법을 제안해 보고자 먼저 문학 교육 모델과 문학 지도 방법들을 살펴보고 한옥근의 ‘희곡 극화-교수 학습 모형’을 참조하여 ‘한국어 수업에서의 희곡 교수-학습 모형’을 구상해 보았다. 이어 Ⅲ장에서는 한국어 교육에서의 문학 교육 현황이 어떠한지 알아보기 위해 현행 한국어 교육 기관별 교재 분석을 실시하였는데 수록된 문학 작품들의 장르별 현황을 통해 한국어 교육 현장에서 다른 문학 장르에 비해 희곡이 소홀히 취급되고 있음을 쉽게 알 수 있었다. 또한, 문학 교육에 관한 교사 및 학습자 설문 조사를 소개하고, 이어 희곡 교육에 관하여 한국어 교사를 대상으로 실시한 설문 조사 결과를 분석하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 구체적인 희곡 작품을 활용한 한국어 수업 방안을 제시하였는데 한국어 수업에서의 희곡 작품 선정 시 기준으로서 구조가 적절한가 여부, 작품의 길이가 너무 길지 않은 작품이어야 하며, 작품의 내용 및 주제가 학습자의 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 것으로 보고 이를 토대로 선정한 함세덕의 〈동승〉을 활용한 교수-학습 활동 및 수업 지도안을 작성하였다. 끝으로 Ⅴ장에서는 이제까지의 연구를 정리하고 연구의 한계점 및 제언을 덧붙였다.
