Abstract

본 논문은 저자의 졸업 리사이틀 프로그램인 세자르 프랑크(César Franck, 1822-1890)의 <바이올린과 피아노를 위한 소나타(Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major)>, 에드바드 그리그(Edvard Grieg, 1843-1907)의 <바이올린 소나타 제 2번(Violin Sonata No.2 in G Major Op.13)>, 윌리엄 볼콤(William Bolcom, b.1938)의 <우아한 유령(Graceful Ghost Rag)>에 대한 연구이다. 세자르 프랑크(César Franck)는 후기 낭만주의를 대표하는 작곡가 중 하나이다. 1886년 완성된 <바이올린과 피아노를 위한 소나타(Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major)>는 하나밖에 없는 그의 바이올린 소나타이며 현재도 많은 연주가들에게 활발히 연주되는 대표 작품이다. 일반적인 소나타와는 다르게 네 개의 악장으로 구성되어 있으며 순환 주제의 사용으로 전체적인 통일감을 조성한 것이 특징이다. 에드바드 그리그(Edvard Grieg)는 노르웨이 출신의 작곡가로 작품 안에 민속적인 색채를 녹여내 자신의 음악 정체성을 확립하였다. 그의 바이올린 소나타는 총 3개이고 그 중 두 번째 곡인 <바이올린 소나타 제 2번(Violin Sonata No.2 in G Major Op.13)>은 그리그의 초기 작품으로 노르웨이 전통적 선율과 리듬 등 민족적 요소들이 두드러지게 나타난다. 윌리엄 볼콤(William Bolcom)은 현존하는 미국의 작곡가 겸 피아니스트로 성악, 기악, 오페라 등 여러 분야에서 활발히 활동하였다. <우아한 유령(Graceful Ghost Rag)>은 스콧 조플린(Scott Joplin, 1868-1917)의 음악에서 영감을 받아 1970년 작곡한 <세 개의 유령 래그(Three Ghost Rags)>의 첫 번째 곡이다. 돌아가신 아버지를 기리며 작곡된 이 곡은 당김음(Syncopation) 리듬을 돋볼 수 있는 래그타임(Ragtime) 장르로, 서정적인 선율과 싱코페이션(Syncopation) 스타일의 반주가 특징적이다.;This study investigated the author's graduation recital program, featuring “Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major”by César Franck,“Violin Sonata No. 2 in G Major, Op.13”by Edvard Grieg, and“Graceful Ghost Rag”by William Bolcom. It aims to understand these composers' ideologies and gain insights for performance. César Franck(1822-1890), a French composer, represents late Romanticism. His work is notable for its use of the󰡐cyclic form', a recurring theme that creates a sense of unity between movements, as exemplified in his“Sonata for Violin and Piano in A Major”. Edvard Grieg(1843-1907), a Norwegian composer, is known for his contribution to musical nationalism in Scandinavia. Among his three violin sonatas, Violin Sonata No. 2 is an early work of Grieg's, strongly influenced by Norwegian instruments and folk dances. William Bolcom(b.1938) is a contemporary American composer who has worked in various genres, including instrumental and vocal pieces, operas, and more. He has crafted his unique musical style by merging classical and jazz forms.
