유튜브를 활용한 한국어 학습자 대상의 미디어 리터러시 교육 방안 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유튜브를 활용한 한국어 학습자 대상의 미디어 리터러시 교육에 대한 필요성을 정리하고 교육의 목표와 내용을 바탕으로 실제 수업 방안을 설계하는 것이다. 유튜브는 세계적으로 널리 또한 일상적으로 사용되고 있는 플랫폼이며 검색 엔진과 뉴스 전달 매체로서 기능할 뿐만 아니라 1인 미디어의 특징을 갖고 있어 기존의 미디어와 다르게 접근해야 할 필요성을 갖는다. 유튜브 사용자라면 대부분 알고리즘 추천 영상 기능에 대해서는 쉽게 알 수 있으나 그로 인한 편향성은 간과하기 쉽다. TV, 뉴스와는 구별되는 뉴미디어의 특징에 대해 이해하는 올바른 미디어 사용을 위한 미디어 리터러시 교육이 필요하며, 이는 유튜브를 통해 한국어와 한국 문화를 접하는 한국어 학습자에게도 동일하게 적용된다. 그러나 선행 연구 검토를 통해 이전의 미디어 리터러시 관련 한국어 교육 연구에서 기존의 미디어와 뉴미디어에 구분을 두지 않고 종합적인 미디어를 다루었음을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 유튜브를 중심으로 하는 미디어 리터러시 교육 방안의 필요성을 인식하며 실제 수업을 위한 구성 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 우선 문헌 연구를 통해 미디어 리터러시의 개념 및 교육의 필요성을 정리하였으며, 교육에 필요한 유튜브의 구조와 특징을 확인하였다. 또한 한국어 학습자에게 필요한 미디어 리터러시 핵심 역량을 정리하여 교육의 목표로 설정하고 이를 위한 교육의 설계와 내용을 제시하였다. 다음으로는 수업의 설계로 수업에서 다루어지는 텍스트의 주제를 선정하고, 학습 과정에 따른 활동 및 과제를 정리하여 최종적으로 수업에 필요한 교수요목을 구성하였다. 마지막으로는 구체적인 실제 수업 방안을 위해 교실 현장에 적용할 수 있는 수업 내용과 과제를 제시하였다. 본 연구는 기존의 미디어 리터러시 관련 한국어 교육 연구들과 달리 학습 목적 학습자뿐만 아니라 일반 목적의 학습자에게 적용 가능한 미디어 리터러시 교육 방안을 제시하였으며, 현대 사회에서 가장 활발하게 다루어지고 있는 미디어인 유튜브를 중심으로 다루었다는 의의가 있다.;The purpose of this study is to organize the necessity of media literacy education for Korean language learners using YouTube and to design actual class plans based on the purposes and contents of education. YouTube is a platform that is widely and routinely used worldwide, functions as a search engine and news delivery medium, and has the characteristics of a one-person media, requiring a different approach from legacy media. Most YouTube users can easily know about the recommendation system, but it is easy to overlook the resulting bias. Korean language learners often connect Korean language and culture through YouTube. Therefore, there is a necessity for media literacy education using YouTube for Korean language learners. First of all, through literature research, the concept of media literacy for Korean language learners and the need for education are explored, and the characteristics of YouTube necessary for education are summarized. Next, the core competencies of media literacy required for Korean language learners are presented. The competence is a proactive approach, critical understanding, active participation, and ethical attitude. Based on this, the subject selection, activities and assignments, and syllabus needed for the class are devised. Four topics covered in the class are selected: housing and environment, work and occupation, education, and society. In addition, the following topics are discussed in detail: particulate matter, garbage, unemployment, unchecked recruitment, public education, early education, smart devices, non-maritalism, generation gap, refugees, North Korea and kiosk. Finally, a detailed class composition plan that can be used in actual classes is presented. The findings reported in this study are significant in providing specific educational plans applicable to learners with various purposes, including KAP learners and are media literacy studies centered on YouTube, which is one of the most used media nowadays.
