A Review of Natural Products from Salicornia europaea L. and Three New Natural Products from Marine-Derived Streptomyces sp. CNQ-049

Abstract

Natural Products continue to play a significant role in inspiring new drug discovery and development. Especially, halophytes and marine microorganisms have become potential and crucial sources of producing structurally diverse and biologically active natural products. In the first part, this study focused on reviewing the natural products of Salicornia europaea L., a halophyte that has been widely used as a folk medicine as well as a seasoned vegetable. S. europaea L. has been reported for its diverse secondary metabolites with interesting biological activities, such as antioxidant, antidiabetic, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-obesity. This study summarizes the structures of the secondary metabolites from Salicornia europaea L. and their biological/pharmacological activities. In the second part, three new natural products, streptosanitamide (1), marinobazzanan (2), and CNQ049.488 (3) were isolated from a marine-derived bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces. The chemical structure of 1–3 was established using extensive MS, UV, IR and NMR spectroscopic data analysis. ;천연물은 계속해서 새로운 의약품의 발견과 개발에 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 특히 염생식물과 해양미생물은 다양한 구조와 생리활성을 가지는 천연물을 생산하는 잠재적이고 중요한 자원이다. 첫 번째 파트에서 이 연구는 식용뿐만 아니라 민간요법으로 널리 사용되어 온 Salicornia europaea L. 이라는 염색식물의 천연물을 리뷰하는 데에 초점을 맞추었다. S. europaea L.은 항산화, 항당뇨, 세포독성, 항염증, 항비만 등 흥미로운 생리활성을 가진 다양한 이차대사산물을 생산하는 자원으로 보고되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 S. europaea L.의 이차대사산물의 구조와 그 생리/약리 활성을 요약하였다. 두 번째 파트에서는, 해양유래 방선균인 CNQ-049로부터 세 개의 신규천연물인 streptosanitamide (1), marinobazzanan (2), CNQ049.488 (3)을 분리하였다. 화학구조는 질량, UV, IR, 그리고 NMR 분석 데이터에 의해 결정하였다.
